I'm picky, and so I can't give Red Rabbit five stars, but I liked it. My wife and I were scouting our new neighborhood before we move, and chose Red Rabbit for lunch. Interestingly, it's one block east of what has been our North Loop border, which has been 3rd Avenue. Why we placed an iron curtain on 3rd Avenue is beyond me. The bar was pleasant and fun on a weekday afternoon. My Espresso Martini was good, and the beer selection will make most people happy. I thought my Caesar salad was great; the taste came through without any need to deconstruct that many restaurants feel inclined to do. Our grinders were good, but there was too much stuff on them to call the sandwich a New England grinder; the name is more marketing than reality. Our server/bartender, Aiden, was engaging and fun. He's the kind of server every restaurant should have. We will return to Red Rabbit when we move to the North Loop in August. I can't wait.

Every now and then I take myself out for a little shopping, thrifting, eating, and drinking on a random weekday in the middle of the month. After a full day of thrifting, I decided it was time for dinner, and after passing this place for years, I finally decided to stop in. I was seated at a charming table for two. The interior had the vibe of a historic building, with brick, vaulted ceilings, and large windows. I ordered the Amatriciana from that day's specials menu along with the chocolate cherry martini. Typically I don't like sweet drinks, but this was fantastically balanced. As sweet as it was, it packed an equal punch. It felt decadent and sinfully delicious. The pasta itself was perfectly cooked, and the sauce was well made, with bits of fatty, crispy pork adding a rich, well-developed flavor. I parked on one of the downtown streets and walked about a block to the restaurant.

Came here for a work lunch and got to try the shrimp pasta, burrata and beets & burrata. Honestly everything is great quality and the pasta was perfect texture and flavor. Typically I'm not the biggest fan of beets but even the beets & burrata were fresh! Service was a bit slow overall but very nice servers and the back patio vibe is always great especially on a nice summer day in Minnesota!

Red Rabbit just doesn't miss! Me and my girl friends went for their $20 "girl dinner" and were so glad we checked it out! The girl dinner - on Sundays-Thursdays only after 8pm - consisted of a mini Caesar salad, vodka pasta, rosemary fries, and a Hugo spritz. Delish! The portions were about what you'd expect for a deal like this so you know we had to top it off with some dessert. The sticky toffee cake and tiramisu were group favorites! As always, the food is fantastic and the service was good. Parking is about what you'd expect in downtown Minneapolis (paid street or paid lots) but they do have a small parking lot in the back and if you're lucky you may get a spot.

Love the vibes here. Super romantic and sultry with how dark it is. Perfect for date night. It is loud and you are sat real close to other tables but it was still a great time. My friends and I did the girl dinner here and it was so good! We all thought it was the perfect amount of food, we loved that it's a set menu so we didn't have to make any decisions! Pasta, salad, fries and a drink for $20?! In Minneapolis! Great deal! Love that they have sparkling water as an option for no extra charge. We celebrated a birthday here too that night and appreciated the candle from the server. I really hate going to Minneapolis and paying for parking but it was worth it for this night! We just found some street metered parking. Such a fun time! Check it out if you are in the area.

GIRL DINNER IS A 10/10!!!!! $20 for a drink, fries, a salad, and some pasta?? YES PLEASE! Honestly I'd come here every day if I could. I hope they never stop girl dinner. We ended up ordering a couple more drinks and a dessert becuase the vibes were perfect and the deal was so good. Only available after 8 pm!! Service is always great here and the vibes are always perfect. I'm a big Red Rabbit fan!!!

Searched for a unique non-buffet spot for Sunday brunch and Red Rabbit checked all the boxes. We had a leisurely brunch trying many spritzes and recommended (and even one totally free!) brunch cocktails. The food was great, we had amazingly fresh shrimp and grits (and having just come from SC, we've tried a lot) and an Italian inspired florentine omelette with fresh herbs and cheese. We even got a kids pizza to give it a try and would for sure get a full sized in the future. Great service all around from the bartenders, the hosts, seemingly managers, and our server herself. It was a bit toasty so we sat inside by the bar but the covered patio looked really loved on a cooler day.

Quick date night at Red Rabbit in downtown Minneapolis! We were lucky enough to snag a canceled reservation and were seated immediately upon arrival, despite the restaurant being bustling and busy. I wish we could have enjoyed the outdoor patio as the dining room was a bit loud and dim, but that seems to be part of the restaurant's modern rustic Italian aesthetic. As for the food and service, everything was top-notch. Our order was taken promptly and both our drinks and dishes arrived quickly without feeling rushed. I ordered the spirit-free Lavender Revolution, which leaned a little sweet for my taste, but I still enjoyed it. The burrata was outstanding--light, refreshing, and incredible on the toasted bread. The calamari was equally impressive -- perfectly seasoned, crispy, and tender with every bite. For our entrée, we shared the Vodka Rigatoni with added shrimp and it was absolutely delicious--rich, fresh, and comforting without feeling too heavy. Overall Red Rabbit delivered a fantastic dining experience from start to finish. We can't wait to come back and work our way through more of the menu!

My wife and I went to the Red Rabbit our first night in Minneapolis for dinner. We arrived around 8PM on a Saturday night. We were promptly seated. Our waiter was extremely friendly and attentive. My wife had a salad with chicken and I had the vodka rigatoni with chicken. We both enjoyed our meals. The lack of stars on my end is portion size. The vibe and service were both very good. No bread with my meal and looking at my picture, do you feel that's worth $23.00? I enjoyed my meal but I'd take a gander elsewhere. Definitely a trendy restaurant.

This restaurant lives up to the hype! I came as a solo diner on a Saturday night, and sat at a table by the bar area. The waitress was very helpful with picking dishes and a drink, and the dessert she recommended was phenomenal. I had the pepperoncini martini (extra brine) sausage pasta, Italian salad, and sticky toffee cake. Everything was amazing, and I can't wait to take everyone I know back to sample that dessert! Very excited to come back with family to try more dishes - seems like it would be more family friendly on a weekday or earlier in the evening!

Outside, mothers day, great wait staff, great food and surrounded by flowing plants. Could it get any better? Yes, because the food is amazing with great variety and flavors. The selection of drinks and wine is very good, and not obnoxiously priced. The beer selection, honestly, kind of stinks. Hopefully they'll look local and update the selections of beers. Hit them with one less star over the beer - might be harsh but some of us enjoy beer. Highly recommend, seating outside was fantastic. Enjoy it's worth it.

Came here for "girl dinner" - a $20 special that includes a Hugo spritz (perfectly sweet and refreshing), Cesar salad, truffle fries, and vodka rigatoni! The truffle fries were delicious, especially with the Parmesan dip that we asked for on the side. We had to top off girl dinner with dessert and between the 6 of us, tried the sticky, toffee cake, panna cotta, tiramisu, and chocolate budino. Sticky toffee cake was our top pick, panna cotta was okay. Parking is always a bit of a challenge in north loop which is my only complaint, but overall a nice spot with great service and delicious eats!

Perfect spot to go before a Timberwolves or Twins game! Strong drinks and great food with decent prices. The wings are always great and the pizza was delicious! Pepperoncini martini was unique.

Red Rabbit Minneapolis Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - Red Rabbit Minneapolis

Is the a Byob option? How much is the corkage fee?

Hello. You can bring your own wine and we don’t have a corkage fee.

    Do they take reservations?

No they do not, You;ll be told: no worries as they've seen as many as 25 people around the big size table.

    How is the parking?

I don't believe there is a specific lot for Red Rabbit which can make it difficult to find parking depending on the day. There is a ton of street parking and lots that you will need to pay for that are close to the restaurant!

What is the dress code? Is dressing formal going to be out of place?

You can wear basically anything here and fit in. It's a very laid back environment.

    Is the patio dog friendly?

    Absolutely!

    Is there outdoor seating?

There is a small patio - I would estimate about 10 actual tables + 2 large sectional couches that are usually open seating. Most tables also have umbrellas so you can typically find shade if you want.

    Is red rabbit a chain?

Thanks for the question! We are not a chain. We have the same owner as Red Cow (3 locations) but we have just the one Red Rabbit location!

The interior has that classic vintage pub feel with lots of character and natural light. There are tons of booths and different seating areas that could accommodate parties of all sizes. I especially liked the glass dividers between some of the booths, which give you a little extra privacy without making the space feel closed off. My booth also had coat hooks and easy access to outlets, which I appreciated. I could definitely see myself coming here for a working lunch. My server was incredibly friendly and helpful, especially as I was trying to figure out how to use a couple of rewards I had on my account. I specifically came in wanting to try the fish and chips. Their lunch menu offers smaller portions of several dishes from the dinner menu, including a fish and chips option for around $15. I really wanted to try the walleye, though, so I ended up ordering the full dinner portion for around $28. The fish was absolutely the star of the plate. The breading was fantastic--crunchy around the edges while still light and fluffy--and the fish inside practically melted in my mouth. The tartar sauce was also really good and paired perfectly with it. The sides, unfortunately, didn't impress me nearly as much. There were plenty of fries, but they were pretty average, and the coleslaw was mostly cabbage with a light dressing. It felt like it was missing some acidity or lime to give it a little more personality. For almost $30, I also expected the meal to be a bit more substantial. I left satisfied, but found myself hungry again a couple of hours later, so I'm not sure the dinner portion felt worth the price for me. If you're mainly curious about their fish and chips, I'd probably recommend trying the smaller lunch portion first rather than committing to the more expensive dinner version. Would I come back? Absolutely--the atmosphere, service, and location alone make The Local worth another visit, and I noticed several other dishes on the menu I'd be interested in trying. I just don't know that I'd order this particular meal again. The fish itself was excellent, but for me, the sides and overall value didn't quite match it.

Relatively easy to find, though you do have to hunt a little bit, Flora Room sits behind a nondescript metal door leading down a short hallway to the entrance. Once your "night vision" kicks in you're surrounded by a nice bar, numerous bistro-style tables and booths. Candles adorn the tables creating a nice, cozy place to settle in for drinks. Once seated in comfortable chairs at a table, we were quickly greeted and provided with menus. The cocktail selection is relatively "small" but really nicely varied. Prices seemed a tad steep but frankly, given the quality of the drinks I'd say quite worth it. I started out with the Evita, a nice flavorful gin-base cocktail topped with a nice egg white foam. Very tasty. My wife opted for the Tapaculo, with gin, mezcal, pineapple, banana and bitters over ice. Also quite good. There are also bites available from the associated restaurant I can't recall the name of mine but I can say it was delicious. Bread-like bites with a really tasty dipping sauce. To close out the visit I selected Palo, a smoked aged rum cocktail that was really nice and rich. My wife chose the Nahualito with rum, walnut, amontillado and white chocolate. All should be on your radar. Flora Room really fit the bill for a nice, intimate speakeasy-style spot to spend time. Dark and cozy. Fortunately, I arrived at 5:30 PM on a Saturday, which was early enough to avoid a line and a velvet rope. I don't wait in line for anything unless I'm at a pharmacy, bakery, post office, or airport. Lines at restaurants and bars strike me as pretentious or bad management, and I don't tolerate either. However, I'm old, and at my age, nothing is worth waiting for unless it's a necessity. I found a seat at the beautiful and expansive bar and looked around at the Del Prado design. The colors might be different, but Flora was reminiscent of Minari and Noma. All three add to the Twin Cities' cachet. However, I was taken aback by the attire I saw around me. People were dressed in shorts, T-shirts, and sneakers. It's friggen Saturday night Minneapolis. Have some class! Flora Room was a lovely cocktail lounge, perfect for wooing, but don't expect to strike up a conversation with any of the bartenders. At these Del Prado joints, the staff must be trained not to engage. I'm out alone and enjoy talking. Bartenders used to be part of a lounge's attraction when I grew up in NYC. They learned your name, knew what you did, and gave you a hearty welcome. That, I guess, is not part of the culture in Minneapolis. Well, at least not at the Del Prado restaurants and bars. Chef Del Prado is from Argentina, and certainly, Argentina is one of the warmest and friendliest countries in the world, so I don't get it. I now live up the block from the Flora Room. I'm a neighbor and would like to be treated like one. Neighborly and the Flora Room are distant concepts.

    - Cowboy Jack's Downtown Minneapolis…read more I recently visited Cowboy Jack's during the Ryan Meetup, when the restaurant temporarily changed its name to "Cowboy Ryan's" for the day. They went above and beyond to make the event feel special and deserve recognition for how much effort they put into accommodating such a large group. They had a custom flag made, created special menus for the event, and allowed our group to take over much of the second and third floors. The large, open layout worked perfectly, and the staff were great sports about the entire experience. The bartenders were fantastic, the food and drink selection was strong, and the staff handled the crowd impressively well. There really was not much more we could have asked from them. After the game, many of us returned for more fun. There was a short line to get back inside, but it moved quickly. At night, the different floors had different types of music playing, which gave the place a lively and varied atmosphere. Overall, Cowboy Jack's did an excellent job hosting the Ryan Meetup. They were welcoming, organized, accommodating, and clearly put real effort into making the event memorable. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking for a fun night out in downtown Minneapolis.

We stopped in just after 6 after being downtown. Been to maple grove one a few times. We ordered…read moreboneless wings and nachos and a few bottles of beer. Items that are hard to screw up. Boneless wings were burnt with bbq sauce on top like you could see scorching under bbq sauce. Nachos were safe/ok chips melted cheese and dry chicken on top. Beer warm. They are only open few nights a week. Evidently they just stocked warm beer before we came in. Bathrooms were absolutely disgusting. Reeked like urine and floor sticky and gross like hadn't been cleaned. Waitress was nice, didn't remove burnt wings from tab but was checking in and cleaning the whole time. She was cool. Keep cleaning girl!!!
