    Burrito

We used to be big fans of KB Burritos and were excited when the Eagle location opened. It started off great, but unfortunately our last two visits have been disappointing. The employee working the front counter was noticeably unwelcoming....she seemed like she'd rather be anywhere else, which made the whole experience feel off from the start. The burritos themselves were also totally inconsistent with what we've come to expect. I ordered the Ketchum and it was almost entirely rice. There was maybe 1-2 oz of steak and MAYBE 1 oz of pinto beans. Borderline rice burrito. It's a shame to see the quality drop at a spot we really liked.

I'd come back! That was a delicious burrito! Both my husband and I got the pork chili verde burrito and we both had no complaints. The pork was tender and the sauce was flavorful. They have a chips and salsa bar, which is extra. The salsa was a blended salsa which is what I like.

Tofu burrito -- disgusting!!! side note, see how loose it's rolled? ‍ amateurs

Sh*ttiest burrito I've EVER had, hands down. Like I would've rather had chipotle, half the price and twice as good. Which is saying a lot. Lulu is a B*TCH - I was given my $5 agua fresca which was HALF FULL and asked them to please fill it up. She was like no we normally put ice in it, and I was like yeah I don't like ice. Then she asks some chick next to her can we fill it up? I'm like -__- The chick said yeah so she filled it up but was SO NOT happy about it. Said nothing and gave me the death stare. Then she was also the person who brought me my burrito, sets it down as far from me as possible on the huge table, says nothing and just death stares me down again and walks away, when I was smiling and said thank you, yet nothing back. So fucking rude and unprofessional. The burrito was disgusting. And not only that it was falling apart as soon I picked it up, they have no clue how to roll a burrito, it was SO loose and soggy! By the end I was scooping the ingredients up with my fingers off the plate. Disgusting. I got the tofu burrito and the tofu was so nasty, not seasoned or cooked hardly at all. It was gushy and cold, keep in mind it was $20 smh; never going back. And I told them it was my first time there. I've been wanting to try this place for awhile and finally did as a reward to myself after hot yoga class. So beyond disappointing and frustrating. Waste of time, money, and my energy. ‍

    Fish tacos baby!

The veggies were fresh and it didn't taste bad. But the meal had all the culinary satisfaction of a nibble on a cardboard box. I would have much preferred that the time and money and energy they put into the stickers and cute decor and photos from around the world had instead been put into making a really good carne asada or a mind-blowing al pastor.

This was a hard review to write. My first visit was a 5 Star experience. I happened by chance in thr KBs off of Eagle Rd as wanted to find something to eat for my wife. The cashier was super friendly and helpful. I even signed up for the rewards card in the first visit. Looking back, that choice doomed me. Fast forward about 5 weeks later and we decide to date night it at KBs. I ordered the Tofu burrito and quite frankly I don't remember what my wife ordered. It was not not a friendly and cheerful visit as my visit was and my wife let me know as she said, " Is this really the place you were raving about?" We sat down and I went to get some salsas. We were not given the chips and I had to ask. Later, our order arrived and it was not what either of us were expecting. My tofu burrito was well, I am not even sure how to describe it, It looked like someone tried to make a burrito with gigantic strips of Tofu. There was no even distribution of ingredients which is important in a burrito that way every bite has all the flavors. My wife's choice was underwhelming as well and she repeatedly gave me the, "I'm never going to let you take me here again." I don't know what happened. KBs was not understaffed that night. They were busy with a quite a number of Togo orders but the feel and charm from the front visit felt a million miles away. I'm going to try one more time by myself and will update the review either way.

I went here with a group of my coworkers for lunch. I have never been to this place and I am glad we ended up eating here! Inside, this place is great! I love the decors. Their menu is posted up and they have a pretty good selection. Not too much, just right which I prefer. You place your order at the counter and they will give you a number to bring back to your table. They have all you can eat chips and salsa bar. Their sauces are all yummy! I ordered Dos Enchiladas with steak and refried beans. I have never had enchiladas this way and all I can say that it is delicious!!! They give good portions and I was able to bring half back with me. The chips and salsa is worth getting if you're in a group. I love the atmosphere. Nice and chill place! Staff are very friendly and helpful. I am glad I was able to check this place out. I will definitely come visit again and bring more folks with me.

    Famous Fish Taco

KB's Burritos Looking for the best fish taco? Look no further! KB's Burritos in Eagle is famous for their fish tacos. KB's Famous Fish tacos are mahi-mahi, cabbage and Cabo sauce with a side of salsa and lime. It's hard to put into words how delicious these tacos are. I tried the shrimp taco and the fish taco. Both are very good but my favorite was the fish. Since 1993, KB's has been serving made-to-order healthy burritos and tacos. If fish isn't your thing, they have lots of other great options to consider, including burritos, bowls, salads, quesadillas and a great kids menu. They have a nice vegetarian menu. Gluten-free burritos are available too. Eagle location: 2794 S. Eagle Rd., Suite 160. Open every day from 10 AM to 9 PM KB's also has locations in Twin Falls, Ketchum, Hailey and McCall. Highly Recommended!!! -- at Ketchum Burrito.

This is the "vibe". Like a cruise ship cantina. But it works.

My wife and I had it all planned, go to Red Bench Pizza, and then a movie. Well, Red Bench closed down because of lack of workers and Crave, well was Crave, so we wondered into KB's. It wasn't our first choice, but we didn't want to drive around and didn't want to miss the movie later. Anyway, you come in and it is typical strip mall ambience. You have seen it. Like a crew ship cantina or a food court in a mega mall. Cement floors, semi open kitchen where you order your "Chipotle-like" bowl and they make it for you (it does come in a nice glass bowl). I did my order and my wife did hers. It came out rather quickly. Mine was really good. I was pretty shocked. I really didn't expect much. I would defiantly return. My wife ordered some salad off the menu and they gave her salsa for dressing. not sure if that was correct, but we didn't argue. She said her was ok. Not bad. They also serve cocktails by the can. Various local beers and they have a soda machine. It seemed the hot spot for young families. Plenty of noise, and kid dishes for the tots. Seemed to do a good take out business as well. Last word? I Shall Return!

Three take-aways and one outdoor dining experience in summary were AOK for this order at the counter (or online) and they'll bring it to your table (or have it ready in compostable to go boxes) burrito, bowl, taco, salad place opened summer 2020 as fifth installment of a Idaho based chain that originated in Ketchum in the mid '90s then expanded to McCall, Idaho Falls , Twin Falls and finally Eagle. We wouldn't refuse to go back but we don't plan in a visit even though it just minutes from our front door to theirs. Maybe our expectations were too high to start given the buzz about the 'mothership' location. LOCATION: In the strip mall of shops at Lakemoor with private parking lot and with neighbors of like Red Bench pizza, Guru donuts and Stella's ice cream. FACILITY: Inside is ight and bright, clean, standard height tables and chairs and some banquette seating, a salsa bar / beverage station with plenty of room to approach both. There is a patio alongside the building (parallels next door Red Bench patio) and given my hubby and I have been in the mode of not dining inside or out during pandemic months, it is this patio dining where we ate one of our only two on premises meals since April 2020 on a late summer morning about 10:30a to have breakfast burrito and, alas, put up with umpteen flies given the restaurant had a big, uncovered and nearly full refuse container at the nexus of restaurant side door and patio. A detail I hope they'll attend to, covering the open trash bin, before the next patio season arrives. But a detail indicative of the sort of 'not quite there' for our overall experience with KB's. EATS: The menu includes burritos which can also be ordered without tortilla in bowl form and come in sizes both small and large (@$7 - $9) and with lots of options including several vegetarian. Our favs were the Jordan which includes yams with the pork and other fixin's and the Ketchum which is their classic burrito with choice of protein. Breakfast burritos are $7 (we tried the classic). If you're planning to share a burrito (a large is plenty big for two) and let them know they'll cut it in half. Burritos can also be ordered w/out tortilla as bowl and 'word to the wise' on that, they package in compostable container and it can become plenty soggy on bottom before getting it home so place it for transport accordingly. There are also tacos (@$5 uno / $8 dos) which we did not try because, well, we are choosy about tacos (Madre Boutique Taqueria in Boise is the gold standard for us). We did try an enchilada ($6) in one of our take outs but wouldn't choose one here again as it was more quesadilla-esque when we opened the box at home. Did they get the order filled wrong or is this their enchilada style? To that I do not know the answer, but I can say on another take out occasion although the receipt on the bag matched the order as I placed it online the item inside the box was not that. Ingredients seem fresh and if you choose wisely from the menu given the number of vegetarian options and veg in nearly all offerings, you can have a pretty nutrient dense healthy meal here, which is not always so at all Mexican food themed eateries. We eat a largely plant based diet and focus on nutrition so one would think KB's a perfect fit. But the flavor just isn't there for us. ORDER / SERVICE: Website shows menu but without prices. The online order interface does list prices but is clunky to use to place an order. We used it once and gave up after that given how close this is to our home found it easier to just walk in to order at counter and stand back to wait because assembly of items is fast. There is a menu board posted above the order counter. Counter staff are very helpful for order taking. On our one day of eating there it was a kitchen staff member who delivered our breakfast burrito to the table. ACCESSIBILITY: Accessible (aka ADA) parking in lot. Level in the door from the sidewalk and all seating is on one floor. Some tables appear to have clear floor space required for diners who use wheelchairs. Chips and salsa bar are set up outside of reach range and not compliant with ADA equal access. Didn't check the loo. PANDEMIC RULES COMPLIANCE: If you're dining it you'll find tables that seemed to us if fully occupied by diners would have chairs of diners closer together by a lot than the 6' distancing recommended for pandemic...maybe eateries think this means table edge to table edge, but if diners are seated at opposing tables that puts the people about 2' apart not 6' per guidelines. Masks required posted at doors. Staff wears them. We did too when picking up take out orders and for walking through the restaurant until seated at outside tables per local Health District rules. A sign at salsa bar advises gloves must be worn to use it and the gloves are provided but up at a high spot the would be difficult or impossible to reach by some.

I had requested this table so everything was smooth from calling in to getting in. My daughter and I arrived a little early to set up the table. We had flowers, party favors and decor we needed to set up. Our server helped us put the birthday cake in the fridge so it would stay cool. We got everything set up and just chilled till everyone showed up. I did forget the birthday candles I bought so I drove home to grab them. I missed the whole ordering process. I had my daughter order the pineapple hanger steak with no potatoes subbed for veggies for me. I left before they ordered and was only gone for about 25 minutes. My food had already been sitting for 10 minutes waiting for me before I got back. I was honestly surprised at how fast everything was prepared. I did enjoy my meal. It was really good. The hanger steak was tender and very savory. The shishito peppers were cooked and grilled perfectly. I got a total of 6 and only 1 of them was spicy, I'm ok with that! The asparagus was grilled to perfection. Not overly cooked but tender with a slight bite. The best way to have asparagus. I think this would have been a 5 star experience but this is where I'm so unhappy. I brought a cake in. I also brought in candles, a vintage cake plate and plates for us to eat the cake on. It was all planned out. Our server did not communicate with me at all about the cake once she pulled it out for me. One minute it was sitting in it's box on the servers table and the next minute there's a huge, tacky firework in it. Like, I had a pretty cake made with delicate candles to put in it to have this goofy firework in the middle of it. I didn't take one photo of the cake before she violated it with the stupid firework. If you plan on bringing in a cake that you don't want touch, tell your server. Food was great. The vibe was chill. But I will always have this stupid firework in the middle of my cake as a core memory of this joint.

The atmosphere is welcoming from the moment you walk in; friendly greeting within seconds of walking in, calming colors of blue and white adorn every wall with charming tablecloths on each table, and cute decor. Service was immediate with a carafe of water and a huge smile. I loved the vibe! Ordered a German Hefeweizen that came cold and frothy. Next came the Greek salad with the most juicy, crisp tomatoes, green peppers and cucumbers, then heavily sprinkled with feta cheese, a pinch of capers, and a side of the best Greek dressing I've ever tasted. I was originally taken aback that there was no lettuce, but real Greek salad doesn't have lettuce! I had no idea. Hubby and I shared the Broiler Mix from the appetizer menu so we could sample multiple items. The Broiler mix has 2 chicken skewers, 2 beef skewers, 2 Kefta patties, 2 chorizo, 2 pitas, fries, tomato wedges and a healthy dollop of tzatziki. The pita tasted homemade; it was soft, thick without being too think and didn't taste chalky. The skewers were exceptionally cooked...tender, flavorful pieces of chicken and beef. The kefta (lamb & beef) patties had a nice texture, which was enhanced with the herbaceous tzatziki sauce. The only disappointment was the chorizo as it was overcooked and dry. It was easy to overlook as everything else was a shining star. We would go back in a heartbeat....totally made me want to explore more Greek food there!

The reason we went back the second time was because we remembered how good the food was and how nearby it was too. The second time the food was still really good, but the service was HORRENDOUS. Brittney was such a ***** to me and my parents, my mom especially. My mom was complimenting her and something about the food, and she straight up just walked away in the middle of my mom still talking. And no it wasn't busy. It was towards the end of the night, there was maybe 2-3 other customers there. She acted like we were bothering her the whole time. Then once she'd leave us would just stand up at the bar flirting with the other guy working there and just ignore anyone else. Then on top of all of that, my dad tells me she added $10 onto her tip! FRAUD!!! I've attached photos as evidence. My dad still tipped her even though she was so rude and disrespectful. But apparently that wasn't enough for her and added $10 onto the total. I cannot believe that. And my dad tells me it was difficult to get his $10 back after calling and talking to the manager. He didn't get the name of the manager but he said that they were just making excuses and saying oh but she's our best server. Obviously not! Saying things like oh she must've just been really busy. Again, we were there when it was dead and about to close soon, no it was not busy.
