It's a donut. And they serve them. That's about it. There's nothing terrible here, but I struggle to find anything special. The biggest compliment I can give is that they have a pink donut, which is the greatest of the donuts. Most shops don't have them any longer. Aside from that, everything was just average. Nothing bad, but nothing to go out of your way for. I did go slightly out of my way to visit because of the amazing reviews, but was a bit disappointed. Do they make a "0" star rating??? We went in this morning to buy a few donuts with the kids after we left Ralph's. To say the woman (owner) is rude is an understatement. We felt like we were on a hidden camera show because she was so loud and obnoxious; trying to embarrass us in front of other customers. My wife questioned why the $1 charge for using a credit card. She knew most donut stores charge it but it is usually 50¢. Other than that she was just inquisitive... not upset. The owner became irate yelling about how high her rent and bills were. My wife explained to her that my mom had owned a donut shop (Tac-do) in orange which is waaaaay better, and that I had worked there so we were very familiar with how donut shops work. This is thee best donut shop ever. I work in this area and always drop by for maple par or their apple fritters to start the day. I work early in the morning so its a big plus because I usually get the donuts when they're still fresh. I also don't have much time or money so getting a donut is quick plus their donuts are very reasonably priced. My favorite donut is their apple fritter. It is by far the best apple fritter I've ever had in my life. I've been lucky a couple of times getting them fresssh out of the oven and man they are something else! It has the perfect amount of glaze and its sooo biig. When you bite into it you get that great explosion of sweetness from the warm glaze and sweet taste of apples bits. The donut is the right amount of crispy on the outside and the perfect amount of soft in the inside. And when your done with the donut you wont get that oily sugary after taste either. Also, what makes this place unlike other donut shops, when i get the donuts room temperature and not hot out of the kitchen THEY'RE STILL GOOOD! Other days when I'm looking for something smaller to eat i usually get the maple bars. There maple bars are also really great actually. It's a very simple maple donut but its got just the right amount of everything for a quick bite. (My mom who rarely eats sweets even requests them when we're somewhat near this shop) The owner is also a really nice lady. I've talked to her a couple times, but in general she seems to be very interactive with her customers, (once in a while she even throws in a free donut) Anyways if your ever in this part of town and in a mood for a donut, I would highly recommend Kd's Donuts. I used to live down the street from this place and so I'd go there all the time. I agree that the owner can be rude and have an unpleasant attitude, and if I hadn't lived in the area I might have stopped going because of it (which is why I deducted 1 star). If she knows you she warms up over time, if that's any consolation. The other employees are all consistently very nice. The main reason I kept going back, however, was because I haven't found better non-specialty donuts anywhere. They're the best version of regular donuts. They're fresh, the ingredients are high quality, and the texture and taste is always good. Their croissant sandwiches are good too and they were never stale or dry the way they have been at other donut shops I've gone too. It was always clean and fresh. Note that they won't take credit cards for orders under a certain $ amount, so if you're buying under a dozen it's better to just bring cash. There are Wells Fargo and Union Bank ATM's a few stores down. It is a little more expensive than other donut places, but it's worth it to get a good donut. I've been to Dunkin' and Winchell's since, as well as other local donut places, and they're just gross by comparison. read more

I love donuts! All donuts! Stopped in here the other day for a couple donuts and a Diet Pepsi. They have fountain sodas so that is a plus! I noticed the place needs a little TLC. It seems a bit run-down which always makes me question the quality. If they wont spend money to fix the peeling paint and stuff....... humm. I'm not too picky when it comes to donuts.... are there really any bad ones? NO. I got my favorite cake donut with pink (cherry?) icing and French Twist with white icing. Both were good. Maybe even a little lighter/fluffier than other places. Service was quick and friendly. When I opened my bag of two donuts I found she threw in a third! Nice, but oh so BAD!! Here's what won me over about this donut shop. One morning, my husband went to pick up some donuts at KD's. I forgot to tell him that they are CASH ONLY. (He usually doesn't carry around cash) I was half expecting him to return with nothing in hand but he was still able to get our morning donuts. How?? The lady, I'm assuming the owner, just gave him the donuts and told my husband, "Just pay me back next time." Honestly, who does that these days? So, on my husbands word, she let him walk out with a bag of donuts. Luckily, I had cash on me so we were able to go back and pay her right away, but I was won over -- this was our new donut store. This is a great neighborhood donut shop tucked in a shopping center about a mile from our house. It is family owned and operated. We like it because they are friendly and have a good selection. My 21 month old son loves the donut holes. My wife and I are fans of their apple fritters and I also like their crumb glazed donuts. If you get there at the right time you can catch them coming hot out of the oven. Oh how good it smells. Their coffee is ok and they do offer other drink choices.
