Chicken Sheesh Kebab Over Rice & Salad

Kebab Den is a cute little hole in the wall. It's small inside, but there were a few tables to sit at. We stopped by for lunch and enjoyed some kebab and gyros. Everyone enjoyed their food and it was a great price value. Thanks!

A refreshing dining experience with a friendly owner who prepared our food quickly as we waited. The menu is enormous. Outside seating is a plus. Prices are moderate.I would dine here again.

The food was excellent. It leans a bit more towards Indian than Mediterranean. But very good. Greet place to call ahead and pick up!

Chicken Sheesh Kebab Over Rice & Salad

Very kind service, and yummy, fairly priced Middle Eastern influenced food! Keep in mind it's not perfectly "authentic" and I would prefer more usage of aromatics and traditional sauces. Check out "Afoodie T's" review on here as they said everything I would have written here! The ratings below are graded based on the taste of the food, not authenticity. Chicken Sheesh Kabob over rice and salad: 3.5/5 Beef Shawarma Wrap: 3.75/5 Samosas: 4/5 Not pictured: Chicken Gyro special 4/5

I always order the Chicken Sheesh Kebab Over Rice & Salad with extra tzatziki sauce and a Jamaican Beef Patty

Okay, does it look like a dive bar from the outside? Yes. Does it look like a dive when you walk…read morein? Yes. The chairs are all different, the tables are all kitchen tables covered with plastic table cloths. Now, let us discuss the food. The Reuben sandwich was delicious and well cooked. The meatball parm sandwich was amazing with a tomato sauce that made my companion, a Sicilian from New York, swear it was the best sauce she had eaten since she left NY so many years ago. That is a stellar review in itself. I will order the pizza next time--it should be fantastic. I plan on going back next week.

Two things are extra special - the real Old World expresso machine, and Moo Moo the dog. Both are things of beauty and must be seen and experienced face-to-face. Ask John about the beans he uses as he meticulously prepares your coffee (I had a terrific double-shot Americano), and also ask if Corinne wouldn't mind having you meet Moo Moo herself! Highly recommended - it's not far off the highway, with easy access to and from I-95. Service is exceptional, and the staff were happy to accommodate our needs. My wife and I were traveling from Rhode Island with our two Jack Russell terriers; they were intensely interested in Moo Moo in their typical berserker Jack Russell way. They got some special attention too. :)

Once again, Yelpers, you helped me out in finding a great hoagie (ahem, sub) place. We got some…read moresubs for lunch while sitting in bliss at Schoodic Point in Acadia National Park again this week. The owner, Diane, thought she recognized us, but I told her she was mistaken. She then told us the short story of taking over the establishment which used to be next door run by a gentleman for upwards of 60 years. She kept his menu and added to it. Their subs are slightly different in that the meat is on top, and the fillers in the rolls. The wife picked out the #7 - Tourney Time Turkey which has veggies, American cheese, Turkey Chunks, Pepper (Green), and Pickles. I chose the #6 - Blu Ox Roast Beef which has the same toppings but also with Horseradish or Bleu Cheese. All the sandwiches I believe also have raw onions. However, since they are made to order, they can customize your sandwich to your liking. Diane also recommended some homemade macaroni salad or possibly the soup of the day, which today she called "Thanksgiving Leftovers." She said she just made it this morning, and had lots of turkey, potato, and other stuff (but not real leftovers!) We both went with that "soup." She also suggested the homemade croutons instead of crackers to go with it, and we also chose them. She threw in a baggies full of the croutons, and we were quickly on our way. We thankfully avoided the seagulls in Schoodic, and had the soup in the car as it was slightly raining. OMG, this was really a Thanksgiving Gumbo with a lot of flavor and pep. The homemade croutons threw it over the top. I could have just had a few more servings of this instead of the sub. After a couple hours overwatching the Schoodic version of Thunder Hole, we had our subs. My wife and I were a little surprised at the foot long rolls they came on as they had the consistency of being like a hot dog roll instead of what we're used to. The turkey chunks were plentiful and tasty. They are also made daily as they cook whole chickens and turkey breast to cut up for their foods. I could have used more meat and fillers on mine, but it was still quite good. And the seagulls got zip. So 5+ stars for the Thanksgiving Leftover Soup (Gumbo), and 4 for the subs. I'm rounding up due to the very friendly service and I always like to support local businesses when possible. I think there's a bazillion Subways in Maine, but only one The Legacy Sandwich. I'm going with The Legacy Sandwich. $30 for the two subs and two soups. Well worth it.

Owner told me to come back the next day, and he'd buy me one as I had traveled from Presque Isle to try this sandwich. Came back the next day and he stuck to his word. At first the place looked great - except for the lump of plants in a disarray -I'd remove them --…read moreand food seemed fine - some stuff. Wait staff flying thru and bringing dishes minutes after forcing parties to wait to eat. Winter time - icy parking lot - HUGE big truck at doorway - No handicapped was available. Decided to try again - again food straggles out - the prices went up as well - the salad they give for a $25 plate of food is served in a child kitchen dishes set - am I wrong?--- (also went up a $30) Smart TV playing all the magnificent journey the owner went on. Here is a poor town with many people desperately trying to make ends meet. 1. Most can't afford this prices- $30 -requires a real full dish salad - 2. Most people want to be able to enjoy all eateries, fairs, parades, festivals, ice cream stands, food stands instead of running to local bodega for a piece of beef jersey and a beer. 3. The ready made food is ok sometimes but I'd love to have a porterhouse and king crab legs too - and choose to order -- not just what is made for the day. We tried the burrito- they add potatoes- no one ever adds potatoes- and they won't take the out. White potato is inflammatory- can't eat it. Was hoping breakfast items had more Gluten free variety & dairy alternatives: goat milk - lots of goat farms around - all sell goat milk in supermarkets- I checked I think this area suffers enough and everyone should experience a meal in any eatery in Dover Foxcroft- You all represent businesses in the area and the communities people pay your bill(s). I'd love to see more accommodating prices - open every day so ALL MAINERS can find a seat at your establishment. MAke affordable meals as well as your expensive ones ---People should choose. DId you say cake? can you cut a real normal piece? this is not NYC- only place ever served so ski skimpy like yours ---was at Tavern on The Green--NYC Other things distracting- owners sitting with "special or favorite" Again- small town - Owners-Chef should greet and hear compliments from all patrons. All patrons should be able to give constructive criticism on what they are served. I can critique as we had a very successful restaurant and a grocery store. Being part of community- store owners have an obligation to uphold certain business ethics as they enrich the community and the community looks at you and how you handle your staff and your store. We hope to see and hear changes so all people who expressed the issues at your store can walk in and have dinner without breaking the bank or robbing money from Little Lucia's piggy bank. GOD BLESS Be the Example
