I have had my eye on this place for awhile. Conveniently located off Mountain Avenue there's plenty of parking. The interior has so much Indonesian character. It isn't a large place. They weren't very busy on a weeknight. Service is self serve. You order and they bring the food to you. Being from Singapore, Indonesian food brings me back there. I've been to many Indonesian restaurants. I've been to Indonesia. My parents have been here but it's been awhile. I really wanted to like this place. The prices are pretty high for what you get. The food was ok. I will go elsewhere for my Indonesian fix next time. Pastel 3/5 was a bit chewy. It didn't have the flakiness that I like. Nasi Goreng 3/5 it was just ok Otak otak 4/5 pretty close to home. I liked it Laksa 3/5 lacked flavor

Local Indonesian eateries owned by a lovely and friendly couple serving some delicious and freshly made home cooking. Enjoy the chill atmosphere listening to soothing music while waiting for your food to be freshly cooked. They have the best lapis legit slices, which is an Indonesian buttery cake made from dozens of thin layers, similar to a lightly spiced mille‑feuille. When craving for Indonesian pastries, they make some really good ones such as "kroket" which is an Indonesian style croquet, "pastel" which is an Indonesian style empanada, and a few others. Give this place a try and you won't be disappointed. btw they also have good coffee and pandan or ube pancakes.

Cute Indonesian cafe in Upland! We popped by and split the Nasi Kamplit Spesial (special combo rice plate) It easily fed two people and was delicious with beef rendang, turmeric and coconut rice, turmeric fried chicken, spicy egg, a stir fried sweet potato and tofu, and a veggie curry soup. Everything was cooked too order and fresh and we loved every element of our dish. They fry their own scallions and garlic as well which took it to the next level. Come by for some Indonesian home cooking, bakery and drinks!

Went in to order to go since I was in a hurry but this isn't my first rodeo here. The owners are sweet and nice, I was able to speak with them on occasions about my trips to Indonesia and the differences. Sop Bon Tut (ox tail soup) was my lifesaver there so to find a place locally that has the authentic flavors was amazing. They also serve cafe items like coffees and teas, various seating areas and a nice light atmosphere fit for comfort. Curry, authentic (if you've been to Indo) as all the food. I always ask for chopped chilis, Birds Eye for the extra spice, and the turmeric fried rice is always cooked well. This also comes with some rice crackers I believe but that was my snack during the drive.

This is a fantastic small Indonesian cafe that serves authentic and delicious Indo food. When you arrive, you place your order and pay first. The food came out pretty fast and was so tasty. Here's what I got: Special Combo (Nasi Komplit Spesial) - A little bit of everything, and it was SO good. We got it with a mix of rice, and it was such a fulfilling dish. You really can't go wrong since you get to try everything. (5/5) Bakso Tahu Kuah - Loved this meatball soup. The flavors were great, and the mix of soup and noodles was delicious. A must try. (5/5) Nasi Sate Babi (Pork Satay) Plate - I loved this, but my wife and mother-in-law said it was a bit too burnt for them. The flavors were really good though! If you like it a bit charred like I do, you'll enjoy this dish. (4.5/5) Fried Bananas - Wow, this was good. They don't batter the bananas; they just fry them on a pan/wok. Sweet, simple, and delicious. (5/5) This is clearly a hidden mom and pop gem. The owners are super friendly and kind, and there aren't many Indonesian options around the city of Upland. Yes, some dishes are a bit pricey, but they're made well and taste better than many other Indo places I've tried. It's pretty far from home, but if I were in the area, I would totally come back.

4.5 ratings but I'll up it to a 5 because I really enjoy my time here. Kedai is located in a small plaza. They are known for their Indonesian food which is hard to find in this area. The place isn't too big with a couple of tables, mostly tables for two. They do reserved tables. The day we were there, they had a reserved table set up for 8 people. You order and pay upfront. Kedai also sell some pastries. We started off with the Risoles, which is a chicken roll and we also got a banana chocolate roll. Both items were really good. It has good flavors and not oily. We also ordered the Kaya toast which was delicious. For our entrees, we got the Oxtail soup, turmeric chicken wings, beef rendang, and chicken satay. My favorite of all the dish was the chicken satay. The chicken satay was cooked well. It wasn't overly char and you can taste the flavors. The dish also came with a spicy stir-fry tempe and tofu but I thought it was okay but i did love the jalapeno in it. I love that you can choose between regular rice, turmeric rice, or half and half. We went with half so we can taste both. I also enjoy the oxtail soup. The meat just felt off the bone and the soup was very comforting. The beef rendang was okay, it was a bit harder to chew. I really wanted to try their chicken porridge but they were sold out by the time we arrived. Its just something I need to come back for. The service was okay. Be patient. There was just one guy we saw who took our orders and brought out our food. I think he was just super busy. Overall, a great place to come for Indonesian food.

Stopped by recently and had a great experience. I ordered a hot latte along with the chicken skewers and rice, and everything came out really tasty. The latte was perfect and the food was flavorful. What I really liked was the environment. It's not too loud, so it's a great spot if you want to sit down, work, or just relax for a bit. There were plenty of tables available and parking was easy, which is always a plus. The staff were very kind and helpful, and the music playing in the background was calm and relaxing. Overall a really nice place to spend some time. I'll definitely be back.

I really enjoyed The flavors. However, the beef rendang was a little cold. Actually, I had to warm my food up when I got home and it was only a five minute drive. The chicken was hot though; It was cooked fresh and tasted great. The rice was amazing. The tofu was, shockingly, really really good. I'm not a big tofu person. But this was delicious. Their hot sauce/ chili sauce was really good. It tasted like it had fish sauce in it. I'll definitely recommend this place. Only reason I'm not giving them A five star is because it was a little cold.

Ordered online. Got the fried tofu, the rice porridge, and the banana chocolate roll. So delicious!!! This is the second time i've gotten the rice porridge before and it is so good every time. Cannot wait to eat their food again!

I haven't had too much Indonesian food, but every time I've tried it, I've loved the flavors. I'm always up for trying new dishes. A friend found this plate from their amazing reviews. Don't let the unassuming shop in a strip mall deter you. When you first walk in, it looks like a casual coffee shop with a small pastry rack and some snacks. I didn't think much of it at first, but was pleasantly satisfied at the end of the meal! We were all eyeing the Bubur Ayam (chicken congee), but unfortunately, someone ordered the last batch right as we got there. Instead, we tried a mix of pastries and dishes, and everything impressed. My favorite pastry was the chicken risoles. The crust was perfectly flaky with a light, savory chicken and veggie filling. * Kaya toast - 5/5 - Original flavor jam was perfectly sweet and so delicious. I could eat this every day. * Sop Buntut (Oxtail soup) - 4/5 - The flavorful, clear broth with tender oxtail and a side of rice. The broth leaned a bit oily for me, but still very enjoyable. * Rendang Sapi (Beef in coconut milk seasoning) - 5/5 - The sauce was incredible. The beef was a little on the tougher side, but the flavor more than made up for it. Served with fragrant rice and fried tempeh. * Tamarind chicken wings - 4/5 - Juicy, flavorful, and always a favorite for me. * Nasi Kuning Sate Ayam (Chicken satay plate) - 5/5 - Three skewers of perfectly cooked, flavorful chicken served with rice and fried tempeh. I can't wait to come back and try more, especially the pastry selection. A real hidden gem that deserves more attention.

came here before an event and I don't really go to this area often so I was excited to spot this new Indonesian restaurant. not only the place is clean, I feel like they did a good job on maintaining the authenticness of the food. husband and wife who work here are very sweet people and I love supporting Mom and pop shop. Their pandan latte is amazing. I also bought a couple of food for to go. Their bakso goreng (fried meatballs) are amazing! There are plenty of parking in the plaza too :)

This cafe is a gem with unique Indonesian foods, the owner Sebastian was kind and happy to share his culture! He shared the story of how he started as a cafe and how many people requested Indonesian food so he slowly added items to the menu. The food reminded me of dishes with Filipino and Thai combinations. The satay came with a choice of coconut rice or Tumeric rice or half and half. I had hoped to taste something new and interesting and I got my wish! It was so delicious and the portion was generous! The ambiance was quiet with gentle non lyrical music playing soothing jazz like tones! Free WiFi and I got some work done! I can't wait to bring my family here!
