The food tastes super fresh and since it was a busy Saturday afternoon they kept bringing out fresh new trays every 15 minutes. I always love coming to the mall and knowing I'm always going to eat at this spot. I often get the combo of the blackened fish with bourbon chicken. The blackened fish is the best around! I really love how they are not stingy with giving you a hefty amount of food for the price. The fish is usually perfect and tastes even better with a bit of the sauce for the bourbon chicken. I love how the chicken usually tastes like it's charred on the grill but is nice and sweet. For sides, I usually get the noodles and beans and rice. The noodles are big but can be hit and miss but I usually feel that adding a bit of the bourbon sauce makes them fine. The rice and beans could use a little salt. This joint really surprised me! I am usually very skeptical of fast food Chinese establishments at malls but after one taste test I was hooked! The bourbon chicken here is a must have! The chicken was perfectly chargrilled and was moist and had a unique mesquite flavor! Definitely one of the best mall Chinese food spot I've had. They also fill your plate up with a HUGE serving of meat and sides. A normal plate can easily feed two. You really are getting bang for your buck by eating here! No shrimp, no gumbo, no actual red beans and rice, no greens, no crawfish, no white beans, NO NOTHING ! If this place opened in the south it would be called Panda Express! The sides you can select from include these really good potatoes, and in fact you can double up on 'em or get the corn and forgo the rice or noodles if that's not your thing. I could have sworn the Cajun Grill was once a promising chain, around the era of Kenny Rogers Roasters, but somehow it failed, so this may be an independent franchise. It's fast food steam tray mall food at it's near best, so for the price and location, it's hard to beat and I'd say it's one of the top 3 places to eat in the food court. read more

This used to be my go to for food when at this mall. I ordered it through a delivery service today. It has been a few years since I've eaten here and the taste and quality of the meat has severely declined. The bourbon chicken has more fat than chicken and the sauce was watered down and tasteless. It used to be so thick and flavorful. The rice and beans were also bland and flavorless. I also tried the Cajun shrimp for the first time. I realized that the tail was on but did not realize the entire shell and legs were too. Once you remove all that the shrimp loses all its flavor because that's were all the seasoning is. Price has gone up and portions get smaller! A plate of bourbon chicken is now $7.50 after tax. No more discount for the 2nd plate. I was given 30% less steam rice and 20% less chicken. The blacken fish plate was $9.99 before tax which is over $1.90 increase. I guess the minimum wage hike finally hits the consumers. Employees making 20% more is now paying 20% more. Math should be the most important subject in school! Living wage means zero when you can't learn from life. So sad to see people get tricked to stay at a minimum wage job for life! Cajun Grill is one of the main reasons I wake up early on Saturday mornings and shop at Ontario. I personally try to avoid southern food because I don't like things that have too many spices in it. However, Cajun Grill satisfies my tastes because it isn't spice overload. Though my southern friend keeps telling me it isn't authentic, it is the closest to authenticity that my taste buds can handle. I would suggest the bourbon chicken with the cajun POTATOES and the spicy rice. The bourbon chicken is pretty different and unique. Though the chicken itself isn't much, the sauce it's drenched in is something noteworthy. But the thing that keeps bringing me back again and again is the bourbon chicken sauce with the cajun POTATOES. I LOVE potatoes and i think that the cajun potatoes just taste UNIQUE AND DELICIOUS.
