My husband and I tried this place a while ago when we first moved back here, and while the food was okay, the service was absolutely horrible! My husband ordered boiled shrimp, so he asked for a lemon. He was told flatly, no. The server proceeded to tell him that there was a dollar upcharge for a lemon. My review is based on the stuffed shrimp plate. My sides were a side salad plain as it could be, lettuce and tomato, blue cheese dressing, it was below average. The Cajun batter fried boiled potatoes were decent, but nothing to brag about. The main course stuffed shrimp where breaded in plain bread crumbs and over fried. We came on a Saturday around 1:30pm. There was a long line waiting to be seated. We were second in line so decided to wait. We could see there were plenty of empty tables open, but needed to be cleaned. We were in line for about 25 minutes before we were finally seated. Once at our table, the waitress took our drink order, which we never got. While waiting for our drinks, the rest of those waiting in line were seated and got their drinks before us. This place I accidentally came across while shopping at the Sams right off Loyola. I saw a sign with crawfish being 1 99 so I immediately pulled up to the establishment. Unfortunately it wasn't 1 99. I came here to pick up some crawfish because my grandpa said it was the best place in town. All I got was 2lbs to go but the staff was very unfriendly, honestly I wouldn't be back to sit an eat after this experience and I'll find somewhere else to get fresh crawfish from. Customer service is a big part of the deal these days. Feeling rushed and not being attended to is not something I like to experience. Driven by this place several times and finally stopped in for lunch today with fiancé. We were glad we did! Everything was super tasty and the prices are really reasonable. We sat at the bar because there was a wait, and the bartender provided terrific, friendly service. They also have a seafood market in front of you want to buy and go. For our meal, we started with a small order of hush puppies and the bell pepper rings. Both were really good! I ordered the chicken fried steak poboy with a small baked macaroni. It was just delicious! I don't think I've ever had a chicken fried steak so tender before. The macaroni was pretty decent too. My fiancé ordered the shrimp poboy with a side of rice and gravy, which were both really good too. We were both just quite impressed and the bill was just over $30 for all of that food plus two small salads. Tough to beat that. read more

I've given this place opportunity after opportunity to only be disappointed continuously. I'm a true crawfish lover and the idea that the employees look you in the face and lie about the temperature of their crawfish is disgusting. There's a big difference in room temperature and cold... since the pandemic I'm not sticking my hand in a bag or face in the bag... after the worker tells me they are room temperature... felt chilled in the freezer when I arrived home only three minutes away. The atmosphere is "FAMILY", they really try to make you feel like family and it seems like most of the people are from the Kenner area (because of the line). The portions are for people who like to eat and not just take pictures to post. I am a Kenner local, and they are one of my go to restaurants when I have out of town guests. Great food at excellent prices. You get large portions of well-seasoned seafood here. The boiled seafood is excellent and if you're like me and like it hot, they will drop it back in the boil pot to reheat it for you if it has been sitting for a little while. If you go on a Friday get there early or be prepared to wait. The line can be long and the seating in the waiting area is limited. The owner is there working hard and the wait staff is good but not exceptional. Dining room is a bit small with a max occupancy of 50-60 guests with available counter service at the bar. Keeping that in mind, don't be surprised to wait anywhere between 25 to 35 minutes to be seated but according to the locals/regulars who frequent this place, it will be worth it. I ordered the catfish & shrimp combo cooked blackened (spicy) which comes with two sides (parsley potatoes and corn on the cob) and bread. The food came out prepared very nicely and as soon as I consumed the goodies, wow that sure hit the spot! There was a right amount of kick put in the seafood and even in the corn on the cob (who can't resist buttered spiciness?). All for $13.99 plus $1 fountain soda served in an extra large glass... that's certainly one of the best seafood value meals I've had in a long time :) Overall this place is certainly top-shelf with very friendly staff, terrific seafood, great pricing and the nicest locals to interact with... what really more can you ask? To start my shrimp were not fully peeled, fully cooked or coated. Then places on a stale piece of bread passed off as french bread. One bite in had to spit the rest out. The potato salad taste of a gritty texture much like sand. Smelled a bit off as well. Was probably old. The mac n cheese was flavorless with a subpar pass for cheese on top. I'm not expecting a 5star experience but for $24 I'd expect more effort. There are a million of places to get better good. Please do not fall for these ratings. Place is HORRIBLE! read more

I've been to Kenner Seafood a few times- and was surprised I had not previously reviewed it. There are some misses with the food here- namely that it has barely if any seasoning in it. However overall, it is a solid choice and an enjoyable meal. This most recent visit, my husband and I started with the jalapeño hush puppies (delicious) and the fried pickles (pretty good). We each got a side salad, and I got the house made dressing, but didn't love it. It had a bit of an odd taste to it. For our meals, he got a 9-inch fried chicken po boy with Swiss cheese and brown gravy. It was good- once we added a hefty dose of salt and pepper to the chicken. Their gravy is fantastic. I got the half fried chicken plate, with Mac and cheese and rice/gravy. The Mac and cheese and rice were good- again needing a good bit of salt and pepper. The chicken was delicious- perfectly fried with a really nice coating. However, it was the tiniest chicken pieces I ever seen! The drumstick looked more like a drumette. I wish I could give this place 0 stars. The customer service is lacking. They are extremely unprofessional and unsanitary. I waited an hour and a half for a to go order which they got wrong. The entire time the staff is handling money, eating and touching their face, rubbing their nose and then serving the food! No one ever stepped away to wash their hands! That should have been the first red flag... Back to my order... I ordered 3 dozen char oysters... they gave me 2 boxes with 2 half dozens which I noticed when I got home..my mozzarella sticks were drenched in red sauce.. they could have put that in a separate container.. not sure what that was about.. and they over charged me for 2 pounds of crawfish... $18! What?! whatever I called they said they would fix it. I go back today to get my other oysters and remake of moz sticks as well as a few other things I ordered to go today... Well go figure they only gave me 1 dozen, forgot my mozzarella sticks and proceeded to embarrass me Infront of the entire staff by telling me I only paid for 2. I took my food and left as I listen to them call me a liar and talk poorly of me as I'm waking out. I spent over $100 and tipped 20% on a to go order! Went last night with out of town guests. There was 6 of us and the food came out in pieces and was cold. I had the stuffed shrimp which were rubbery and over cooked or old. One of us ordered a salad as the side which didn't come out when asked about it the waitress said the kitchen already put away the salad but did ask if he wanted something else. Fabulous casual Cajun restaurant at a very reasonable price. My wife and I dropped in here for dinner. I had the chicken and sausage combo and she had charbroiled oysters. Both were very good. I also had bread pudding with rum sauce. It was excellent. Very sweet topping on hot bread pudding. The staff was also very nice. This place is nothing fancy. It is a restaurant associated with a seafood market. You get good and fresh food at a very reasonable price because of this. We will be back. read more

Hubby and I live in Atlanta and first found this place on "Around Me" on a visit to see family in New Orleans a number of years back. We have since eaten in and around New Orleans at two Deanie's locations and Zydecos, but we keep coming back to Kenner Seafood, because there is simply none better. We tell EVERYONE about it! The place is so good, they're usually busy, so call ahead to reserve a table. It is all about the FOOD at this very "local" Mom & Pop, neighborhood style establishment. The service is good, and you will be comfortable, dressed casually in a t-shirt and jeans. Try the blooming crawfish (a fantastic, HUGE blooming onion with crawfish nuggets) or the okra. We've really enjoyed both appetizers. Husband and I usually share the deluxe seafood platter. It is more than PLENTY for two good appetites. Every time, we find the seafood is of the utmost freshness, only lightly breaded & cooked to juicy, succulent perfection. Wonderful stuffed crab!!! The jalapeño hush puppies are also divine. We also LOVE the beautiful bread pudding. Crawfish is beautiful, seasoned to spicy/yummy perfection. If you are anywhere near New Orleans airport, you MUST make a trip to Kenner Seafood. Seafood is decent. Every now and then the crawfish is salty. The marinated crab salad is delicious and the oowee good cake is delicious.

Service was a bit slow. Food was okay. I was going for 15 pounds of Crawfish, however they ran out after I ate 2 pounds. Shrimp were okay, needed a little more seasoning and crabs were good. Ok good and service if first time eating in New Orleans. As I watched, food sits too long on counter before being brought to table. Watched server pick food off another plate with her bare hands that was waiting to be delivered to a table and put it on another plate then brought it to a table with children. Couldn't believe it. Went here to celebrate a birthday with the family. We had a party of nine. We were seated at a very comfortable table. We ordered some apps for everyone to share. Ordered onion rings big thumbs up, fried crab caws we all liked them, fried eggplant and stuffed mushrooms. They were aLl delicious not greasy and very tasty. For entrees we had fried shrimp, oysters, shrimp which again fried perfect different batters, crispy and fresh. Also ordered a seafood boat the seafood is served inside a garlic bread oh my that was delicious. For sides we had bake macaroni, garlic spicy potatoes, Cole slaw and potato salad.
