Kenny's cafe in Pacifica is worth the drive. They are known for their egg rolls and hot& sour soup. It's a must order when you visit. The egg roll are fried in batter and so huge and crispy. Along with the duo I had Mongolian beef, walnut & prawns, & crab Rangoon won tons. The Mongolian beef was tasty and had the right amount of onion & green onions. All these great reviews and some friends had told us about Kenny's so finally we tried it last night. Food to go a Chinese dinner for two was the choice. Lady told me 20 minutes, since I live about that far away I figured that worked. I got there and there 1 day waiting tables and trying to get the to-go orders out. Let's say it was 40 minute from call to handing me the food. Lesson learned there. It came with egg rolls, they were odd ball for sure they giant and just way more dough than I needed. Broccoli beef was okay, the broccoli was way overcooked the beef pretty good but little flavor. The kung pao chicken was pretty poor. I think for me this is a lunch plate type place and I still searching for something good where you can get dinner for 2 around $40 bucks and have it really be good. I gave benefit of the doubt as I was really closer to a 2.5 on this but rounded up. read more

We ordered the Chicken Chow Mein, Salt and Pepper Chicken, and Salt and Pepper Fish, and the flavors did not disappoint. The Chow Mein had that perfect smoky, seasoned wok flavor that I love and have been searching for. Every bite was just delicious! To start the service is incredible, I almost believed the wait staff was psychic because it seemed like our order was ready before we even ordered it. The fried wontons were our appetizer and they were good, I would add a little more meat to them. The second entree was House Chow Fun and it was just ok. The noodles were a touch over done. There was an excellent assortment of vegetables and they were the highlight of the entree. Our final entree was Salt and Pepper Prawns and these were the star of the meal. They were piping hot and very flavorful. I will definitely go back. The other thing worthy of note was the value. This restaurant is in the Bay Area and that usually means pricy but these prices were lower than the Central Valley where I called home most of my life. read more

I can't write a "Pandemicaversary Review" without shouting out a big "THANK YOU!" to Kenny's. My in-laws live in Pacifica, so we're constantly driving down there. Is that the incentive to order Kenny's every time we're in Pacifica? Are we eating Kenny's because we're visiting the in-laws or are we visiting the in-laws because we want Kenny's? Minor details. The point is that, if you're craving AMAZING Chinese food and want to spend a few seconds chatting with the most sweetest lady at the counter, AND get a meal for the whole family in minutes, WITHOUT breaking the bank... Kenny's. For the last year, the "Oh snap, what's for dinner?!" phrase as been thrown out at 5:59pm way too many times. Kenny's has saved us. Why must they throw in fried crab and cream cheese wontons. Why?! Ugh, so good. I even have "our order" in my notes on my phone because I don't want to forget a single item when I call in. Consistently delicious, always friendly, with fortune cookies for days. This review is for catering order. I ordered Walnut Shrimp, Veggies & Tofu, and Salf and Pepper Pork. 3 large treys for about $350. After hosting a party for about 75 people Walnut shrimp was all gone, salt and pepper pork all gone. and Veggies & Tofu half gone. The order was ready when i arrived. Everything was in good order. I've been searching for a Chinese restaurant in the Daly City/SSF/Pacifica area, and this one hit the spot. The staff were so friendly-- I felt like I was going over to my high school friend's house and her Chinese mom was making us lunch. Since I didn't know what to order, the staff was patient and also gave suggestions, including their specials. I went with the shrimp and veggies lunch item. It was delicious and decently priced. I also appreciate that the food was not greasy or made me feel gross after most Chinese take out food make me feel. One thing I noticed is that I am used to at Chinese restaurants is that servings are usually packed on, and though they didn't skimp, it was less than I was expecting. However, it was enough to get full. The restaurant is very clean and community oriented. You'll see a wall with the local kids sports team the restaurant sponsors. Overall, the food was great, the service was friendly/prompt, and the ambiance was clean and just had great energy. It's a mom and pop place that's no frills, and I appreciate that. There's not many old school places like this that serve classic Chinese and American food in the same restaurant. I mean separate, American food, like ribs, burgers, steaks and fries. Also, on the menu are American Chinese food favorites, like sweet and sour pork, honey walnut prawns and won ton soup. In the old days, I'm told, unless you were in Chinatown, many of the Chinese restaurants in the suburbs or other parts of town, served BOTH American and Chinese food, since maybe they wanted to get business from the mainstream customers that might not necessarily want Chinese food but home American comfort foods, like meat loaf and mashed potatoes. Well, here at Kenny's Cafe in the little coastal town of Pacifica, you can get both! Though from what I observed, most of the room full of non-Asian customers were all dining on Chinese food and a few Asian customers had American food in front of them! All the food here looked really tasty and well done by the kitchen. Even the hair place next door gets take out food here. Most of all the reviews here are for the Chinese food. We sat in a nice booth and looked over the menu. Classic old school Chinese dishes were on offer, like tomato beef chow mein, egg foo young and salt pepper pork. Also on the menu were all the mainstream American Chinese dishes like beef with broccoli, honey walnut prawns, egg rolls, fried rice and won ton soup. You won't find any super authentic Chinese dishes here, like something from the tide pool and wonder what the hell is that? All the food here is saw on tables looked real good. We decided to go American, well, just cause we could in a Chinese restaurant. Double Bacon Cheeseburgers! served with fries of course. Dinners on the American side included grilled pork chops, NY steak, pork ribs and even chicken fried steak! Breakfast is served all day as well, as I did see one table with an omelet and hashbrowns, along with General's Chicken and steamed rice! Our burgers arrive in decent time by our friendly server speaking perfect English. Holy bustin' burgers! Those burger patties are huge!, looks like maybe 1/2 pounders. If I knew the meat was so big, I'd of only ordered a single patty burger. Also on the plate were tomato, lettuce and steak fries. My fave are the steak fries, big and fat! Mayo comes on the burger, so if you're anti-mayo, let 'em know! I could barely open my mouth that wide ... and I can open pretty wide! See pics! We didn't ask or were asked how we wanted the meat cooked, so it just came out well done. It still tasted good with a slight charbroiled flavor. This monster burger was just $9.95! All the prices are very reasonable here even for the Chinese food. Ahhh, when my favorite Chinese spot (Rice and Roll) closed down a while back I was devastated and did not know where to go. Then I saw the reviews and pictures of Kenny's on Yelp and decided to try it........Did not disappoint at all. I called in an order for pick up, good customer service on the phone (+), I got a few things, all great. One of my items I had a special request for, the beef chow fun, I requested no bean sprouts (yuck, imo) and if they could make it spicy. Not a big deal, but sometimes those little things get overlooked. Nope! Everything was perfect, no sprouts in sight and nice and spicy, but not too much. The other dishes were great as well and they threw in some Krab Rangoon, a pleasant and delicious surprise!!! Glad I tried Kenny's, a great experience, a bit out of my way, but worth it. I go to the archery range in sharp park and a friend and Co shooter raved about this place and said it was the best Chinese food in pacifica so we went there for lunch specials. It was not very good. I had Kung pao shrimp and they give you a choice of white or fried rice. I chose the fried .bad choice it appears to be rice with a ton of soy sauce and nothing else i think the worst fried rice ive ever had. The Kung pao had nice fresh ingredients and looked good. Fairly small portions. Absolutely bland no spice. I live in San Francisco and frequently have Chinese food. I would not go back here. I gotta give props to local businesses that gives back to the community. I don't know how long Kenny's Cafe has been around, but I'm guessing it's been a while based on the plaques in their restaurant. The place it's not much to look at from the outside, and it appears they built a section of what appears to be an old supermarket that's been converted into several different types of businesses. Based on their patrons, it's mostly a place for locals that eat here that serves your typical Chinese-American food. Hey, it's not the best Chinese food, but it's satisfying enough for their regulars to come back over and over again. I'm not hatin', but just appreciatin' small businesses like these who cater to their community. Think about it? How American really is Chinese food? And let that marinate for a second. I see a small mom-and-pop shop with hard-working people who have taken down roots in this community the best way they know how, and be a part of it. Maybe I came on a bad night/ I ordered their combo chow mien that cost me 17.00 for a posted for 10.00 dish. The combination chow mien dish was basically Ramon noodles over cooked squished together, it looks like a pudding mess with some shrimp and watered down beef and some chicken strips like lunch meat in a real unsatisfactory plate of Asian food / with little of no flavor. I was very dissatisfied and reading the other nice reviews, maybe I just came on a bad night/ but do not order their combination chow mien special it is a complete mess and mosh it's like eating pudding noodles read more

Drove up from Moss Beach to get takeout from Kenny's and it was so good! This restaurant is such a gem on the coast - delicious and a great value. The owners are also so nice, it was such a pleasant experience. My friend and I got the fried rice, shrimp pan fried noodle (Hong Kong style), and the beef broccoli. With the free crab wontons that were also delicious we had more than enough food for the both of us. The beef broccoli was my favorite - so much broccoli and perfect flavor - fresh and tasty. I LOVE KENNY's CAFE!!!! Definitely my go to restaurant to eat Chinese food in Pacifica. (Not to say the other restaurant are not good). But every time I come here, the food is always consistent, good portion size, friendly staff! My only "complaint" is they have more space/seating to dine in! It gets packed quick because people know this restaurant is good and also I noticed it's a restaurant who have your regulars, which means they don't disappoint. Decor-very bland with little effort. Service-ok, they were nice but didn't bother to refill our drinks or check to see how we were doing. Food-disappointing. Ordered a variety of dishes to get a wide selection of food. Chicken fried rice was ok. Chow mien was very bland. Beef brócoli was too salty. Orange chicken was good.
