I am finding things wrong with the food. The hot food breakfast sandwich is tough like shoe leather. The breakfast bakes are on top of a massive amount of soggy tater tots. I found another hair in my food the size of the burrito. It wasn't hidden and was hanging out of the wrapper. As I unrolled the burrito it showed more and more. I tried to pull on it and it snapped off so who knows how long the whole thing was. Obviously garbage so it was a waste of money and time. For your health and safety I would suggest you avoid this establishment. They do have coffee but it's like water. It's a shame because it is nice people.

The prices are on the high side (this is Alaska, after all), but they carry just about everything you could ever need or want. There's even a small section that sells generic Alaska souvenirs if you need to pick up something for the folks back home.

The dudes working in there had huge beards and were burly, they looked exactly like what you'd think Alaskan mountain men would look like, which was pretty cool. They were friendly but a little intimidating! The inside of this store is old and rundown, with inventory boxes lying about and stuff crammed everywhere! Flyers about local events, fundraisers, and hunting and fishing restrictions were plastered all over the front windows. The prices, as you'd expect due to the remote location, are very high. I can't remember what I paid for a soda, but it was a lot. It was cold and didn't have an expired "use by" date, so I consider that a win. The place felt a little sketchy, and I would avoid it at nighttime or maybe if you are a female traveling alone. I didn't feel unsafe, but it made me a little uneasy shopping here based on the clientele hanging around outside. I know that sounds snobby, but I'm just trying to be honest. In March…read more2023, however, I had the absolute worst customer service of my life with the clerk behind the counter who, I noticed was already agitated and talking loudly as I entered the store, proceeded to complete lift-off when I went to the counter. 34.5 years in healthcare and I never had a patient interaction like that, much less a customer service interaction. I tried diffusing the situation without result. I should have left the fancy booze on the counter and just walked out, but I was so taken aback I simply made the purchase on auto pilot and got out of there. Moving forward, I will give all of my business to Breeze-In (their Lemon Creek location has a superior selection of liquor, wine, and beer anyway) or, if I need something beyond what they offer, I will lug it up from Seattle.
