After reading the 'meh' reviews I really didn't expect much so I was surprised that the staff was helpful. We had 9 kids and we came in with a Groupon, which included ice skating and mini golf. Unprofessional and rude staff. Dingy and outdated arena. Most of the Google one star ratings mention the poor customer service and I now understand why. Their attitude is unprofessional and both the girl and man working the front desk are smug and shouldn't be in customer-facing positions. If you don't allow outside cakes, alright. But as soon as I said, "oh I thought it said it was okay online," the front desk girl rudely said, "ACTUALLY, it doesn't. It CLEARLY says that we don't allow outside food on the website". We checked again and couldn't find it on the website and they wouldn't show us where it said it. Either way, they just needed to be nice about it... You're better off at the Renton or Pierce county arena - nicer staff and the Pierce county has ice bumper cars. read more

Don't come here if you want ANY sort of organized lesson. It's like a cattle call - pay 165$ to let your kid stand around. And if you try and bring it up with Lexi the manager he will say I can do anything more - if you try to bring to his attention that maybe your kid needs to be moved on to next class he will say that's bullshit. I'm so disappointed as we've been coming here now for 15 weeks of lessons and have referred friends and family. To be treated so rudely after spending I've 500 here is horrible. OK I should be nice since this is my home rink for Rec League hockey. The ice rink itself is very nice and has a really good seating area. The locker rooms are a decent size and if the sinks did not have water pressure issues I would say they are the best I have used in the Seattle area. The benches, walkways and penalty box have good rubber and are semi well clean. The only issue I have is the the actual ice surface. For as cold as this rink is I am amazed at how soft the ice is. Also the Zamboni drivers are worst I have ever seen. I have never seen so many unscraped sections of ice so consistently. It is not like the corners are missed a little here and there. There are entire central sections missed. Whatever Renton does to there ice, Kent needs to take a class from. Overall it is a good rink and you can do worse...Kingsgate read more

I HATE to start with an 'eh' for a place that I have only been to once... but it didnt blow my mind. I found it to be a little pricey. 10$ per person basically... and that doesnt include skates. I paid for 3... and I think it was 34$. The staff while getting the skates, was... Um.. younger, and didnt seem to want to be there. But I dont expect super great service. The rink was great. smooth and appealing. One thing that would be really nice, if there was another entrance to the rink. It gets a little crowded with the littles ones and the wall huggers. The music was great! All upbeat bubble gum pop... kept the kids happy. AND made me forget how cold I was. My kids wandered into one game room (we didnt know that there was two)... out of the 8 machines, only 5 worked.. and 1 out of the 5 had a really dim screen. We didnt see the other game room until we were leaving. (sad frown) We didnt go upstairs, but the other parents said it was warm. We left after 2 hours, but if we hadnt had lunch before, I can see going upstairs to warm up and then coming down later to finish out the entire session. I would like to come back again, my kids had a good time... it would just have to be a payday weekend. read more

Service is the worst! It was as if we where inconveniencing the girl (green sweatshirt, and black pants, that was there sat at 430pm, may have been the owners daughter) at the front end by asking questions....spent over 300 for a party there. I purchased a groupon deal and along with the deal was a $15.00 voucher for food. Checking out the food menu and noticing it was bit pricey for a 14" pizza and any toppings $1.60 I believe, any who I ordered a pizza and garlic frys at 3:38pm Pizza didn't arrive until 4:20pm they forgot the garlic frys -.- !! I've been here a few times and I definitely have enjoyed myself each time. Out of all the rinks that I go to watch my boyfriend or some of our buddies play hockey, this is definitely my favorite. Its big, plenty of seating, and the best part is the cafe. I for one, freeze my butt off and am a total wuss when it comes to being cold. So its nice to be able to go up to a cafe, eat, have a few drinks and stay warm while watching these guys. The guy who works up in the Cafe, Eric I think, is awesome. He was way cool to me and made sure I had everything I needed before he closed down shop. There are a ton of games, (pool, darts, skee ball...etc) which is always fun! Definitely like coming here to watch over all other places, hands down. read more

My husband spends a lot of time in Kent Valley for rec hockey, and its one of the better ice rinks in the area. I like the viewing area in the restaurant so I can relax and enjoy a beer or two. The putt putt course out front and batting cages around the side are also fun and never terribly crowded. The pro-shop is ok, the locker rooms are a little beat up and the ice itself isn't bad to skate on. Not a bad place to go for a date night (open skate). read more

Fun place all round. I'm not a big skater, but great place to bring the kids. Be sure to bring your helmet, though. Everyone falls eventually, as i did years ago. Even if you're a perfect skater, someone else will crash into you sooner or later. Nice facilities for snacks, pro shop, and pretty affordable. I am rating this facility 3 stars because I LOVED their miniature golf course. It is clean, well maintained, and offers some challenging holes. You can bypass the 18th hole and take your ball inside to try your hand at Plinko. If your ball lands in the designated slot, you win a free round of mini golf! I won and will be back to use my coupon for sure. If you are looking for miniature golf in Kent, definitely come to Kent Valley Ice Centre instead of the Riverbend Golf Complex. RGC's mini golf course was poorly maintained at the time of my last visit. I have only been here once to ice skate and found their skates incredibly painful to wear. They may have improved them since, but because of this reason I will drive to Renton to ice skate from now on. read more

Reminiscent of a backyard putt putt...Nothing fabulous at all. It looks like no one really takes care of the course. We paid $8.00 for a Groupon for 2 players so I guess you get what you pay for. I have skated at 2 other arenas, and I am very pleased to get my ice time here. Sure there are some snags, but those are small compared to the big picture. This place is not enforcing the mask mandate at all. At least half of the people there were either not wearing a mask or wearing it with their nose and mouth uncovered. I got a Groupon for skating and skate rental for 4 and was pleased; while the staff weren't overly friendly or engaging, they weren't rude... just sort of there doing the basics. The ice is nice and smooth - but it wasn't very crowded the day we came, so I'm not sure if that would be true an hour into a busy session. The piped in music is really cheesy, but that's a minor thing and its not so loud that you can't tune it out. I understand the 1 and 2 star reviews for the mini-golf, passing the course on the way into the ice rink, it looked like a sad afterthought / added attraction. These people are happy to rip you off. $12.50 for a ninety minute session without rental, but you're lucky if they give you ninety minutes. They frequently open the doors to the rink five or ten minutes late. Last time I was in there on December 20th 2019, the rink was packed, and they forced everybody off the ice 15 minutes before the session ended just so they could cut the ice early. You pay for 90 minutes but you get what they give you. Also there is no drinking fountain accessible to skaters, you have to take your skates off if you want to have a sip of water. read more

We love miniature golf! But this course sucks. It was poorly maintained with bark all over the course. It was hard to play that way. Small course too. Would not go there again. Plenty of better courses in the area. Definitely a disappointment. read more

The staff is great and building is nice for being an ice rink. I have played in many old barns across Canada and the U.S. The Zamboni drivers are garbage and the boards need to be chipped edged and straightened out. The ice needs to melted so they can re paint and they need to work on leveling the ice you can clearly tell that it is a bowl shape not flat or level. It appears to be 3 inches in some places at 1/4 inch in others when good competitive ice should be 3/4 of an inch thick. The restaurant is ok a little over priced but no competition means they can charge what they want the pro shop has nothing. All in all over priced for drop in and public skate and I have not wanted to play there often due to the awful playing conditions and high prices. read more

This skating rink is pretty nice. When you come in for the public skate session, they have the entrance blocked, so that you pay before you go in. I really appreciated how the skate rental is a separate fee, as I have my own skates. They seemed to just have one rink. There were many employees around supervising. Everytime someone fell down on the ice, they checked if that person was okay. That is something I don't see everyday. The employees wear bright reflective jackets so you know. They also had a cafe that viewed the rink, it was interesting. I will complain though, the rentable skates were very cheap and crappy. So beware. But other than that, it's a well run rink. read more

Batting cages pitch super inconsistent. Takes forever to start, had to push the button over and over. Lights don't work so you don't know when pitch is coming. Difficult to just watch the machine hand. Wish there was a better facility in the area. Felt it was quite expensive for the poor quality. read more

My daughter wanted to go ice skating with a friend and I figured I'd pay the $7 and use the "fitness centre" while they were skating. First all the equipment is in a state of disrepair, that I wouldn't feel comfortable using it. next the forms they want you to fill out to use the fitness equipment wants keep keep my CC on file...for a DAY PASS!!! I was able to get her to not have me fill it out, but then they also wanted other personal info. I asked how they protected my info and they lady said she didn't know. I asked her if she could find and she told me "NO". General rule in this "day and age" if someone wants personal info and doesn't know how they protect it STAY AWAY! read more

Decent facility and is quite roomy. If you're looking for a nicer ice rink, this place has the bells and whistles. They have arcade games, a pizza place, hockey store, outdoor mini golf, batting cages, etc. My kids learned to ice skate here when they where 4 and 6. That's when I realize they are only good with what you see on the outside. When you dig in deeper to enroll in a complicated program like hockey where USAA membership, birth certificates, uniform sizing, questions about opting out of thefund raising, the e-mail trail goes cold. We contacted this gentleman Danny and his brand new assistant for about 2 years. However, they are never unreachable. I even attempted to drop off the paperwork in person but this gentleman doesn't even have a mailbox. Keep in mind the program is not cheap. This could easily be the easiest income for the facility if they follow through. My husband also told me that the kids hockey program is not that great. It seems they have diffuculty looking for volunteer coaches. Should you attempt to enroll your kidsin the hockey program, they might not ever get in at all. We tried. We really did. However, it was pointless. We ended up in Renton. read more

Good ice that is frequently cut well too. The sheet is cold enough that even an over-flood freezes pretty quickly. You can't drink in the locker rooms, though, which is a bummer. They do have a bar/restaurant overlooking the ice from behind a goal that has a good and cheap beer selection. The concrete bleachers are very quite chilly and should not be used for sitting, that's why there's a bar duh. read more

Booked a birthday party for my 13 year old. KVIC was great to deal with from beginning to end! The staff was very attentive thru the entire party! My kid and her friends had a great time! And the price was very reasonable. The pizza and salads from the cafe were awesome! The miniature golf is nothing to brag about but it's an ice rink first anyway. This place has no idea what "customer service or customer relations" means. Not well run at all.

I spent many days over many years skating and watching my brother play at this ice skating rink. But it has very much changed and has lost its shine. I will not be returning despite all of the history I have there. Recently, 10 of my friends and I decided to pull our money together and go ice skating so we can get the $1 discount. After we payed and got stamped one of my friends had forgotten to lock the doors. So before he had even gotten his skates and steps onto the ice, he quickly left the rink to lock his doors. Upon returning he had to pay an extra $5 fee because he left for no more than three minutes to lock his doors. How ridiculous?! $5 is nearly half of the regular entry fee! I have been attending this rink since I was a child and have never experienced anything like this! Later we called and asked about the situation to find out about the fee and why we were charged. They claim that they do not have enough staff to keep the criminal activity that happens in the rink (underage drinking in parking lots, etc) under control. So they believe this extra charge will help, but, it is easy to get back in through their cafe without going through the regular entrance, ultimately destroying their intentions and forcing the honest people to pay the extra fee. They also claim that they tell everyone about it when they first check in. We were not told of this hidden fee when we bought our tickets so we were very much unaware of this and shocked when it happened. This rink is not family friendly or even a place I would take my friends. Criminal activity happens in the rink/parking lot and they don't have enough staff, everything is priced extremely high and the water fountain barely trickles out any water, the music is hard rock and it is hard to hear anyone speak (so don't expect any music that has been played on the radio). I highly suggest you go to Sno-King ice rink, for it is in a better and safer location, prices are cheaper, and the environment is much more cheerful and friendlier. read more

Kent Valley Ice Centre is a pretty good ice rink. The ice was cut well, although there were a few places that were bumpy (in a way that wasn't created by skaters going over it). The only negative I had was that it took forever to get skates. We got there before the rink opened to the public. But even after the posted open time, it seemed like we were waiting. There was a large carton of ice skates right in front of the check-out window, which made it a little awkward to get around. The staff was ok. They were generally pretty helpful, even if they did take their time doing menial tasks. But overall, I'd still go back. read more

Came out with my son to practice hitting in the batting cages. We moved in between 2 different cages and had problems with both jamming. We had to get someone to unjam them 4-5 times. With just our first 4 tokens. They either need to do some serious maintenance or upgrade the entire cages. Very disappointed! Ended up leaving with half our tokens still. read more

This is the worst run ice rink in the Pacific Northwest. The staff hates this place and their attitude towards the customers show it. I finally decided to stop going there after dealing one too many times with the rink manager, Rena Sullivan. She is rude, mean, nasty and belligerent. Why anyone would put her in charge of anything is beyond me. Our kids constantly were shuttled between coaches in the learn to skate program because so many coaches keep quitting. With this buffoon running the show, it is understandable why. I heard through another family the owner of the rink is near bankruptcy and gouges the public by splitting up the Saturday afternoon public sessions into two to get more money and the hockey program is twice the cost of the program at the old Cascade Ice Rink in Renton. read more
