AVOID THIS RINK!!!! It's overpriced, you may show up for sessions or classes that are canceled with no warning, you may get your skates sharpened and returned with no rocker left on them, the facility itself is often way too cold throughout and the overall upkeep is poor (bathrooms = gross!!!!!). Perhaps more importantly, the people running the show are completely unprofessional, from an unqualified "skating mom" with no credentials teaching learn-to-skate classes to the so-called "managers," who are simply incompetent business people who can't seem to keep a qualified staff working for them for any length of time. If you prepay for sessions, you may be charged for sessions you didn't skate, they don't give refunds, and they make up and change "policies" on a whim as it suits them. With so many other options for skating in the Puget Sound area, there's absolutely no reason to waste your time and money here. read more

The absolute worst rental skates I've ever seen in a skating rink, roller or Ice. I'm 60 years old and have seen a few. They are plastic and coming apart with laces that are mismatched and tied in knots making them too short and one pair ( I tried 3) had a lace that was so long I had to wrap it around the ankle. Employees are nice enough but how can you enjoy skating with bad skates??? I would be embarrassed to hand these to someone for free let alone charge for them. I suffered through just to have my granddaughter have fun her first time but unless I buy skates or they upgrade the rentals I'm never coming back. read more

Their batting cages are a bit wacked. The softballs tend to gather in front of the cage furthest to the left, leaving all the other cages throwing blanks. Had to ask their worker for 3 credits. No desire to go back any time soon. read more

This used to be a much nicer rink it keeps progressively going downhill. The skating prices are expensive, facilities are constantly in disrepair, the cafe which was one of the last remaining high points has now turned to crap it used to be you waited forever to get your food, but it was at least very good, now it takes forever and it's not even worth the wait read more

I had a Living Social deal to try this place out and it was so much fun!!! The kids and I had a blast and the staff was incredibly nice & helpful. It looks well maintained & clean. The ice was smoothed out when needed and wasn't too crowded, even during the Winter break. The rink has a Pro shop to purchase skating related items, equipment and clothing, as well as skate repair/blade sharpening. There is also a cafe and seating area upstairs, the hot cocoa was good, but the cafe mocha, not so much. There are video games and other arcade games to play for those who may not be into skating or want to take a break from the skating action. Though I didn't use while I was there, they offer miniature golf & batting cages. Prices were pretty reasonable and you can purchase gift cards, if you purchase the $100+ gift cards, you can save 10% on regular priced items. Overall a fun time, and a great way to burn off some energy & calories, especially on a rainy day. read more

The good: Great place to skate. We've done figure skating and hockey and the instructors are knowledgeable and professional. Open skate is a blast. The bad: They lose two stars for their cafe. The service is slow, the food is terrible and the establishment makes it very clear that you are not to bring in any food or drink. The ugly: Back to the cafe. We came in a rush last week. I needed coffee. It took 20 minutes. We ate lunch and split a hot dog and fries. The fries were actually delicious, but the hot dog was rubber. (Previously cooked hotdog reheated in the microwave maybe?) And, it still took 30 minutes to get it. read more

I would not advise this ice rink to anyone. My step-son who plays hockey for Tacoma went here for a three day hockey/day camp. During his time there he was hit, cursed at and threatend all while the staff was on ice. After the first time he mentioned this I went in to talk to the staff. The young man I soke with agreed that there had been some issues and agreed being hit with a hockey stick in the head was not appropriate. He said that he would address with the responsible person. Today he was sent to the office to await my wife to pick him up (without a call to either of us). She was told he is not welcome back. When I called to inquire about the issue Dan was rude and unwilling to discuss. He said "we are not saying it is him but this is not a good fit and do not want him back". While I realize that there are always two sides to any issue and that he has fault in this as much as others. What causes alarm is that he was dismissed with no investigation by the personnel that was in place to watch over him. There was no adult supervision and the staff was rude. I will NEVER skate at Kent and will advise all I talk to to do the same. I too play hockey for RHL and many of the parents with children have had similar experience with the staff of Kent. This establishment is a far cry from a family establishment and should be considered with care. For my family, we will drive to Tacoma before skating at Kent. read more

I came there with family and we spend good time there. Stuff were very friendly and welcoming. Prices weren't high. Their skates for rent were in good condition. Also we visited cafe, inside of ice center, food was pretty tasty. I think that is the best skating rink in WA and I'll definitely come there again. read more

decent place for a batting cage in the south-end. not too expensive if you buy 6 tokens. however some of the machines tend to throw crappy balls at times and there goes some of your pitches. read more

Extremely poorly run, took my son to a hockey camp this summer. The 'coaches' were uninterested in being there as they played Pokemon go on the ice instead of instructing. Kids used their hockey sticks as weapons on the ice and in the locker room again with no care or correction by the 'coaches'. Our family use to skate at this facility but after seeing how unprofessional the venue actually is we won't ever return again. read more

Great facility, having traveled the Seattle metro area going to the other rinks they pale in comparison. Facility was clean, excellent staff, and the food & beer were not only good but cheap. They have batting cages and miniature golf there also. They could use heat in the bleachers but it's an ice arena I guess it has to be cold. read more

Great to go ice skate, but very poor customer service. Once, my friends and I went to go ice skating 15 minutes before they close, thinking that they will be open for another hour. The gal selling us the tickets, took our money, $50 total, not even caring to warn us that it's going to close here soon, and that they changed their ice skating schedule. The lady which gives out the skates told us. So we went to get our money back and I guess goodbye to our money - they're not giving it back to us. Jerks. read more

Today i had a date night planned for me and my husband her at the rink. Previously i had purchased a groupon for 2skate rentals and a $10 cafe credit. About a year ago i borough our son here to redeem the voucher but that day the only thing open was putt golf. The women at the counter apologized and offered to exchange our $10 cafe voucher for golfing instead. She then gave me a receipt to verify this and a hand written note on the printed out groupon voucher i presented. She told me we could come back on a future date to redeem the skating -the food amount. I said awesome! I have kept that voucher and receipt for over a year.... Today when i went to redeem it i got the worst customer service. Not only did they not honor the receipt and voucher but the lady made me feel like it was my fault cause i used the $10 food portion for a round of golf. I left in tears and our date night was ruined!! We have kids and we will never come here again! So upset and disappointed in the service we received. Would it really have been so bad to just honor $20 worth of skating? We are honest people who felt like we were made out to be robbers. read more

Last Saturday as we were leaving my daughter told me she would rather go to another ice rink because of how the older lady with the black hair is really rude how she talks to customers. As if she's agitated. I would like to say this place could be decent if every Saturday when I walked outside to leave after the first public session with my daughter I didn't look over to the right side by the batting cages and see the girl with curly hair from the office and the young teenagers on the ice helping the kids out smoking and listening to loud cursing rap music. ONE if you have a business you should really watch how your employees are showing your customers how you really run your buisness. My first thought it would be that what they're smoking and how they're acting that it isn't cigarettes but I don't know that for sure this place had four people outside smoking cigarettes that were employed there once before and one of them was the manager Rena.
