I was met by a very friendly person who was very patient as I navigated through the menu that I knew nothing about I finally settled on a latte and she made it exactly how I asked it to be made. If you're in town, whether you're local or a visitor it's worth the time to come inside here. This is a perfect bookstore with a wonderful coffee experience. Made a pitstop in Frankfort, Kentucky for some morning coffee and decided to try this spot after reading the Yelp reviews. It's a quaint, cozy, and intimate coffee shop where you can grab a book or magazine, slow down, and take a little break from life. The prices are reasonable... a large and a small coffee came to about eight dollars. I ordered a breve, and since I can be a little particular about my lattes, I don't think it's fair to judge them on how mine turned out. That said, I'd definitely recommend making a stop here for the warm ambience, friendly service, and a good cup of coffee. read more

Stopped in here today for a quick coffee and a bite as a Frankfort visitor. The Chai I received was super sweet and not hot so I politely asked if they could redo it. I received an eye roll and a rough response but they said they would. I waited over ten minutes while they waited on over 10 people before they did so, and they just placed it on a counter and did not even tell me it was ready. When I asked if it was mine the guy just nodded and walked away. Coffee shops are usually friendly, warm and provide good service. I hope they were just having a bad day but my experience was horrible. There were other issues I won't go into, but I hope management sees this and addresses this employees behavior. read more

Had to come to Frankfurt for my DMV test I finished and passed it. Me and my roommate wanted a coffee. To celebrate it I got an iced tea. And my roommate got an iced chai when they gave me my iced tea, I expected it to be sweet. It wasn't. They told me to add sugar in it that. they don't make sweet tea only unsweet and then it wasn't the same when I added the sugar so I just asked for a refund then he proceeded to tell me that food refunds do not exist. my roommate tried to diffuse the situation because the owner seemed very angry about a five dollar refund. He then proceeded to roll his eyes and when my roommate told him to have a good day, he ignored my roommate and we grabbed our stuff and left. If you wanna have a good experience at a coffee store in Frankfort I wouldn't go to this one. I would go to the one down the street it has 4.9 stars. wh read more

Was looking for a coffee shop in Frankfort and this was a great find. Was able to have a zoom meeting and get a nice coffee here. Lots of comfy seating options. We enjoyed the s'mores latte (pictured) which was yummy, more on the chocolatey side. The blueberry scone warmed was really yummy. All their baked goods looked freshly homemade. We also had the bourbon hot chocolate was strong but what you'd expect from what it is. If you like bourbon then you'll enjoy this. Lastly, I'm from Cali and my Kentucky born partner had me try the Ale8 flavors orange cream and ginger ale, which was a good experience to taste local soda, but I'm not a big soda drinker in general. This place is such an interesting spot for the area, we came to Lexington for my bachelorette and were needing coffee and break after Buffalo Trace. This seemed like the only coffee shop in the area so we figured we would give it a try. This is so eclectic. They style is fun and very thrifted - all their tables were old Chili's tables! We loved the recycled theme. The decor was so interesting and unique, like they just find fun thrifted things and add it. We loved it. It is definitely an older building and not in pristine, clean condition, but that was okay with us. It reminded us (including the smell haha!) of our OG hippie grandmas house. Definitely feels like something you'll find in California. They had a line the whole time we were there so don't expect this to be a quick experience. They make everything there though. We got a couple sandwiches and I thought everything was super good, no one complained. I really loved how customizable they make it. Coffee was fantastic, they know how to pull a great espresso shot, had TONS of flavors, used high quality coffee, and even had tons of alternative milk options. It was a nice surprise. We came here for a coffee and possibly something to eat, however after seeing everything on the inside we settled on just a iced coffee and mocha, so far food poisoning hasn't set in. We started to get a little scared when we seen a pile of pre-made sausage biscuits in a cooler in the front counter and then what looked like quiches coming out and being placed in the sink for washing dishes. What pushed this place over the edge......in a bad way, was while we were in line an Orkin pest control man came out of a closet next to where we stood in line to order and then he proceeded to spray around the outside of the front door. This coffee shop had the most reviews in town, so my sister and I decided to check it out before heading to the Capitol Building. Parking is parallel around here. We didn't find open spots in front, but found some on a street almost perpendicular to it. It's a cute area! Historical and such. It's also connected to shops on either side which you can access from inside if you don't feel like going out. It's a big, long room. Plenty of tables too! Their espresso machine was down, so I opted for coffee. I got the Bourbon Ball. Yum! It had a great smell to it! Tasted great too! My sister got a medium roast coffee, but I can't recall the name. Loved this little local coffee shop! Our group (10 people) showed up at opening on Sunday morning...wearing witches hats...and I'm sure the staff were mildly terrified. But we went to the back of the café (plenty of room) to be out of everyone's way. The staff was patient and helped all of us. We enjoyed the space, the drinks, the food (which they brought to us...we didn't have to go up front and get it), and the friendly service. I really wanted to love this place. But sadly I could not. The staff was very lovely and kind. The were polite and tried to make the best out of a bad sitution but they could not. The key problem is they do not have a good mangement. While there the coffee machine broke and customers had to wait over 30 minutes to find out. The staff did not know what to do let a lome how to fix the machine. On top of that the tech to fix it, lives far away. That hurts your business if you mostly sell coffee. read more

This is place is a true gem. I would probably classify myself as a coffee snob with a special affinity for a good coffee shop, and this place checks all my boxes. On a recent 5-day business trip to Frankfort I scouted yelp for the coffee landscape. I decided I would try Kentucky Coffetree first. I stumbled in for breakfast on Monday morning. The shop struck me as a little chaotic: old carpet, mismatched old tables and chairs (I think some chairs are repurposed from Chili's?), a random bar thing past the counter, wild decor, a Dunkin Donuts coffee pot. But the place smelled of fresh muffins and cinammon rolls. The barista was so sweet and welcoming. I felt like I was home. I ended up back for lunch and repeated through Friday. Fantastic coffee (not an easy mark by me) and tasty food. Wednesday morning I walked in for my new "usual" and the barista said, "Well honey, we'd better be acquainted then. My name is Katie." I told her my name and explained that I was just in town for the week, to which she replied, "That's alright honey, you still deserve for me to know your name." Ha! 42/100 : 2018 Yelp Review Challenge This place was too adorable. My parents and I were headed down to Red River Gorge, and decided that we needed coffee. I'm the coffee snob in this trio so of course I did a quick yelp search to find a local place along the route. I am so glad we stopped here. The decor of this coffee shop was too adorable. And the lady working was extremely friendly and patient. I feel bad because I didn't catch her name What was ordered : Butterbier latte, dirty chai, white chocolate mocha, and a cinnamon cinnamon chip muffin (I did not try). We also purchased a togo mug that was hand made by a local artist. The butterbier latte and white chocolate mocha was a little too sweet for me, but both were delicious. I ordered the dirty chai, and it was probably my favorite that ive ever had. Not too sweet, not too overpowered by the espresso. The temperature of all the latte's were perfect in my eyes...my dad complained that it wasn't hot enough. But he's also not a latte drinker at all. He's a pot of Folger's at home kind of guy. I really liked the location of this little place too. Pretty sure it was in the heart of downtown Frankfort, with lots of cute shops nearby. They are currently hiring, so I may have to relocate to Frankfort so I can work there! read more
