The crabs were fresh, as I was literally waiting for them to come in from the fisherman in the morning., and waited outside for them to be cooked. The crabs were sweet and stuffed. We loved them! This is a pick up spot, they do not have dine in. I would call in the order as early as you can when they open. I'm sure they run out at some point.

Saved room to try dessert and got both the carrot cake (more like layers of blondie separated by regular cream cheese) and the blueberry creme brulee, which tasted good but did not have a smooth texture. Bussers were great at clearing the table, and brought boxes since we hadn't seen the server. When check came, we decided to pay with cash to avoid the 3% fee. When reviewing it, we found we had been charged for 2 beers that had not been ordered (which we may not have noticed if we had paid by card). The manager was responsive after we were able to get her attention and quickly corrected the check and took the payment because our server did not return. Both of us ordered the Mrs. Maryland Club, which is made with shrimp salad, a crab cake, bacon, lettuce, and tomato. The sandwich arrived fairly quickly and looked good, but right away we noticed something seemed different from our last visit. The biggest disappointment was the size of the crab cake and amount of shrimp salad. The last time we were here, the crab cake covered the entire sandwich and shrimp salad was falling off the sandwich. It was one of the reasons we remembered it so fondly. This time, the crab cake was noticeably smaller just a little bigger than a golf ball the shrimp salad was just 7 baby shrimp and the chips I got maybe 12-15 chips and half of them were rubbery, overall the sandwich just didn't seem as substantial as we remembered. The little shrimp salad had good flavor, the bacon was cooked nicely, and everything tasted fresh. It just didn't live up to the memory of our previous visit, not worth $21 for sure. Service was friendly, and the food came out quickly. The atmosphere was relaxed, and as always, the waterfront location is a nice place to enjoy a meal. We were seated outside near a tributary and some trash cans that were swarming with flies and smelled much worse than low-tide. There was one other table of people outside near us. At this point, I revealed to my husband that on the East Coast, people straight up crack and eat whole crabs (this offended his Mid-Western sensibilities) and he ordered a crab-cake sandwich. I ordered 6 whole crabs and our waitress taught me how to smash them with a mallot,"remove their lungs", and eat the meat. I was feeling VERY cave-woman at this point. Husband's face? Priceless. The food was nothing special to me, it was a new experience to eat crabs this way but I could not get over the smell of the trash cans and the flies. About half-way through our meal, the most surreal and bizarre thing happened. A little boy and his mother brought out a karaoke machine, set it up about 4 feet from us, and the mother started belting into the microphone. In this case, at the Dockside Restaurant & Sports Bar at 421 Deale Road in Maryland, the food was mostly wonderful, and the prices were more than reasonable for this economy. What prevents Dockside from receiving at least four stars was primarily the service. Two orders of fries, one sweet potato and one regular, weren't hot; and although our waitress reluctantly brought one of the orders back to exchange it for a new batch, the fries didn't taste any warmer. Our other host ordered his crabcake lightly-fried, only for it to be brought out broiled. He still enjoyed it, but it wasn't exactly what he wanted or ordered. By the end of the meal, it became obvious that, if we return, we need to ask for Sarah, who, although she was tending the bar and wasn't even our waitress, still brought one of our neighbors a fresh cup of Pepsi Zero that she could take on our return trip home. Sarah also exhibited a great sense of humor, an attentiveness and an attention to detail, and, most importantly, remembered with pleasure our hosts, who have dined there frequently. Apart from the pumpkin cheesecake, which was so infused with nutmeg and pumpkin spice that even Linus from Peanuts couldn't have tasted the pumpkin, and the lukewarm fries, our meals were terrific.
