I went here for breakfast and ordered an omlette with hashbrowns, gravy, and toast. The omlette was very good and was just the right size for one person. The vegetables in the omlette were very fresh and the cheese was perfectly melted. The hashbrowns were good and I could tell they were homemade. The gravy was okay but did not have as much flavor as I hoped. Overall, the food was good and I would come here again. Hubby and I were on a business trip to Lebanon, so I looked up reviews here on Yelp and found Kevin's. And it was exactly what we were looking for: a small, home-town environment, friendly service, and great food. Everyone seemed to know everyone, and there was a lot of laughter among the staff and the customers. We could watch Reese as he cooked, because the cooking area is just beyond the counter. He was friendly and efficient, and had on a cool shirt that said, "Either you love bacon...or you're wrong". Hilarious! Our server, Corina, was fantastic. So was the other server who seated us, but I didn't catch her name. I ordered eggs, sausage, and hashbrowns: everything was perfect. Hubby ordered the bacon hamburger and he let me have a bite. It was terrific, too. I like that there are booths and not hard chairs to sit on. We'd already been driving for several hours, so softer seats were wonderful. They're only open till 2 pm and I think it's cash only. Be careful if your shoes are wet; the floor is extremely slippery! We'd definitely eat here again; Kevin's isn't huge on space, but it's huge on good food, a friendly atmosphere, and terrific service. read more

This is my Favorite place to eat a good burger and fries.. it's inexpensive $8.75 for a Burger and Fries and they are good portions, I can never eat it all and my husband loves to eat the leftovers it get.. It's run by Kevin and he does all the cooking so be patient with him, you will ultimate love the end result.. I prefer to sit at the counter and watch his master that grill/cook area.. The only downfall but, will never have me not come here is the only takes cash.. They do have an ATM in the area if you forget.. Just be prepared to have cash on you when coming here.. Kevin's Cafe (Formerly Lorene's, Big Jim's, The Easy Breeze, etc) is a classic little breakfast and lunch place in Lebanon. A few tiny booths, some tables, and a counter is all they offer, but the food is above average and the portions are hefty. It does seem like their prices have been steadily creeping up, but such is life in these economic times. My personal favorites are the chicken fried steak for breakfast with the Quickie sandwich as a close second, and any of their enormous burgers for lunch. Had our first breakfast out since COVID. Went to Kevin's, homey old fashioned cafe where you can watch the Cook , cook. I had the linguica and eggs and my husband had the pork chops and eggs. OK+ Food, but this guy is running a cash only business with a cash machine for you to use sitting in front of the cash register. You get charged to use it, and then charged again when your bank funds it. Why not just add 3% to the tab and run the credit card like every other honest retail business out there? ....oh I go it....then you have to pay taxes on ALL your transactions, just not the ones you report. I for one will not support a business that is seemingly setup to avoid taxes and ends up costing me an additional $5 or so bucks in bank charges on my bill without BIG SIGNS saying upfront he is cash only. I could have paid the bill in cash, I had barely enough cash to cover, but nothing for the waitress, so I chose to pay the bank charges so I could leave the waitress a decent tip.... buncha BS read more

Kevin's was great, when you could sit down. Now as far as take out, its terrible. Eggs, were over done, on all the orders. The cook, was not wearing a Masks, nor gloves, or hair covering of any kind. Was touching the food with his hand, as well as his drinking bottle, dishes. The older waitress, was the same, handling the food, as well as the cash register, money and everything else, I was there for a total of 30 minute, she washed her hands not once, or either the cook. the other waitress, had a mask, and gloves. This diner is definitely a gem in Lebanon. It's fairly small with only a handful of tables and the kitchen being in the same room as the dining room essentially. I would say the size of the diner adds to the coziness of everything. I go here with my friends to get some breakfast and I can definitely say this is a place we enjoy. Kevin's cafe is a very family friendly restaurant with a great breakfast and lunch! They have fast service and nice waiters!

I always get the waffle special, my boyfriend always gets the chicken fried steak, and we always leave full, happy, and satisfied. My waffle is always perfectly crunchy around the edges and soft in the middle. Coffee is good and strong. It can get really busy here sometimes, but the service is always excellent. If you sit at the counter, watching the cook go at it is fun. I enjoy the tongue-in-cheek signage hanging around the restaurant. It's a cash-only kind of establishment, so come prepared or prepare to pay the ATM fee at the machine they have hanging out in the corner. Man, I really could use a waffle right now. read more

Service here was awesome. Friendly waitress and we were up at the counter and the cook often checked in with us (maybe he's Kevin?). I had an omelet and was able to substitute an ingredient hassle free. Much appreciated! Only downside is that the place is kind of small and it'll be hard to come with a group expecting to be seated together. The place is always busy which is good for them! They deserve the patronage. Kevin's ain't much. But it is something. What a little dive. There ain't a piece of upholstery in this joint that isn't stained or torn. The few booths they have are small. Like a lot of things in Lebanon it probably hasn't changed since the last depression. It's small and dirty and crowded and perfect. The service is pretty decent. The place is so small the waitress is rarely more than 10 feet from you. And the mugs of coffee are poured freely into cups that look like they came from a second hand store. None of the mugs match (My last one had the "Merit Cigarette" logo and was probably a promo given away in 1992). If this sort of carefree attitude bothers you and you want a fancier place don't come to Kevin's. The food was remarkably good. My first taste was a burger. It was spot on with fresh veggies and well cooked off the grill. The fries need work, though. Run of the mill frozen fries are what's offered. Kinda disappointing considering the the burger was A+++! The breakfast hits the spot. Waffles and hotcakes, eggs, everything is cooked fresh to order. And it's all reasonably priced and cooked fresh. Kevin's is a surprising little gem with good, tasty food. A limited menu that's not at all good for you. Small town service where your coffee cup is never empty. And very affordable prices. Recommended by a local so stopped by before a bike ride. Didn't want to "fill up" so ordered one blueberry pancake, one biscuit and side of gravy. The pancake was perfect with a lot of blueberries and dusted with powdered sugar. Biscuit was fluffy and gravy just the right thickness. Service was excellent. Watch out for the cash only policy. My friends and I were very impressed with the excellent customer service and outstanding quality of food. Two of us ordered burgers which were perfect and just the way we wanted them. The third guy ordered the halibut sandwich, which she said was really really good! Our server was very friendly and stayed on top of our needs. Been to Kevin's many, many times. Even back when it was Big Jim's. I like their food, breakfast is always a winner. The drawback is the place needs a thorough cleaning, some new upholstery or chairs. I'm willing to overlook a lot of things, but not cleanliness in food prep/service. It's a tiny place and when they're full there isn't room to cuss a cat. I agree wholeheartedly with other posters who think the coffee is too weak. I never order it anymore, and I LOVE coffee. One thing you can count on is getting your eggs prepared exactly the way you want them. When I order 'over medium' that's what I get. Bit of runny yolk, no runny white....Perfect! Waitstaff is hit or miss. Sometimes they're right on top of things and other times when we've been in, we've sat for a very long time with no attention whatsoever being paid, menu, no order, so we left. How do you balance the good 'diner food' with other drawbacks? The cash only thing is very annoying, especially now in the world of inexpensive credit card access business have. So there you have it. Love Kevin & that good home cooking food .... but the "Village Idiot" dishwasher / manager in Kevins days off is more than I could bear... he started out refusing to let my service dog, Jada, come in one day by blocking me in the door way ... such a rude Dick, Clearly a violation of ADA compliance & if I didn't like Kevin ... a lot, I would have filed an ADA complaint about the dishwasher / manager on the spot ... then he argued w me about "the Service Dog" component of ADA, after I left a copy of the law in an envelope on the front door w my business card addressed to the owner & said he was refusing me service because he didn't like my "attitude" & actually refused to serve me after taking an order from my friends .... sorry ... last chance for Kevins ... good riddance to the Village Idiot .... sorry Kevin.... read more
