IMHO I grew up in SF and the last time I purchased KFC chicken from the Taraval location was probably 50 plus years ago! There is no dedicated parking lot here, so it's hit or miss to find a parking spot close by. My hubby dropped me off while he searched for a place to wait. I was grabbing a KFC bucket meal for our World Cup watch party and had a KFC coupon to redeem. Paulette, the cashier, told me my coupon had expired on July 3rd. I totally believed her until I saw that my husband wrote in black Sharpie pen "July 31" on the coupon flyer. She looked again and realized her mistake. LOL Fortunately we both had a sense of humor about it. Hey, life is too short to get upset over trivial things. Paulette processed my bucket meal with the coupon deal but told me I'd have to wait 15 minutes for the biscuits. I didn't care about the biscuits and asked if they could be substituted with something else. She said no. Okay, I'd wait for them to bake. Heck, I paid for them! LOL Meanwhile, a steady stream of customers came through. At a certain point, I thought my order was ready when Paulette started grabbing freshly baked biscuits. In reality, she was filling other people's orders, so I finally got up to see if my order would be ready soon. Paulette asked me if I wanted to order anything else, and then asked what flavor I wanted, chocolate or lemon. I looked a little confused but said "chocolate". She told me that she would comp me a free chocolate cake because I had to wait so long. I thanked her profusely for her great customer service. Quality may be subpar because it is a fast food chain restaurant, but I've had no issues with the service here. I mean you're paying for cheap and convenience, so I don't understand why people are complaining. If you want better food then eat at another dine-in local restaurant or cook your own food, in my opinion, of course. Don't want to offend people - we are a sensitive bunch in SF. As always if you can afford to do so, a dollar tip goes a long way for these minimum wage workers. It closed down many years ago. I read all the good and bad review and I say it is all accurate. I have never been rude to anyone serving me food and I never think it's a wise thing to do so . But I do believe that all people serving you should be professional and not rude regardless of how other customers treat them. It's only part of being a professional. That being said I did wiitness employees treating customers very poorly. Because of this I decided to never go to this Branch again and also the food is hit and miss sometimes it's very good and sometimes it's just very very dry and poor quality so most of the time I do go to jollibee's or elsewhere like churches and I don't mind the extra longer drive just to get some good food with decent quality without the attitude from the employees. Take out 6/3/2021. Nowadays, almost every fast food joint has a new spicy chicken sandwich. There was a big $4 spicy sandwich promotion poster outside of this KFC. My first bite into this sandwich put a slight smile on my face. It was a familiar taste of a regular piece of KFC chicken without the grease with a mild level of spice. The bun was soft and buttery. She does speak very directly with a louder tone, so some ppl may misinterpret this as being rude, but nothing is further than the truth. She is just direct & honest without any false sugariness which we actually appreciate. Paulette helped us order & set up pick up of the fried thanksgiving turkey. No fuss no muss. She took our lunch order for both KFC & Taco Bell with speedy efficacy & made sure everything we wanted was correct on the order. When our order came out, she took a quick glance & yelled to the kitchen "can I have a Spicy Chicken Sandwich please". So she also made sure the order wasn't missing anything. After blowing into the city after a short flight from San Diego, I crossed paths with this KFC advertising their Tuesday special of 2-pieces of chicken for $0.99. Never one to turn down a good deal, I dropped in and ordered 4 orders, totaling 8 pieces of chicken. I got 4 of the regular, 2 extra crispy, and 2 grilled pieces of chicken. Since the turnover was so high during the busy day, the chicken was very fresh and piping hot. My favorites were the original and grilled but I found that much of the oil had not drained from the extra crispy, making it a very oily eating experience. Overall though, it's a great price for a decent fast food meal. This binge session probably didn't do my diet much good and is making all of the exercise for naught. Today is Wednesday, I called Monday because a large office was craving a large KFC order for today. Believe it or not, door dash limits your KFC order to under 100$ and their order was $106. In order to please this office, I wanted to go above and beyond and deliver it myself. She assured me she could do it but needed an hour heads up. I called 10 minutes before they opened (11am) Wednesday and she answered. I was blown away. The order was ready within the hour. While I waited inside KFC for them to bag the order, I was extremely impressed with her ability to put her customers in line from behind the counter. Kept everyone 6 ft apart and on their respective black lines. I don't go to fast food restaurants frequently, but I would return to this KFC. I wish I could tip her but the best thing I could do was show how much I appreciated her hard work and work ethic. She cares about her job, she cares about the food,5!3 cleanliness and the customers. KFC does not accept Apple Pay, so I ended up using their card machine. I took out my visa card, which I rarely do and inserted my chip card in their machine. The next day, I was alerted by my VISA card that there was potential fraud happening on my card. A $1 charge was made by LevelUp, which is the platform KFC uses for their online orders. Someone attempted to charge a higher priced item on my card. Someone called my credit card company pretending to be me trying to add another person access to my account.
