Unfortunately I am forced to agree with the 1-star reviews. By far the worst KFC I have ever had! Chicken was cold and possibly undercooked. The breading did not taste right either, leading me to seriously question the other ingredients... I ordered a 3-piece meal, the chicken was aweful. I somehow ended up with two biscuits, one had a dark (possibly mold?) blemish on it, the other was runny in the middle, as if undercooked or ... God knows what. The coleslaw and mashed potatoes were the typical mass produced flavor, as I was hoping the chicken would also be. The service was horrible, no one was friendly and they were incredibly slow. This is the only KFC place in town. I eat at this location once every 3 months on the average. Few times I got disappointed with the food, one order I had the 3pc chicken combo and the chicken was soaking in grease or cooking oil, it wasn't appetizing at all after using lots of napkins to remove the oil. The other order was the 3pc chicken tender and wasn't crispy at all but soggy. The servers are friendly and helpful and they are the only restaurant in town that asks for IDt to verify your identity when paying with ATM card. read more

Line is slow even when they have half a dozen people working in the back. They somehow run out of chicken at 7PM and will not tell you until you've been waiting in line for 30 minutes. Service is slow tedious. They card people if you use a debit card. read more

I ordered my food on door dash and when it got here I was missing 2 of my items. I was missing my mashed potatoes and the biscuits. And then I called to see if I can get the food that they forgot and the guy that picked up was being so rude and had a bad attitude.He was telling me that they can't do that and I quote, "I don't care what tf we missed on your order so just eat what we fucking got you." Don't bother going here!! We finally wanted to try it again after a previous bad experience and shouldn't have bothered. Staff is incredibly rude. We ordered a large, ticket says a large, chicken was large but the side was wrong. Cashier chose to argue and get nasty immediately even when my husband offered to just buy an extra side so we could go even though it had been there mistake. Received rude and rushed customer service, My order was cold plus I never got the rest of my order, they told me my potato wedges would be ready in a few. I was there for at least an hour and no wedges. This KFC stole money from me. And when you mention that the chicken is cold they get attitude and say that's the way it's supposed to taste, every other kfc serves hot chicken this one clearly doesn't I've been here 4 times cause it's the only one in the area Iive at, every single time I come here I receive terrible service and cold chicken. We rarely good here because the food is horrible but my daughter was in the mood and we were hoping for the best. The location is not close to us so we were disappointed when we got home to see that our bag only had the sides and not the chicken. My husband went back to the store with the receipt and the rude manager told my husband that her employees said they put it in the bag so unless we bring the other food back we weren't getting the chicken we paid for. Hmmm, if our big plan was to steal chicken we could have simply took the chicken out of the bag and returned the rest of the food,,,not sure what the point of returning everything was. They don't have the $5 pot pie fill up as the tv commercial and the internet states and when you submit the survey for the free crispy chicken sandwich they don't even sell the sandwiches. I guess the manager doesn't do what he corporate office recommends. I think he/she is cheap. A little bait and switch going on here. My father was on this KFC kick after we got in a debate over Popeyes vs KFC. Being the Popeyes fan that I am, I gave my Dad and KFC a chance to prove me wrong. Horrible mistake and waste of a 20 minute drive. The manager was a bitch, the food was barely warm, chicken batter was soggy, and yes my biscuits were also undercooked. Seems like their equipment either needs to be maintained or replaced. I don't know what it is about KFC, but they always suck. This one was by far the worst fast food I have every ate. No star please! We were standing on the side, not ordering yet since we were still undecided on what meal to buy. The cashier asked us what we want but we said to give us sometime but still she kept on asking. When we ordered, my husband paid by debit card and the cashier asked for his ID. Not even explaining why. We use our debit card everytime and this is the first time we were asked for ID. Is it because we were just wearing shorts and shirt, asian with a different accent? This got to be the worst KFC in he nation. The assistant manager had no clue what customer service is, she properly never heard the term or she's clueless. We wanted to order the 10 piece mixed bucket, however, out of the 10 pieces she wanted to give us 4 wings which we don't eat. we asked to substitute and pay extra, but she was very unreasonable and refused stating that the constitution signed by KFC himself prohibits any change in the order and we have to eat what Colonel Sanders wrote in his will and not up to customer to decide. It seems that the chicken she serves are very near and dear to her and related to her. She feels very sad to let the chicken go since they are part of her family. Quite honestly, we felt very guilty to take her chicken away, more so, to even think about eating chicken anymore. At this moment we had a revelation and we saw the light and decided to become vegetarian inside the store. Thanks to her enlightening message and the lesson she made us learn. Yuck!! Of all the KFC I've ever had this was by far the worst. I'd had one prior disappointing order from the Santa Maria KFC, but it was 2-3 years ago, and I was hopeful I was a fluke. It wasn't. They were due to close within the hour and got the orders completely screwed up. Apparently, they were out of certain parts and just gave a bit of this and that instead, plus one meal was missing a side. The chicken breast and wings were greasy and the meat was tough. I expect KFC to fall off the bone, but this not only didn't fall, it hung on for dear life. My dogs weren't even impressed. Not tasty at all and the biscuits were falling apart. Huge waste of money. I would have taken it back but we don't live near this store, also it was pretty picked over by hungry people looking for little bits they could eat. Horrible meal. Despite bad reviews, we've never had a bad meal from the KFC in Lompoc. If I ever get over how disgusting this food was, and want to try KFC again, I'll drive over there. Zero Stars - The Santa Maria CA store at 2205 S Broadway near Betteravia Road is not worth the stop. Every year I give this place another chance and every year it's a disappointment - this year I wanted to try the Nashville Chicken - apparently it's a sauce that goes on after the chicken is cooked - it's a $2.00 surcharge, must be real good - and the kicker - I wanted crispy chicken so I asked for it on the side so it wouldn't get soggy on the way home - sorry CAN'T DO THAT. I asked - you can't put it in a bowl with a lid - Nope can't put it in a small bowl, can't squeeze the container full of Nashville juice into a separate container - oh well... no KFC today or ever from this SANTA MARIA, CA Location on Broadway off Betteravia Rd. Last year it was that the stoves were down - BUT - I could still get the grilled chicken -- how? I asked and they chuckled... strange - year before that - the cashier sighed (huhhh) when I asked for a moment longer to decide on the order - huhhh.... AND YES - the place is always dirty - go figure... So my annual attempt to commune with the Colonel as usual ended in annoyance - and no chicken - won't give them my money - only a chance - and they failed again.
