We have called him three times this year, once for a Viking oven, once for an Amana refrigerator, and once for a Bosch dishwasher (our kitchen just hit its 12th anniversary and some of the appliances are feeling their age). Do not use these people! I would not even give them 1 star but that's the lowest Yelp would allow. I had them come to fix my oven since it was not pre-heating. The technician came and after 5-10 mins, told me the problem was that the cookie sheets I had in the bottom drawer was blocking the ignition. Even though he didn't do anything but pull my bottom tray out, they still charged me $90+. Fine, my bad if that was the problem. Fast forward a month later, I go to use my oven and got the same issue. I removed everything from the bottom tray but the oven still took forever to heat up. I then contacted the owner at KH Appliance to see if they could come back and waive the visit fee since the technician miss diagnosed the issue the first time and didn't do any repairs. All I got was a warrantee verbiage that all repairs are non refundable. WHAT REPAIRS? They didn't do a thing! When I asked the owner if he felt that was fair, he ignored my message and never responded. What kind of business are you running? You just want to collect money for doing nothing! If you're like me and reading all these 4- to 5-star reviews and wondering if there really is someone this honest and effective at repairing appliance...the answer is yes, there is. My microwave died after a prolonged use, so I searched Yelp and Kh Appliance was at the top of the list. I sent an email on Sunday afternoon explaining the problem, and received a reply that very day. We arranged for a time during the week and Mike was very prompt. It took all of about 8 seconds to diagnose the problem - it was a temperature fuse. Mike offered to order the part and come back to replace it. However, since I'd already taken the microwave out of the wall and tested the other fuse, Mike suggested I simply pick up a fuse at the local part store and replace it, if I felt comfortable. And if for some reason that didn't work, just to give him a call and he'd come back with the right part. I picked up the part, installed it, and everything was fine. But what still amazes me is that somebody would be so forthcoming with my options and not simply suggest the one that benefited him the most. Without a doubt, the next time an appliance goes on the fritz, Mike will be my first call. Honest, professional, and very good at what he does. My washing machine had one of the big springs fall off and I usually repair my own items, but I did not want to rip the machine apart this time. I made the mistake of washing a rug with too much "lint", which my washer could not handle because it clogged the water pump. Mike was quick to respond to my call and set up an appointment for the next day. He arrived at the time we had agreed on, and proceeded to fix my washer which fortunately only required cleaning the lint out of the pump. Our 12 year old Kenmore started rocking like a mechanical bull during its' spin cycle and I thought I'd have a professional look at it before buying a new one. Mike the owner of Kh Appliance took my call on Saturday and I told him that the problem starts with heavier loads such as jeans, sweats and towels. He said it sounds like an easy fix but it would cost $70 for him to come out, take the unit apart and confirm the repair needs. We agreed on an appointment for Monday between 1:00 and 3;00 which Mike showed up for at 1:20. He opened the unit, pointed out the problem offered me a price to make the repairs which included the $70 service call. I couldn't refuse because it wasn't much more than $70 so I had him rebuild the agitator aso that we hadn't even noticed had stopped working because some of the plastic pieces that make it up had disintegrated. I have normally called Sears in the past, but they were quoting me a week out and I needed someone to look at our washer right away. So I took a chance and called up Mike based on the Yelp reviews. He was able to come the next day and was completely transparent on the costs. He managed to get the washer fixed (an article of clothing stuck in the drain pipe) for a fair price ($185). He also found mold and was able to advise my wife on cleaning procedures and products for getting rid of the issue. So a repair and cleaning consultation was money well spent in my opinion. He arrived on time and gave me the diagnoses I needed and made his personal recommendations clear: Given their age, they were probably not worth repairing. This is a review for appliance repair work that Mike did at our home in Danville on 9/17/2014. Mike did an excellent job and I told him I would leave a good review on Yelp, but I put it on my ToDo list and am only now getting to it. Our relatively new and relatively expensive Samsung washing machine was leaking water at the end of each wash cycle. I contacted the company we purchased the washing machine from who directed us to Samsung customer service who directed us to a repair sub-contractor they use who, after speaking with, I had zero confidence in and who could not look at the machine for at least a week after I called them. I found Mike through Yelp. I gave him a call and he said to send him an email and he would respond. I sent him an email and he came out the next day for a diagnostic. He quickly got to work by dismantling the top and the entire front of the machine. He ran the machine through several abbreviated cycles but there were no leaks. The only problem he found that might be causing a leak was what appeared to be a failed solenoid valve. He reassembled the machine and was prepared to write up a tag, but then was thinking out loud and said that a failed valve wouldn't completely explain the behavior of the leak. At this point he had already been there for about 1-1/2 hours. He then re-disassembled the top and front of the machine and did some further testing. All of the hoses and connections were watertight, but the pattern of light rust and water staining on the underside of the machine indicated that there must be water coming from an area where there were only hoses and connections that had tested watertight. So, after continuing to troubleshoot, he found a drain hose that runs from the front of the machine and underneath to the rear and had been cut a tiny amount too long when the machine was manufactured. When the hose was cold it was watertight but when it warmed up when draining hot water at the end of the full wash cycle it would sag a small amount and touch the floor. The sagging caused a pin size hole to be abraded on the underside of the hose and that was the source of the mysterious leak. The hose had an unusual diameter so Mike called an appliance parts company to order a Samsung replacement hose, but it it would have taken at least a week to receive. So Mike gave us the option to repair it using a hose that is available for a similar machine. He left, purchased the hose, returned shortly, and, after he installed the new hose and tested the machine, everything was running well again. All done in one afternoon. Mike was knowledgeable, intelligent, persistent, and professional. I do not hesitate to recommend him. read more

He arrived on time and proceeded to take apart the microwave to source the problem: a broken-off plastic tab on the keypad frame. He said he would call his suppliers to see whether or not the part could be found locally. He called me later that same day with an estimate for the replacement part & installation labor. In another couple of days he notified me that he had received the part and asked when a convenient time would be for us to schedule the repair.
