Mike rescued me from "death by fringe" in my Fisher & Paykel washing machine. My tassel fringe edged curtains erupted fringe fibers all over the inside of my machine. I had a situation where I used both Mike and GE. My GE freezer stopped working and I was desperate to get it serviced ASAP. I usually use GE service but they didn't have anyone available for 2 weeks. So I called Mike, based on the Yelp reviews, to fix my refrigerator as well as a broken hinge on my oven. Mike was very quick to respond and knowledgeable. He said he can fix the oven but not the refrigerator. As a courtesy, I decided to give him the oven job although I had GE coming the following week and also recognizing that I would have to pay a bit more for both services. But I didn't expect it to be so expensive! Mike worked on changing the hinges for approximately 20 minutes but the total bill was $475! He charged me $75 for diagnosing the oven, and $75 for the refrigerator that he didn't fix. The parts only cost $120 but the service was astronomical $350. I've used many services living in this house for 16 years but never felt like I got ripped off like I did with Mike. read more

Mike has helped me twice. The first time was for my convection oven. The second was for my refrigerator, which was not staying cold. He's honest.He offers up things you can do yourself before charging to replace parts. For the fridge, he told me to turn it and off and unplug it for 24 hours, which gave me an 80% chance of fixing it. It worked! The next step would have been to order a fan and a control panel and pay about $300. He could have easily gone right there and I would have had to wait and to pay more. The fridge at my work was having some kind of electrical problem so I emailed with Mike and arranged a time for him to come that worked with my busy schedule. Mike was promptly here at the time we had agreed which was great, I work with a lot of vendors and many are often very late.
