Fillet pho salty lemonade, and awesome rolls

I don't get down to this neck of the woods much anymore, but when I am, it's to visit the fish store and this restaurant I brought my daughter here for more years than I can count and the broth is the best in the area. Absolutely terrific fried rolls and they give you enough Basil. Some places are a little bit stingy with it, but you definitely get enough items to make your soup just what you want. Can't say an great things about the flavors here.

Excellent pho that is served quickly! I stopped in for a quick lunch and was in and out in 25 minutes. I ordered a small steak and brisket pho (5/5) and was given a very filling portion with perfectly cooked noodles and superb broth. It was exactly what I was craving. I also ordered a lychee tea, which was sweet and refreshing. They take your order (quickly, so have a game plan or decide fast) then you pay at the counter. Service was good. As far as ambiance, it's nothing fancy - but I'm not coming here for that, I'm here for the excellent food at decent prices and speedy service. I live far away and wish I could have this more often! San Jose has some of the best Vietnamese food in the Bay Area.

Great hole in the wall spot. Service was excellent, food came out quickly. Always tasty both as a dine-in and take-away option! The chicken vermicelli is my favorite and go-to order

The food and service are great here. Very easy going and comfortable whether you're eating with a group or alone. The pho has a clean broth and the rice and meat dishes are very flavorful. The Banh mi, spring rolls, and egg rolls are highly recommended as well. One thing most people might overlook are the drinks here. The tea drinks are all VERY good, and I'm a boba tea fiend. I make frequent visits to all of the tea spots in the area and this spot competes with the tea shops dedicated to making only tea. The smoothies are so good, especially if you're getting a pho alongside. Honeydew and taro smoothies are the GOATS. They also have freshly squeezed orange juice, and not the store bought garbage. Finally, the prices are definitely worth the quality of food and service you receive here.

Great neighborhood spot! Detailed breakdown below: **Service, 5/5** No frills -- staff are quick to grab your order and bring the food. Pay at the counter before you leave. I was also happy to see that the restaurant was decently busy with a steady stream of customers! **Price & portion, 5/5** Solid portion for a reasonable price. Regular sized bowls of pho are $14 and larges are $15. The regular size left me super satisfied! **Taste, 5/5** Love that the noodles here aren't "al dente" so they're super silky and splurpable. Portions of meat are generous so I got a whole piece of meat in each bite! I got the #10 which comes with steak, flank, and tendon -- I asked for the steak on the side so it wouldn't overcook and get tough in the broth which was perfect. The flank had a great amount of fat, and the tendon was super tender! If I had to nitpick, I'd say the broth here is less complex than other places I've been to; the primary flavor you get is salt instead of umami of that makes sense. And I wouldve loved a bit more onion and green onion in my bowl. But other than that, it was a great dinner and I'm definitely coming back! **Other notes** Parking. Restrooms.

Quality/Quantity - Continuing and going out of my way to support locals while I am in the area. Two chicken sandwiches. Not sure if the bread was toasted? As I unfortunately got distracted by a "neighbor" when I got back to my wife. He talked to us for over an hour... So if the bread was toasted originally, it was really soft by the time I started eating it. No fault of the business. The BBQ flavor was more American than Vietnamese??? Not bad, but I was expecting more of an Asian flavor. Could have used more meat/chicken, but for the price, I was not surprised. Generous fresh veggies in the sandwiches, thank you. Atmosphere - Small local family restaurant. Narrow mall parking, but was not an issue today. Open 5 days a week from 10am to 8pm, closed Thursday and Sunday. Service - Welcomed me right away when I walked in. Overall, the service was good. Counter service as I was buying sandwiches to-go. Let me sit anywhere while I wait. Price - $6.50 a sandwich + tax; totaling $15. Reasonably priced for what we got. Owner Comment - Congrats on your 20+ years of success...?

    Chicken Pho

Always quick to seat me, attentive to my order, decently priced & GREAT service! Clean space, cute fish tank inside, Apple Pay accepted! I got the chicken pho & the broth is phenomenal. Full of flavor. I like that it comes with mixed meat, personally I hate when it comes with dry chicken breast. The meal also comes with Vietnamese mint inside the soup which I feel is a great touch. Don't be fooled its not like chewing on a stick of gum. It's very subtle & adds great flavor! It's a bit over $16 for a small & I always leave full & fulfilled! Highly recommend!

Super clean broth, speedy service, and simply satisfying. I tried their vegetarian pho today and it was so savory and rich in deep flavors but not heavy or greasy. Really clean broth that warmed my bones and soul.

Cozy location in Saratoga with welcoming staff. Came here for lunch on a Monday afternoon, got seated right away. Food came really fast along with our drinks! I ordered the #15 combo pho, def hit the spot! I just wish there was more meat but overall delicious! Also got a refreshing coconut juice!

The pho broth here is super flavorful and hit the spot on a cold night. However, it was full of MSG as I was super thirsty afterwards. My husband and I both ordered a small bowl of pho and it was still a huge portion. Only thing was there was not a lot of meat compared to other pho restaurants I've been to. We also ordered a grilled pork banh mi. It was good, but there was no pate. I was a bit disappointed. However, the bread was soft. Maybe a little too soft, it was not crisp on the outside. Parking: shared parking lot with plenty of spaces

Pretty good casual spot for pho! We came here on a whim on a Saturday morning with some friends after wanting to get something different from our regular pho restaurant. I got the chicken pho while most of my friends got a variation of beef pho. Between the 2, I liked the chicken pho better as the broth was lighter and brighter than the beef broth. The side of bean sprouts, basil and jalapeños were good but I wish they had limes rather than lemons which really make a difference to the flavor. I also liked that for the phos, you can choose small or large. The price difference is fairly small but the choice in size is nice if you're not feeling very hungry as leftover pho can get mushy easily and it's not a great food to take home leftovers of.

I highly recommend order online in advance as the wait can be about 30-40 minutes. Upon arriving, the inside was packed with people waiting for their orders. I ordered the 6 eggrolls and asked for 3 regular eggrolls and 3 netted eggrolls so that I could try both. The eggrolls come with veggies (lettuce, mint, and cilantro). It also came with pickled veggies and fish sauce. I also ordered 4 of their nem nuong as not every Vietnamese spot offers this type of spring roll. These have grilled pork in them rather than pork and shrimp. It comes with its own sauce which I'm not sure what its made of. The nem nuong were delicious with the grilled pork and there is a crispy component inside, too. They taste fresh and the sauce is tangy. I like the addition of the small chili sauce they give you on the side. The real show stoppers have to be the eggrolls though. They are perfectly crispy and filled with delicious pork filling. The veggies they provide are really fresh and the pickled veggies helps to add more depth. The eggrolls themselves don't feel too heavy or oily either which I really appreciated. The gentleman behind the counter was friendly when I was picking up. Overall, I would definitely recommend this spot and can imagine how their party trays must be a big hit!

The pork and shrimp net egg rolls were perfectly crispy and packed with flavor, and the bánh khọt egg rolls were just as amazing. Yes, the fish sauce smell lingers on your hands, but it's completely worth it because the flavors are incredible. There's plenty of parking since it's located in a strip mall, which made it easy and convenient to visit. If you love crispy-style egg rolls, I highly recommend this spot. It was a really hot day on a Wednesday when we came by. Inside felt stuffier than outside so we opted to sit outside. I was a bit skeptical of getting a hot noodle soup on a hot day, but I figured it'd be great to find a solid bun rieu spot closer to me than my current defaults all the way in Milpitas. The #1 came out first and rather quickly, the #10 took a bit longer but wasn't a long wait by any means. The first thing I noticed was that the plate of add-ins was rather unique, I've never received perilla leaves or banana flowers with my bun rieu before. The broth had great flavor and this soup did come with pork blood cubes. I would definitely come back for the bun rieu. Hot soup noodle soup on a hot day wasn't actually so bad. I tried some of the Special Rice Rolls and felt unsure, maybe it's an acquired taste but I wasn't an immediate fan.

Ice cold water was refilled (at the end of our meal). I only knocked a point due to the refill of water being at the end. Not a huge deal. FOOD: 2/5 stars. Food was well presented and looked great, however it was not hot, but it wasn't cold. It seemed like it had been sitting out for a while as the Bun Ba Hue we ordered was mildly hot...it also lacked depth and spice. We ordered medium spice level as we thought that would be a great balance and not too overly spicy...it was not spicy at all. The soup temperature was mildly hot. Like just above warm really. We also had their vermicelli plate. The plate was cold. The pork was dry and a bit chewy. Almost like it was precooked and microwaved later on. I was not pleased. The fish sauce that came with the plate was sweet. That wasn't something I expected. It did help the moisten the pork. The egg rolls we ordered were not hot at all. The inside were soft and mushy. The crust was crunchy but the inside of the egg rolls were not to my liking. Really expected more due to the name being Hue. My Fiance who's Vietnamese was more critical as she's even more particular than me about her cultural food. Environment: 5/5 stars. Clean and spacious.
