Yes, the food may be good. I don't know... I ordered it mild but it was spicy so I couldn't eat it. There were only two staff there, including the owner. We ordered ice tea, which never came. The owner, who also does the cash register, laughed it off and didn't charge us! It took us over an hour to get out of there. We asked for the check but that was impossible. A huge party was emptying, paying separate checks. I was tempted to just leave $40 on the table and call it good, but I couldn't. The most remarkable part of the entire thing was when the owner thought I made a mistake when I didn't leave a tip. Sorry, honey, this is no mistake. The good was decent, but the service is horrible. I came in at 12:40 to get a to go order, was barely greeted by the lady who asked when I walked in "for here or to go" when I said to go she said "go to the back" where I had to make my order with the unfriendly lady who also didn't greet me. The restaurant was pretty busy and I wasn't told where to wait or how long the wait would be for my food, so if course I had to ask how long it would be. I was told 10 minutes, it took about 25. So I went to a table where there was a waitress and asked her where I am suppose to wait for my to go order (because there is no room to wait by the place you order without being in the way) and she said "oh you can sit at this table right here" so I did for about 3 minutes until I was told I needed to move to make room for a larger party to sit. So I was directed to this tiny chair in the corner by there back ordering area. Which was about 2 inches from a table of people, so close I could hear everything they were saying and it was obvious they felt almost as uncomfortable as I did. Update: Literally the worst Pad Thai I have ever had. It was very bland, the only flavor I could really even taste was fish sauce. It was so horrible, that after the first few bites I threw it away. I had heard great things about this place and was ready for a treat! I had Pad Ke Mao ($8 for lunch) and it was served with a small, but tasty salad. I asked if I could have mushrooms added to the entrée and was told that they could do that. When it arrived I thought that it looked very bland (mostly brown colored). There was very little chicken and it was very thinly sliced, almost to the point of being ground chicken. I counted one mushroom, three thin slices of bell pepper, four carrot slices, some onions, basil, and noodles. What disappointed me most were the large ribs of cold lettuce propping up the entrée! What is the purpose? To make the meal look bigger? To cool off the hot meal? I thought it was very odd and said so to the waitress. I picked out the lettuce and ate the rest of the meal, which was pretty well cooled off. Don't know if I will be back. I thought the service was fine. I found the presentation of the entrée to be deceptive with the big chunks of lettuce. read more

Fantastic meal and great service. We started with the Tom Yum soup with Chicken and it was excellent. But the Salmon Penang Curry was absolutely incredible. The fish was Wild Alaskan Salmon (not farm raised) and it was cooked to perfection. I look forward to returning to have this again. My wife had the Pad Kee Mao and said it was great. We went in wanting to place an order to go, server saw we were there when she sat the three people before us even tho she never acknowledged us. We waited, finally called in to place my order and when I told the gentlemen I was in the lobby was told to go back to the cashier, which we did. There we were told to take a seat and she would be right back to take our order. After awhile she did come back, but only to say she wasn't ready to take our order yet? I've lived in Hillsboro for a couple years and had been wanting to try Thai House... the reviews seemed good overall and it's close to my house. We ordered takeout on Saturday and will probably not ever eat here again. The papaya salad was decent, but both the pad thai and the Thai fried rice were subpar. The dishes were not presented well in their boxes, the pad thai was sweet and bland and the bits of chicken just disappeared into the noodles, and the fried rice was just bland. No complexity of flavors. I would gladly patronize this place regularly if the food had impressed me, but it was very disappointing. It tasted as if the chef was out sick and someone completely unexperienced cooked the food. I make much better pad thai and fried rice at home! Sorry Thai House, I wanted to like you. Even though they specialize in Vietnamese food, the pad thai and fried rice at Pho N.D. are much better. read more

They have great food at a good price, the food is consistent and they are about the friendliest people I have met since we moved here 5 years ago. Little sister took me out for dinner last night and we felt like Thai food and came here. We were seated immediately and given a choice of window or not. We were served water right away and were given time to actually peruse the menu at our leisure. Since I had never been there it was very nice not to have someone stand over me while I decided what to try. As usual, whenever we try a new restaurant, we order a variety of things just to get a good range. The appetizer came out hot and ready; but they forgot one of the things we ordered, (hence the four stars). The Thai ice tea was wonderful; full of flavor. The other things we ordered were curry duck, crispy chicken with basil, and crab fried rice. All of it was good. The pineapple curry they use on the duck was mild, which was good for me, but my sister thought it was a little too hot for her. You can adjust the heat, you just have to tell them when ordering. We had leftovers for lunch the next day, and the prices were very reasonable. However, they did charge us for the dish that never arrived; but took it off once little sis pointed it out. I'm giving a 2 because we actually do like their food--it's not amazing, but it's good. It's the service that deserves a low rating. We ordered take-out and when the time it was supposed to have been delivered had come and gone, I picked up my phone to call and saw that I had a missed call. They called 35 minutes after I ordered. No message was left. So, I called to find out if they had a question about what we'd ordered and was told that they aren't delivering today. They didn't apologize and they didn't sound like they cared at all. Just tough luck for our family. I won't be giving them my business ever again. I'd think the least they could have done was leave a message--we waited an hour only to find out we needed to figure out something else for dinner. In November, I had pad see ew at a Thai place downtown. It was terible. Truly, terrible. I love pad see ew, so while a bad experience would make a lot of people avoid Thai for as long as necessary, I've been on a Thai bender since then. Excited to try Thai house, I became nervous when we were the only ones in the restaurant at 7 pm on a Tuesday. However, there was no reason to worry. Service was perfect- seriously. Food was fast and well executed- the pad see ew was delicious. And gone within a few minutes. We also had the salad rolls, which were nice and fresh. Really excited to have a new venue for good Thai! The reviews on Yelp are misleading--this place is a perfectly OK/average/typical Thai food joint--but not mind blowing. If you're stuck out in Hillsboro it's fine for a work lunch with co-workers, it's neutral enough to be good for groups that aren't adventuresome. Food is great. If you're there during lunch rush the service is good. They're fast and attentive. If you're there between lunch and dinner, they'll direct you to sit in the alcove to the right of the door as you enter and then forget about you- IF you do get served, you have to go to them to get the check because they don't come back to see how you're doing. read more

Today I visited the Thai House for lunch around 1pm with my sister in law. Not the best experience. It first started when we talked in we were standing for about 5 minutes with out being acknowledged. After we sat down it look another 5-10 minutes before even getting water or acknowledged again. We finally ordered our food and appetizers and I received the wrong appetizer. When I told the waiter about the issue she tried to argue with me and told me that I received what I had ordered. I finally asked her if she can please that those back and if I could get what I had ordered. She was not very happy. After she finally brought me the correct appetizer I said thank you and she didn't say anything back and walked again. Overall experience was not the best. It made me feel very disappointed because I had not ever experienced that there before. read more
