Food tasted good since it was homemade (nothing tasted instant/packaged). The complimentary side dishes were on point (better tasting than most of the Korean restaurants I've been to). I'll let the pictures and video do the talking. Service was friendly. The ambiance was very Korean style/hole in the wall. This place is one of the better Korean restaurants around town. If you like Always Spring Korean restaurant above G-mart you should try this place.

An authentic Korean restaurant with great food. You can tell that the food is homemade (and made with lots of care). The food reminded me of what my mom and grandma would make -- it made me very nostalgic and happy to get to taste these dishes far away from home. We got the: fish roe stew (9/10) mandu (steamed) (10/10) Gamjatang (10/10) The gamjatang especially is made with perilla, and this type of dish is not easy to find anywhere, especially not in the States. I was shook to see it here and was shook again by the taste.

I'm old and I've been to so many Korean restaurants in Oregon, and I can say that this place is the worst Korean restaurant I've ever been to. Inside is okay. Not like it's super clean but not dirty rather. You'll see very agressive notes on the wall. You can already tell the owner doesn't know how to deliver the message in a nice way. Customer service is just okay. But the food...I can't speak enough how terrible it was! My soup was so salty even with the rice, I stopped eating it after three sips. Cold noodle soup is probably packaged in you can get from the store. Side dishes were good. But talking about their poor quality food and over pricing, I could've this place a zero star. NOTE: Don't trust every TikTokers who introduces restaurants. They are probably given more food on the plate than you'll see yourself, chefs probably do better job than usual just cuz they'll be exposed on internet.

One of the best Korean restaurants I have been to! We ordered the Galbi Tang and Dolsot Bibimbap, we finished it in record breaking time! The soup was so flavorful, tasted like it was simmered for hours. All the banchan served were all very good as well. Will definitely come back!

I have no idea why people like this place. I ordered the spicy "seafood soup" with fish roe. It was utterly tasteless. It was a watery broth with chili added, but no seafood flavor. The pollack fish roe tasted like it came from the sawmill, not the sea--just compact balls of hard grainy nothingness. The broth is supposed to make the roe flavorful, but it was just watery. My husband ordered the kimchee soup, and it was passable. The best thing was the banchan. Avoid.

This place is pretty good! I loved all the sides they give with your order. I'll say the beef was good. It's a nice option for something fresh and flavorful. It came with this super savory thick paste that was honestly my favorite part. The reason I'm giving 3 stars is because the kimchi pancake was sopping with oil . Like obviously it's an oily dish in itself and I know what I was getting myself into but this time the oil was the main focus so I couldn't even taste the kimchi. Would definitely go back to try something new!

Family, this place is amazing. I have passed it for years before we decided to stop here for lunch. I wish we would have come here before now. The food is delicious. It had the perfect amount of flavor. We came during the lunch rush but our server hustled to get the orders in. I will definitely be back here.

Today was my first time trying this establishment with my sibling. And it was one of the most wholesome and warmest experiences we've ever had. The hostess was incredibly welcoming and offered us some tea while we waited for out takeout order. She explained to us that these meals are prepared by her mom, which made the name of the establishment make complete sense. While we waited, the overall space was cozy, and somehow, homey. Once our food was ready to go, the hostess did not hesitate to explain what we had ordered and how to eat certain dishes. She was very sweet and attentive. The food itself, was delicious and tasted like a home cooked meal. We got the following: Bassak Bulgogi - this was very well seasoned, but not overwhelming, and the meat was juicy. Bulgogi Dolsot Bibimbap - also very well seasoned, but what really made this dish sing were the sides that you could pile on to the lettuce wrap - which you build yourself, so you can really customize each bite. Seafood Pajeon - this had a nice mix of green onion and squid to batter ratio, and was just flat out delicious. They also gave us soy sauce that was infused with habanero chiles, which made this a unique version of seafood pajeon. Fried Mandu - just really good fried food. And like the pajeon. The habanero soy sauce truly enhances the flavor. All in all. As a Mexican that is very accustomed to well seasoned, prepared home meals, and just flat out delicious and hearty meals. This was an amazing first time and I can't wait to bring my own mom to Umma

They are short staffed and it is posted all over the wall and you can see it is just one lady soloing going in/out kitchen to deliver food and taking orders on floor + phone. The food is authentic and not bad for this part of town. It is not located in the most ideal place for dining only, very crammed parking lot as most spaces are taken up by people visit the bars across the parking lot. Not a lot of lights, pretty dark at night and parking lot spaces are taken by again visitors from the bars so you might have a drunkard sitting on your trunk or tossing their purse at your car and smoking right outside your vehicle too. This was really off putting and killed the vibe of wanting to get a homey me. It felt less inviting when you're hungry and walk into a place that is pitch dark and yeah .... Kimchi pork tofu stew aka kimchi jjigae is 10/10 recommend when you're just craving for a pot of hot spicy soup to cure a cold or just feeling like soup day. spicy squid & pork belly stirfy was very flavorful, so good with rice!! though it didn't take like pork belly or it was just a bit over cooked (dry) or too lean for our preference. Would recommend 8/10 Fish roe stew was very different, this is not offered at most korean restaurants and it was recommended too. It has a lot of veggie and broth is more like clear broth base- very fresh. Kimchi stew was a bit more thick consistency. Fish roe if you're a fan for it come try it, it was our first time and I cannot say I would order it again. The fish roe were cooked a bit too much and too dry again for our preference. I had no idea what to expect but as we continue to eat the soup, we just noticed the fish roe was a bit too chewy. Overall pricing is reasonable and highly recommend kimchi jjigae!! Safety Note: I would recommend coming here during the DAY and park closer to the restaurant and if none available then park elsewhere- far away from bar area unless you don't mind your dash cam catching someone with a flash light looking into your car! Yep it was caught on camera, the passenger in the car next to us parked, then walked out, then walked back with a flashlight and was peeping in our car then their drunken friends stood their entire time and then tossed their belongings onto our trunk. By this point I was already back seating inside and just waiting for them to move a bit so we can leave. This was a huge deterrent for me on returning unless I was dying for kimchi jjigae. My go to spot is JCD Pocha unless you're out in Hillsboro area.

Seafood Pageon. So tasty and really great portion.

I should have known better than to come to this new local North Plains food pod location…read more(post-fireworks) on a Friday, July 5th afternoon lol. Because out of the four usual pods that are here, only SlackTide was open!!! Yippee!!! I finally get to try them too!!! Yippee Skippy!!! Here's my order: ~ Again, this was my first time trying this pod, so I went BIG. I ordered their best item, the $28 Captian's Platter. This consisted of two pieces of fish, in which lingcod was the "featured fish." Three pieces of fresh scallops. And three pieces of fresh shrimp. First of all, I was warned by the owner Brian that lingcod is a thinner fish. But being an avid angler, I was familiar with how big or long lingcod can get. I will admit the fish pieces were somewhat small, but I was warned. I had to get that deep-fried, forearm sized "British fish-n-chips in a newspaper" thought out of my head. The breading, however, was crispy good! The breading stayed on the fish as well. Another plus in my book! As for the scallops and shrimp, oh boy these were just as tasty, dipped in the cocktail sauce or tartar. Squeeze a lil' lemon, add a lil' salt, and mmm mmm!!! The good thing was, after eating that platter, I didn't have that greasy guilty feeling. Oh wait, there's more... ~ Who wants CHOWDAH?!?!?! MAAAAN, I've been up and down the Pacific coast and damn, SlackTide sells some good competition worthy chowder! Why? Because with each spoonful scoop, it had clam with every bite. The base was just right, not too thin, not too thick. It just tasted amazing to me, and thank goodness it wasn't overwhelmed by big potato filler pieces. I only sampled the 10oz cup for $8, but now I know next time to try it in a bread bowl. Welp, that's just about it regarding SlackTide. Call me a fan! Some may think its a bit pricey, but the seafood was cooked fresh on the spot, and EVERY bite was just pure blliss! I had a great talk with the owner Brian about how he manages to do this part-time on the weekends. Man, much props! Fish only stays fresh for so long, so understandable with the short hours. But I'm all about supporting locals. FIVE Star-fish for these guys!!!

We have tried many Cuban restaurants in PDX and have been disappointed. This was our first time coming to Hillsboro Station. There were many options but really this looked like it would be the best. I was trying not to get my hopes up. I told the guy/chef this and he said after you try the food come back and tell me if it was the best. I did come back, and he was right! We got the sampler with meat. There is also a non meat option. My wife tried the pork first. I was waiting to hear her thoughts. She know good pork. She said it was delicious! On the way home I asked what it tasted like (I don't eat pork/beef). I asked if it was salty and garlicy, she said yes, and crispy. Now that sounds like how pork should be. Everything in the sampler was really good, lots of flavor. There was a green sauce on the chicken and steak... it might have been mojo. It was so good, LOTS OF GARLIC FLAVOR. It was just what I wanted. He mentioned the was a chef in cuba, for 25 yr's, and that the bean recipe was his grandmothers. Nice right? The beans did have a lot of flavor, sweetness too, I would like more salt in there. The white rice was also really good, this says a lot. There was chicken, steak, the roasted port, plantano frito, tostone, yuca con mojo, with some of that green sauce and red pickled onions. On the drive home, I wished we bought more just to take home with us. The guy is very friendly, and you can see he puts love into his food. He's got lots of energy. If you want to do your tastebuds a favor... and you feel like a short road trip to Hillsboro, come visit Azucar for some great Cuban food! We are coming back. For the Ahi Poke Tuna - Glad I asked for the sauces on the side. Even with three sauce options, none really worked with the dish. One dark sauce tasted almost like molasses, overly sweet and not something you expect with poke. The chili sauce was also too sweet, while the soy-based sauce tasted excessively salty (fish sauce maybe added in it). I added malt vinegar myself just to balance the flavor. Also, it would be nice if the fish was seasoned with salt(or something) to alter the fishy flavor. The Fish & Chips was average at best. The batter was uneven, with some parts way too thick, though the fries were okay. Experience was not horrible, server was nice and ambiance inside is pretty.
