While I can't eat a lot of fried things anymore, Khoo offers a variety of traditional American Chinese food as well as Malaysian food. My go to is typically chicken lo mein. But I also really like their cucumber avocado rolls. The food is always fresh and hot. The owner Yen is such a nice guy. Whenever we go in he always greets us and will ask how everything is going. There is plenty of seating and they can accommodate larger groups. If you are looking for a good lunch or dinner option, check out Khoo!

Went for music bingo and ordered the sesame chicken. Bingo was fun and well-done, and our server was nice and fast. The sesame chicken wasn't made with very high-quality chicken, so I wouldn't order it again. The rice was fine, if a bit dry. I appreciated that it came with an egg roll, and that was tasty.

Right off the bat, I will tell you that I am somewhat of an American Chinese food addict ... and expert. In my home of Los Angeles, there are simply no good 'junk food styie' Chinese restaurants anywhere. Not like the ones on the East Coast anyways. Obviously, the style of food they serve here would be unidentifiable in actual China. However, in my opinion, there is no better or tastier food on the planet than good old fashioned American-style Chinese junk food. It seems hard to fuck up chicken fingers and fried rice ... but somehow restaurants do. Let me start by saying that this is the best Chinese food I've had in Rhode Island. That's not saying much as every place I've tried to date here ... Cathay Garden, Two Sisters, etc. has not been worth going back to. Massachusetts completely blows away almost any other place I've eaten Chinese food (other than NYC). Khoo doesn't even come close to Yong Shing, Kow Loon, etc. in Massachusetts. But it's edible ... and decent. I was a bit bummed out that they don't really have big combo platters here. You have the option for a big pu pu platter for $26 ... or $13 appetizer and fried rice plates. You can pay extra to add different things, which is good. I ordered the option with fried rice, 3 chicken fingers and 3 Crab Rangoon for $14. I added an egg roll for $2.50. Chicken fingers ... Good, not great. The chicken inside was a little overcooked and rubbery. The batter was crispy but not as light as I'd have liked. The places that use rice flower for a tempura-style batter are much better. The size of the chicken fingers was good but I could have used 1 or 2 more. Crab Rangoon ... This is make or break for a Chinese restaurant. If they don't have good crab Rangoon, I am not coming back. (Looking at you Two Sisters and Cathay Garden) These were rounded balls vs. the triangles with the filling in the center. I've only seen this style a few times and it is more like a fried dumpling. Having said that, they were decent. Not great but good. There was a good amount of cheese. It didn't have that sweet, creamy cheese taste with a little sharpness from the garlic. I tasted no pieces of actual crab ... it was pretty much cheese with a crab seasoning. I'd put these on par with grocery store Market Basket 's crab rangoons. Nothing special ... but not terrible. I still ate them all. Fried Rice ... Pork fried rice here was better than most. Not that many pieces of pork and no fried egg. However it had enough spy sauce to be flavourful. The rice was dark brown ... and not the oily, light brown garbage most places make in large batches and dish out. This tastes fresher. The best fried rice I've had in Rhode Island. Egg Roll ... Nothing special. Small. Mass produced. No meat in it ... cabbage filling was bland. I would not order this again herez though egg rolls are my favourite. I found it very tacky that they charge $.35 for house made hot mustard and $2 for house made duck sauce. Otherwise they give you the sealed packets of corporate condiments which suck incredibly. Good sauces make Chinese food ... it is not great to need to pay extra for them. Overall, this will be my go-to spot for takeout Chinese in RI, unless I find better. It's by no means amazing and in Massachusetts would get 3 stars. However, it's nice to find Chinese food that is actually decent in RI.

Modern, stylish Chinese/Malaysian joint with an interesting menu, with many wings options, many combo plate options, and for two dollars extra, you can upgrade to a dinner combo, which includes a larger serving of the entrée, plus an egg roll. Egg Rolls: Not that lengthy, but decent girth, nice golden shell with crispness, and a cornucopia of goodies inside. Great color, nice crunch and moisture, and strong flavors from the celery-heavy greenery, the pork, the pork glaze, and seasonings. This one checks all the boxes and with an indelible marker. Elite. Boneless Spareribs (on an appetizer combo): Slices and chunks of pork, with some crispness here and there, in a sweet sauce (wet, as opposed to a glaze). Not dry underneath, but all of the moistness came from the sauce. Flavor and feel took me back to Tony Roma's, circa 1988. Average. Beef Teriyaki (on the combo): Tough act to follow, coming on the heels of elite ones at Dragon Garden a bit to the north, but these had good tenderness despite being thin. More soy than sweet in the marinade and glaze. Above average. Khoo Wings (on the combo): Not wanting to commit to a full order of one of their specialty wings (several flavors from different cuisines), merely a trial here (3 pieces). Dark, sweet, and a bit salty/funky. Firm-not-crisp skins with moist inner meat. Average. Shrimp and Lobster Sauce: Lighter than standard sauce, with ripples of egg affecting color and texture. Strong flavor to the meat, whose primary component was salt. It kept reminding me of something, and then it hit me: supermarket vacuum-sealed, smoked peppered salmon off the rack (very near the deli counter if you shop Market Basket). It kept hitting me: salty, salmony, and exactly like that product. Not horrible, but certainly not what I wanted. The shrimp were firm and enjoyable enough, but even without the sauce had that same salty salmon flavor. A little below average (but might be great for the right person). Egg Foo Yong (on a dinner combo): Served with sauce on the side, and by virtue of going with the dinner combo, two patties/omelettes instead of one. Crisp exterior, tender interior, decent porkage, but nothing notable. Mild Sauce. A little above average. Pork Fried Rice (on the dinner combo): Bland and with the puffy feel of couscous. Minimal pork, minimal flavor. (Note that this wasn't their Malaysian fried rice, which I'd assess with a different perspective.) Below average. Egg Roll (on the dinner combo): Hey, why not another half each? A nice reprise. Here we have another one of those Chinese meals with some highs and some lows, but good atmosphere, very good value, and enough highs to make it enjoyable. I don't see Khoo joining my regular rotation, but a top 5 egg roll and a deep menu of wings, noodles, and Malaysian fare is worth a second look and periodic returns.

This is a comfortable Asian restaurant with booth seating and a few tables in the bar area. They do a lot of take out here and when we entered the host asked 'how can we help you' instead of 'good evening', or even 'welcome' followed by 'dining in or take out?'. The menu has all the expected foods like sweet & sour, fried rice, crab rangoon, scallion pancakes and so on. They also have poke bowls, noodle bowls, sishi and sashimi. So choices. Their Khoo roll comes with a side of wasibi, pickled ginger and soy sauce is on the table. The waitress brought chop sticks for my roll. The table is set with a fork, knife and water goblet. This is a very casual restaurant. Be sure to ask for exactly what you want. A glass for your bottled beer, more water, whatever. Service was good and our waitress very nice. We paid by credit card and a 'customer copy' of the receipt was not included. So another thing to ask. Good amount of parking in their private lot. Restrooms at the back. Full bar.

Back again- and the flavors did not disappoint. We came to taste the must tries - indicated on the menu. The Loh Bak was crispy with a juicy - meatball like- shrimp and pork ball in the middle. A def must try. The Chicken satay was juicy and spiced just right The noodle CKT had a different umami flavor that was addicting. It was similar to a lo men however the meat and noodles ate a little dry. The black pepper steak had a nice crisp but the meat was a bit tough. But overall the food was good. The service was good too - they were friendly and attentive. And the ambiance gives off a local spot feeling. If you haven't tried this place yet it is a good option with many items. Everything from Poke bowls to sushi to Chinese staples to Malaysian - u can't go wrong. The daily specials are also worth the visit - so come and try especially Mon- Wed 5.99 appetizers. I will def be back.

Food was delicious. Beware the "Tips Suggestions" calculations at the bottom of the bill. Example 18% calculation is actually 22.5%. Just plain wrong...

Khoo is always a solid choice for great Chinese food. Their General Tso chicken is easily the best around. It's crispy, flavorful, and a good chicken to breading ratio. We tried the salt and pepper edamame this time and it was surprisingly addicting. The drinks were strong, tasty, and well-made. Always a favorite when we're craving Chinese.

Five Stars! An Absolute Gem in West Warwick! Khoo on Cowesett is hands-down one of the best spots I've had the pleasure of dining at in West Warwick! The beef teriyaki was absolutely delicious--perfectly cooked and unbelievably tender, with a savory sauce that struck the perfect balance of flavor without being overpowering. The crab Rangoon was a standout too--crispy in all the right places with a rich, buttery filling that nailed the crab and cream cheese combo like no other. And let's talk about the spareribs--so juicy and flavorful, and you can really tell they use high-quality meat. No chewy, fatty ribs here--just pure goodness. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. I'll definitely be coming back and recommending Khoo to anyone looking for top-notch Asian cuisine in the area! The Service was quick and pleasant and the atmosphere was friendly with a hometown feel we sat next to a large aquarium that filled my young ones with joy !

I was in the area and stopped into Khoo Restaurant for the first time! I was alone and just ordered a dinner combination platter, General Tso' Chicken, which was very good. The service was fast and friendly and the ambiance was nice and clean! I would recommend this to anyone. Rated 4 stars, because it was a very basic dinner dish. Had I ordered the sushi or other items, I'd likely give to 5 stars.

Outstanding dinner! Hubby and I went to Khoo for our anniversary dinner last night. It's been awhile since we ate there and it was as good as we remembered it. We ordered a scorpion bowl for two - that's the best way to get the party started! Hubby wanted the teriyaki beef skewers to start (I wanted the chicken skewers with peanut dipping sauce - we'll try that next time). They were flavorful! I wasn't in the mood for noodles so I ordered the poke bowl with rice and salad as the base, topped with tuna and salmon, avocado and broccoli, with the wasabi mayo. Light and delicious! Hubby wanted to try something new so he got the Young Chow Fried Rice with chicken, shrimp, Chinese sausage, eggs, lettuce, peas and carrots with a ton of chili oil. YUM! We went in on a Monday night and sat at the bar. There was a poker game going on in one of the side rooms and we were happy to find out that there were $5.00 app specials because it was Monday. The bartender was very attentive and had suggested the berry scorpion bowl so we gave it a try and loved it! The steamed dumplings were fantastic with the dipping sauce and the crab rangoon was also good. I thought the rangoon was a little too crispy on the ends, but the crab part was great. I would definitely order the Penang Har Mee soup again. I asked for chili oil on the side so I could make it more spicy and we had the chicken, pork, and shrimp as the protein. I've also had the Poke Bowls for lunch and they are a very fresh and healthy option. They come with two proteins (I get salmon and tuna), rice, a sauce, and two toppings. read more

Mike and I wanted to try this place because I have read on Facebook about how generous they have been to people in the community throughout the pandemic. We like to support local businesses especially those businesses who support the community. We had been here quite a while ago to try their poke bowl. It was absolutely delicious and we were anxious to try something new. We had no trouble parking and were seated right away. There was plexiglass between the booths and the servers were wearing masks. Although we went into the restaurant which was a new experience for us, we are still not comfortable around people who are unmasked and we remain masked ourselves despite being vaccinated. We tried an appetizer which was amazing. It was so light and flaky and delicious and it was called roti Canai. Would definitely recommend that if you haven't tried it. Then Mike had sesame chicken in a combination plate and I had a curry chicken in a combination plate. Both were excellent and tasted fresh and delicious. Mike and I were very happy to go back there and get food that we really enjoyed again. And the restaurant that we enjoyed the first time was as good if not better the second time. After reading a ton of Yelp reviews, I convinced my husband and our friend to try it for dinner. We tried the suggested dishes: crab rangoon, roti canai, salt & pepper wings, Malaysian fried rice, as well as chicken satay and beef teriyaki. All were very delicious. The curry sauce that came with the roti canai was very mild so anyone who doesn't like spicy foods would be able to enjoy it. Moving on to sushi, I preemptively knew I couldn't try everything so I kept it light. Or tried to. Spicy salmon roll and crunchy tuna roll. Super yummy! But I had to tap out because the portions are extremely generous. We also had some great drinks. I really enjoyed the mango margarita, our friend had the blue ocean margarita, and the hubby had the mango reed and jungle bird. All are agreed that Khoo deserves a return visit. Quality and Different Last week we decided to take a night off cooking & try some new restaurant around our area, this new restaurant is the only one around here for Malaysian food. Being adventurous and fond of spicy dishes we decided to give a try. Very nice set up with a full bar & the dinning area is very spacious, friendly wait staff & good was up to our expectation, certainly will go back & try more different dishes on the menu. Terrible customer service. i ordered through Uber eats and the restaurant included food I was allergic to and asked to be kept off. they blamed it on Uber and refused to assist in any way. they would refund my money. I asked for another delivery without a refund just so I could eat dinner as I was home alone with my baby and couldnt drive. they told me they only deliver up to 5 miles away and I was 6.5 miles away. despite the fact that I order from them weekly they made zero effort to fix the mistake. the kept blaming Uber and telling me I should have called and ordered directly from them though admitting they can't actually deliver to me. I made it clear I could get a refund from Uber but the money wasn't the point. it was needing to order corrected to eat dinner. I will not be ordering again or recommending them. read more

ordered food to go for my son and I, but then we changed our mind and wanted to eat it there. An old Asian lady told us we weren't welcome to eat there, even though the restaurant was completely empty. She said she couldn't waste their time attending to us because we originally ordered it to go. It was Friday the 15th of November around 5:30. She should absolutely be fired. Rude rude rude. Never again will I bring my family around those people. We did not deserve to be treated like that. read more

We came to Khoo for a date night. I was excited to see a restaurant that served both what my husband and I wanted - me sushi and he Chinese. We were greeted with a friendly staff and a table right away. Everyone from the host/hostess to the servers were smiling and kind and accommodating. We got our orders in and did not wait long for a phenomenal meal. Sushi was so fresh and amazing, portions were huge and so delicious. Drinks were fantastic! We will definitely be coming back. This is my go-to restaurant to order delivery from while at work. We placed an order today at 4:40 and it was in our office ready to eat at 5:05. It was AMAZING. The gen ck was spicy and the chicken skin stayed crispy under the sauce. The crab Rangoon's are the BEST my coworker and I have ever had. Stopped in for lunch today for the first time. Staff was very friendly and food was delivered quickly. I had the General Tao's Chicken lunch with pork fried rice and egg roll. Everything was delicious! Chicken was tender and not the typical grisly chicken you get at other places. Sauce was very flavorful and the portion for lunch was perfect! I can't wait to come back and try the Malaysian Fried rice. read more

Fantastic pan-Asian food. We ordered the combination plate of orange chicken and it was DELICIOUS! You get your choice of dark meat or white meat chicken. We live in Boston and go to Chinatown restaurants, and this rivaled those delicious restaurants. And the sushi? FANTASTIC! I tried the sweet potato rolls (awesome), the California rolls (really delicious), and the soft shell crab specialty roll (also delicious). The only recommendation I would give is they shouldn't put the spicy mayo on the roll because it's overwhelming and spicy. Other than that...everything was delicious! And the staff is very friendly and helpful. I will surely be back for more! read more

Outstanding Food, Great tasting dishes. The shrimp fry rice was very good. One of the best that I have tried in this area. This was our first time here. We ordered shrimp and pork fry rice. The General Taos chicken and the Shrimp, Calamari and crab salt and pepper platter. The platter was great, the seasoning was on point not too much or too little. It was perfect. The fry rice was also good. We enjoyed the shrimp more than the pork. We felt the pork in the fry rice was a bit soft for our licking. Besides that it was good. I would have liked a little more flavor on the rice, but that's my personal choice. The service was outstanding. Our waiter (Terrance) was knowledgeable, friendly and very professional. Was meh. We do take here and there and have ate in occasionally. On several occasions, the food was very salty (chicken wings) or oversly sweet (orange chicken). The last time we went, the food was meh. My kids love wings so my biggest gripe this time were the wings. They were very salty and very small for $11.50. On past occasions the seasonings and condiments were a bit bitter (burnt). This time, I was pleasantly surprised how quickly they came out and that is because they weren't even cooked gresh. You can actually taste the oldness. With that said, go try it. They have different offerings than your usual Chinese/Asian restaurants. I'll most likely eat there again. :D read more

I've ordered take-out from here several times already. Love the loh bak which is very similar to the Chinese ngo hiong although the skin is a bit different. I've also tried the curry puff (tastes good but would have liked it to be crispier). Perhaps don't fully close the box you put them in so that the steam will vent out. The Singapore mai fen is great. Noticeable curry flavor! Bubble tea was not great. The boba were not cooked properly. The salt and pepper wings really good and spicy. I'm not familiar with Malaysian cuisine so I'm slowly working through the menu. So far, it's been good. read more

Khoo is Killin' it! Formerly know as Jack's Penang in West Warwick, they have a new menu and they are doing great job over there. I had the Chicken in Oyster Sauce luncheon combo with white rice. Mike had the General Tso luncheon combo (with white meat) and Brian did a large order of Hot & Sour Soup. Feedback from both of them was high marks. My Chicken in Oyster sauce was excellent, all the vegies where fresh, it was a clean healthy dish and a nice way to close out day 7. Khoo offers a lot of unique dishes that are of Malysian origin. They are really noted for their soups and curry, but their Chinese menu is respectable. Visit Khoo for Lunch or Dinner as they offer combination plates for both times of day. Absolutely some of the best Chinese food I've had in a long time! Loved the option of the chicken fingers instead of the egg roll on the combination plates. I had the egg foo young and it was delicious My wife had the sesame chicken and said it was great! We had the beef teriyaki and scallio pancakes which were light and tasty. would definitely recommend highly. read more

I was initially excited when I saw there's a new place serving Malaysian cuisine and that I wouldn't have to drive 45 mins to Boston anymore every time I craved Malaysian cuisine and hence drove over to Khoo. Outside appearance looked like fast food joint but you shouldn't judge by the cake by the icing, so I went inside. I already knew what I wanted and so ordered the roti canai and the nasi lemak after looking up the menu online and got my glass of wine with the yelp checkin (ps only gnarly head and Ecco domani on the wine menu) Got my roti canai first which was nice and crisp, a little oily for my liking but good nonetheless. The curry was Aok and I've had better before. Got the nasi lemak next and it was a huge disappointment. Although it had all the components of nasi lemak, it wasn't what I was expecting or similar to what I'd had before. The anchovies weren't really there and I've never had fried chicken with nasi lemak before (not sure if that's their version). Overall it's another Chinese restaurant with a full bar that says they can also make Malaysian. Good place to eat if you know what you're getting. read more

Came in here to try it out as we had never been here before. Got an extra large berry scorpion bowl that was very good. Chicken fingers and fries app was very large and great value. Just recently discovered this gem. Great tasting, Aunthentic Malaysian food. Wide variety of choices, clean indoor seating,friendly staff and delicious tasty food. I was happy to find this restaurant on Yelp after some business stops last night. They exceeded my expectations on all fronts: cordiality, quality, cleanliness, service, promptness, ambiance. The waiter helped me select a low-carb plate which was perfect - Chicken with Bok Choy, and a plentiful serving. I highly recommend going off the beaten track and finding this location on Rt. 3 in West Warwick. They also have large screen TV's in the bar area, which was nice since I was solo. read more

The young woman Sahara that works up from is so kind and friendly, she's very helpful and will make sure you have a great meal. All of the dishes I have tried are incredible. From the Vegetable Vindalo, to the garlic naan, to the vegetable samosa, you will not be disappointed. But be SURE to order the Mango Sticky Rice for dessert!!!! It is INCREDIBLE! I always get some to take home too :)

There was no music in the background just the sound of the bar patrons and the few in the dining room. The server was good but like all Chinese restaurants you have to ask for more water. I ordered Chicken chow Mein for my meal. And it is exactly the same. The rice is good and the chicken chow Mein is good. Definitely worth the try. I do suggest larger plates because the food was falling off it. If you like the same look and flavor this is the place to go. This is def a 3.5 out of 5 so I gave them a 4. Def give it a try.

The food didn't even look the same as what I saw on TikTok, so I'm not sure if I came on an "off" day or what. Maybe they had a different cook that day. Not sure. The other thing that is frustrating about this place is the hours are not consistent. It says they're open until 7pm but I've tried coming a few times and the place was closed even though the hours online say it's open. So it feels like a gamble sometimes when making the trip out there to get the food.
