My review will speak only for the Mango Sticky Rice as this was the only item on the menu I ordered. I have tried their sister location (Good Thai on Wheel), which I thought was amazing. I came to this location because I was in the area and craving dessert. I saw pictures of the Mango Sticky Rice online and thought the presentation was amazing. The dessert did not present like the pictures and I was told that the person who normally makes the amazing presentation was not in today. Besides the disappointing presentation, I thought that the dessert was very plain. It tasted like something that I had made and can make myself. But, if you were looking for lunch or dinner, I highly recommend! As the Crispy Salmon Pumpkin Curry and Lemongrass Chicken Over Pad Thai that I ordered from their sister food truck was amazing and drew me to this original location! read more

Came here today while visiting from Humboldt County, California. Found through a basic google search and was not disappointed. All of the staff were super nice and also chatting it up with each other and laughing. That's always a good sign to me. Makes it seem like the restaurant is a decent place to work. The food came out super quick and was all super fresh and delicious. I got the house salad and green curry with tofu. My friend got the ginger & vegetable plate with chicken and a Thai iced tea. We loved everything 10/10. The portions were huge so we both had plenty of left overs. Definitely recommend and will definitely be coming back. read more

Also, a few reviews also suggested this place isn't authentic Thai Food. The owner is straight from Thailand. Does an Americans' visit to Thailand make one a qualified Thai Food critic? Mmmm....no! Here's what's to love about Khun Thai: authentic, fresh, and quality food, good service, and nice ambience especially with live music. They are always sensitive to accommodate people with food allergies and intolerances. Spice is relative and personal. If you're afraid of the spice and heat, ask for "0" spice and the chili condiments to be brought to the table. Put on your own chili to taste. Try Khun Thai for yourself. 2nd visit to grab takeout and again delighted! My husband and I drive up and down the coast once in a while and we have found this is a great spot for take out to bring to our hotel in the evening. We have had a few different dishes with the Red curry w/chicken, Shrimp Fresh Spring Rolls, and Pork garlic lovers stir fry being the most recent. Small restaurant tucked away downtown that we stopped at after visiting the hiking trail near the wastewater plant. There's a small parking lot with plenty of spots in the back. The Thai beef noodle soup was surprisingly tasty with a unique sweet and sour broth. The pad Thai was on point with plenty of sauce and vegetables. Stopped in for lunch and was pleasantly surprised to find such a good Thai restaurant in the little town of Brookings. My wife is vegetarian, and it is often a challenge to find good vege food along the coast. My wife ended up with Golden Cashew and I had the Crispy Chicken Basil. I've eaten this same dish at several other restaurants, but I think this was my favorite one. The sauce was delicious, the chicken was fried and tender, and the portion size was generous. I asked to sub out the green peppers and add broccoli and that went off without a hitch. My wife ordered 3 for spicy (0n a scale to 5) and thought it was about right, maybe just a touch on the too hot side. I ordered "mild" and mine was just right too, although a heat sensitive person might have thought it too spicy, so be careful, it's easy to get Thai food that's so hot it makes your hair sweat! We finished up with mango sticky rice. It was delicious and a real treat. Perfect way to end a great meal! Service was good, restaurant and bathrooms were both clean. The only bad part was the parking. They have a small lot, so we ended up parking in the Fred Meyer parking lot and walking across the street. Overall, I would highly recommend Khun Thai. Currently living in Medford and just visited brookings this past week. Kuhn Thai is one of our favorite go to spots. We were at the hotel when we were trying to place an order for a Khun Thai but just could not seem to get through. For most people this would be kind of irritating but we also understood that with everything being takeout right now the phone lines could be backed up. Decided to drive down there and place a to go order instead and then realized how busy they really were. We still proceeded to order and still had our food in under 15 minutes. Watching people do takeout nonstop and still having food in such an efficient matter was why am writing this review. Times have changed and we need to appreciate and have patience. After reading all the reviews, I was expecting a really nice experience. Unfortunately, I didn't get the experience I read about. The only thing that keeps this at 2 stars is pretty good customer service. We started out with the Gyoza and they were a little greasy, but knowing they are fried, I can overlook that to a certain extent. I ordered the Tom Kha Soup with a side of rice. The young lady asked how spicy I wanted it and I stated Medium. I wish it would have come spiced Medium because then it might have had some flavor. My soup was watery and bland. There was a hint of the Tim Kha flavor and I know they used Coconut Milk, but as watery as it was, I swear they added regular milk and nothing to give it the creamy texture I am use to. Hubby had Holy Basil. We think they should have called it Holy Cilantro or Holy Find the Basil. The dish was covered in Cilantro and he could only find about 2-3 Basil Leaves. At least they got his spice level at least close (between Medium & Hot). Otherwise he said it was fairly decent. Overall, meh! Think we will end the day with Ice Cream so at least we have a win for the night. read more

Our recent meal was very disappointing. My wife and I have been eating here/getting takeout about every couple of months for the past 5 years. We've always enjoyed everything we've tried... until now. We've eaten lots of Thai cuisine in Seattle, California, and Colorado and my wife cooks Thai dishes; so we know our way around. The takeout we got last week didn't cut it. The potstickers tasted like they came out of the freezer at Walmart. The usually excellent red curry was bland and had hardly any vegetables in it. We thouht maybe it was just a bad night, but my neighbor says he ate there a week before us and had a similar experience. I sure hope they turn it around! The service and workers were great and wonderful, but the food flavoring, portions and pricing is not worth the price. This is americanized Thai food, I actually had to ask for condiments (fish sauce and chili sauce) to flavor the food a bit more. Stay away from the sticky rice, it came out so hard that it seemed like over microwaved rice taffy. $15 for 1 piece of overcooked thigh leg (I think you can get more chicken from KFC next door for $15 for 20 pieces of buffalo wings) Redcurry looked yellow and had very little meat and veggies, it was mostly sauce. It only takes a tablespoon of paste to make a pan full so sauce. I'm not sure why the veggie/meat portions couldn't be more generous for $15? I'm sorry but I get better tasting Thai food (w/ more meat and veggies) in Palm springs. I've also been to Thailand, this is nothing near it nor would you be asking for more sauce to fix it. read more

This staple restaurant location in our small town needed something to fill the void of the retired A&W building, I never would have imagined in my youth a Thai food restaurant succeeding at this. Now after some years this has become a staple in our town, the spice - flavor - variety all hits the spot whenever it comes upon us that we are not sure what we are missing from our food. I drove up the Bookings a while back to play on the beach. I didn't have many expectations for finding vegan restaurants but after frolicking all day long I was famished! I pulled up my Yelp app and crossed my fingers. Much to my surprise, this gem popped up! The layout reminds of an old taco bell or generic fast food joint that has been converted into the now Thai restaurant. Large seating area with plenty of booths. The menu is large and features all of the favorites. We got vegan fresh spring rolls, pad Thai and curry. The spring rolls were good, can't really go wrong there. The curry was good. It didn't have as much spice and flavor as I like but it was still tasty. The pad Thai was definitely the feature of our table! The sweet and spicy seasoning was perfect. They had generous portions of tofu and the noodles were cooked perfectly. All in all, if I ever find myself back in Bookings, famished and looking for some grub, I will definitely hop in to this place! read more
