This was literally the best Thai food I've ever had! As a vegan, options and flavors can be limited but it's something I'm used to. However this didn't feel like it was missing anything at all!! I got the drunken noodles (no egg, vegan) and it was amazing. All of the vegetables tasted super fresh and the big slices of tomato were an unexpected but delightful twist to this dish. We also got to have their mango sticky rice dessert which is made with coconut milk and it was phenomenal! We got everything to-go and ate it at our campsite. I've been a customer for 3 years. I was always amazed that a small town like Brookings had such killer Thai food. And as a vegan with limited choices, I ate here 3 times a week. Well, they changed their menu, and decided vegans were no longer part of their market. They eliminated all main coarse vegan options, refuse to remove fish sauce from any menu items, and said on the phone, "oh well, tough break for you." Very disheartening. Our last 2 visits have been disappointing. #1. Brought friends who had never had thai food. We ordered 6 entrees, 3 appetizers. Greasy appetizers, cold dried out pad thai. Water glasses were not refilled. #2. Ordered take out. Was specific no eggs, no cashews. Got pineapple fried rice, Holy basil, 1 appetizer. Got home. Fried rice had lots of eggs. Ok, mistakes happen. We love this place! They are nice, the place is clean, and the food is wonderful! Yesterday after a long day in the sun kayaking, we ordered take out so we didn't have to cook. It was ready faster than we could have even made dinner! They were super busy as usual at dinner time. They bagged up our food and away we went. Part way home my phone rang & it was the nice young man that had given me our food. He said "I'm so sorry but I think I forgot your beef noodle soup." Omg seriously have you *ever* heard of a restaurant calling you to tell you they forgot part of your order?! I circled back to pick it up & he was so kind & apologetic. Being half Thai, I am very particular about my Thai food. But living in the US has made me temper my expectations. Good Thai food is not a given even in big metro areas that have many Thai restaurants run by Thai people. That being said...I'm not sure why, but Thai food in small coastal towns tends to be much better than US average. This place certainly was. We originally were going to get takeout but decided to dine in so we could eat from the proper serving dishes (very important!) The decor and music was very relaxing. We ordered Tom Kha, Pad Thai with Lemongrass Chicken, and Seafood in Clay Pot. We also were craving Larb which we didn't see on the menu...but we asked if they had it, and they were happy to make it for us! Everything was delicious and fresh. The Tom Kha came in the proper metal serving bowl that stayed hot until the last drop, and we could taste the galangal and lemongrass. It's difficult to go wrong with Pad Thai, and they didn't. The Seafood in Clay Pot was loaded with salmon and shellfish and hit the spot though it could have used more salt. But I'm glad they offered brown rice with it. The off-menu Larb was excellent. In addition to being good, the portions were so generous that we had plenty of leftovers. read more

I'm generally skeptical of Asian food places outside of high Asian population areas, but this place blew my expectations away! Its good reviews and high praise are well deserved. The service was friendly and the interior clean and well lit. The back patio for outdoor seating is cute with string lights and a water feature. We ordered yellow curry (mild) with chicken and jasmine rice and it comes with carrots, potatoes, and onions in the curry, and it was fantastic! Easily meets the highest standards of taste and texture and spice accuracy- still has a little kick as curry should, but not intolerably spicy, and I have very low spicy tolerance. And it comes for a better price than all other places I've been to, for about the same amount. The beef pad see ew was also excellent, with the perfect amounts of greens and meat and it also came with egg which was a fun addition. Excellent quality food that meets the highest standards I've tasted, even better pricing. When I return I know what I'll be picking up for my next meal in Brookings! read more

Best Thai food Ever ! Never have had anything I didn't like , maybe a little too spicy sometimes but so delicious!!!

We have been here one other time, but weren't very impressed with it. I couldn't tell you what I ordered the first time, but last night I had Tom Yum soup with pork, and although the menu said it had rice noodles in it, there were none. The soup came out in a bowl that has a flame coming up in the center to keep it nice and warm while you eat. The smell of the fuel for the burner tainted the air and my sense of smell and since my daughter had gotten another type of soup with the same burner, it was hard to eat. The soup itself was quite good otherwise. Staff were attentive, but never offered a refill of my hot tea so I had only ice water to drink once my cup of tea was gone. The food is okay, but I don't think I will be heading over there again anytime soon. read more

After several vacation days of "wont be remembered" food, this will be. We had the appetizer sampler. Everything was good but it was my least favorite flavor choice of our honestly glutinously over-ordered meal. The papaya salad was so well done. Many thai restaurants do not get the sour, crisp, spicy, salty, sweet combination right on this dish. This restaurant nailed it. We ate from the special menu but I am sure anything here would be well done. We had the sizzling seafood platter and the prawns with asparagus. We enjoy spicy food and this spice was lip burning hot without sacrificing flavor. We requested extra spicy. Any heat level for your palate can be adjusted. Let's be honest. When ordering thai food and determining spice level, there is a weird trust dance that must be developed with your server. This dance includes the "how do they judge spicy? When they say thai hot do they know what that means? Are they from the midwest?" Judgements are made on both ends. "Is that server looking at me and making assumptions about what I am asking? I really do mean thai hot? Do I look like I mean it? Was there any question in my voice?" Flavor is delicious. Choosing your heat dial was perfectly personalized here. My review will speak only for the Mango Sticky Rice as this was the only item on the menu I ordered. I have tried their sister location (Good Thai on Wheel), which I thought was amazing. I came to this location because I was in the area and craving dessert. I saw pictures of the Mango Sticky Rice online and thought the presentation was amazing. The dessert did not present like the pictures and I was told that the person who normally makes the amazing presentation was not in today. Besides the disappointing presentation, I thought that the dessert was very plain. It tasted like something that I had made and can make myself. But, if you were looking for lunch or dinner, I highly recommend! Came here today while visiting from Humboldt County, California. Found through a basic google search and was not disappointed. All of the staff were super nice and also chatting it up with each other and laughing. That's always a good sign to me. Makes it seem like the restaurant is a decent place to work. The food came out super quick and was all super fresh and delicious. I got the house salad and green curry with tofu. My friend got the ginger & vegetable plate with chicken and a Thai iced tea.
