I've been here a few times and the sushi is consistently solid. This time I came with a few friends and we ordered a sushi and maki platter along with some appetizers. The karaage here isn't my favourite but the sushi tasted fresh. Our server was really friendly and gave us some recommendations and was attentive to our table. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is small but they have plenty of seating and I've never had trouble getting a table.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] On weekends I'd probably make a reservation especially if coming with a group. There's also lots of parking in the plaza but it can get quite busy. read more

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Kibo Sushi House located along Yonge St. near Centre Ave serves up Japanese food in a casual setting.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Having multiple locations around the city, Kibo has become a well known spot for decent sushi with reasonable prices. I can only comment on the take out at this location as I've ordered from them via delivery apps a few times. Menu wise, Kibo has daily specials, appetizers, soups/salads, a la carte nigiri/sashimi, temaki, Kibo rolls, hosomaki, grande makis, Kibo premium rolls, sushi and sashimi combos, udon, bentos, donburi, and platters. This location also sells alcohol as well. I often grab the sushi and sashimi combos which is a perfect meal for one. The few times I've ordered Kibo the quality of the fish was fresh and the combos were perfect for a dinner for one. The great thing is that the combos also come with a side miso soup and a salad as well! No complaints regarding the quality of the fish and the sushi is packed well. This location has parking on the side, very limited space because some spots have a lot of boxes or garbage toppled over when we came for dinner. They had us seated at a 4 seater bench section, we got seated just had to wait about 5mins. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place has high top tables, bench seated tables as well.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is on the dimmer side, lit enough but not a bright place.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Food prices at this place is pretty good. You can get bento combos, sushi combos, along with other nigiri, hand rolls and rolls to choose from. What's good here is you have the option of getting only shrimp tempura for the tempura option. Huge plus for many. I ordered the premium salmon lover which is not bad. Tasted fine. They usually put wasabi inside the nigiri so just a heads-up. The only downside which is a pet peeve to me at sushi places is they cut a THICK salmon sashimi for both mine and my stepmother's order. Not pleasant to eat. I would come here again. Who doesn't know Kibo? From their take out biz to dine-in Omakase, Kibo is doing things right! Their newest location is south of Steeles on Yonge, on the north side, lower half of a raise strip plaza. I think Kibo has around 30 locations and continue to grow, even through the Pandemic. Stepping in, the initial errr..."aroma" of the place is a bit to take in. As they are on the lower part of the raised plaza (you'll see what I mean when you get there), you could consider this place a pseudo basement operation. Once you open the door, you get a face full of bathroom cleaner mixed with bathroom deodorant scent. Yeah... it could detract from your dine-in experience. You do eventually develop "nose-blindness" but it's my hope that they get this issue fixed as time goes on. The place is very well decorated with dark colours and wood everywhere. Their clean and simple kitchen and sushi prep area is nice. Nose thing aside, I stepped inside and said, I will dine in! Need to show some conviction here as I think we were the only dine-in client at the time. I'm known to turn around and walk away if I don't like a place, but I do like Kibo and this is the closest location to where I live so... I will brave it! And YELP IT!!! That is my sworn Elite Duty!!! LOL I ordered the Love Boat for Two... Probably better to just call it some sort of combo as I think they missed the boat! Seriously... they missed the boat!!! The combo came on a stone platter - meh... makes for a less than stellar photo. AND as a photographer kind of guy, I was expecting a BOAT! OK juvenile rant over... for now. Come on, you know me by now that I may not let things go so easily! LOL! Anyhoo... the Love Boat for Two (which is awkward to order when it's like two dudes sharing it - not that there is anything wrong with it!!!!) Miso Soup, Salad, Edamame, Tempura, 32 Pieces - Sushi, Sashimi & Maki, Red Dragon 10 pcs, Spicy Salmon 6 pcs, Assorted Sushi & Sashimi 16 pcs - for $48.95 This is an awesome choice for any ... XXXX, XYXY, XYXX, or XXXYXX, XYXXXY (just in case you are small eaters or into threesomes)... Bonus points for those who understood that and more for those that can be creative ... teeheehee.... It is good to have Kibo as a restaurant. Their table services were attentive and efficient. The restaurant was overall clean, although the floor with the sloped side of the entrance was a bit oily or slippery. Which I think everyone should be careful. The food is okay with the ingredients choices not being the best for sushi but this is normal for Canada. If you was better fish, can pay 10$ more per meal at Japanese fish market restaurant. However, what I didn't like was some sushi meal or rolls being too reliance on the sauce, masking the fish flavor or the lack of it. Also, the calories suggestion on the menu per the meal, I found that being doubtfully too low. read more

I have always enjoyed Kibo Sushi House, and there is one located downtown near my home. This week I had to place a lunch order for my office & it was a huge success! Our lunch started off with about 10 employees, but when I mentioned sushi & bento lunch - the number of desk bookings jumped up to 50! We ordered 50 terriyaki bento boxes, 2 chefs choice of assorted sashimi platters, 1 large assorted sashimi, maki and sushi combo platter, veggie tempura & shrimp tempura. All this food & it was still within our weekly lunch budget. Kibo Sushi at Centre Park actually doesn't deliver themselves but you can order through a food delivery app. However, when I contacted them directly to order for my office, they were very friendly & accommodating! They delivered the order to our office themselves! All food items were carefully packed & delivered in a timely manner - WITH LOVE! Lunch was absolurely delicious & everyone was happy! My wife, who is Korean, found out about this place by word of mouth. We decided to go with the whole fam and that mean also our two year old - which may have been a mistake. The food was fresh and the portions generous. They even gave us a little something extra for free - unfortunately, we had already ordered way too much. A sushi platter, rolls, tempura, etc. I thought everything was fine. Nothing really stuck out at me. However, the price was very affordable. Since our first outing to the restaurant we've also ordered takeout. There was a cash discount, too. This place is a little out of the way and the parking may be a little bit of a challenge. But I'd recommend this place - good place for a date or takeout. read more

Miso Aburi Scallops were very flavourful - nicely torched, giving the scallops a nice grill / char taste. They came with red and green seaweed, and a bit of fish roe. Large Premium Hana Don contained a good amount of fish and seafood, including a whole abalone, uni, shrimp in the shell, aburi salmon, ikura (salmon roe), salmon sashimi, tuna sashimi, yellowtail sashimi, other various fish sashimi, tamago (egg), and a few slices of cucumber on a generous bed of rice. There was essentially no wait for a party of three so we sat down immediately. They gave us two 750ml of water in a wine bottle, and were very prompt with their service. Their menu has really good pictures and it was so easy to make our selection. We asked our server Nat for recommendation and her recommendations were top notch! Prik pao Talay: the seafood stir fry was bomb! A tad sweet but such a decent amount of seafood and what a complex flavor profile! 5/5 Crab fried rice: 5/5 spectacular. Great wok hei or the pan fried smell to the rice and each grain was separate. A classic Thai dish done absolutely right and delicious. Kor moo gaeng kua: 5/5 the pork was so freaken good! The cut of pork is pork neck and it was just so juicy and absolutely amazing in the coconut curry. Thai tea: its southern Thai tea, and you can't often find that in most Thai restaurants, so it was spectacular to see it. From the service to the food, I highly recommend this place!

It said established in 1919, so we thought it's a good sign it's been in business over a century; although not this location specifically. Their history in the 20th century was that they started in Berlin, Germany in 1919, but they were a Jewish family who ended up immgrating to Israel in 1933, opening their store there, and expanded locations throughout Israel. Their history in Toronto & North America (including some in the US) is much more recent since opening in 2017. Unfortunately, my closest is New York City; none in Maryland or DC area. This location is in busy downtown Toronto. We sat outside on their big patio area as the weather was warm and could enjoy the view of the buildings, people, cars, etc. Server was friendly answering our questions. I ended up getting an egg benedict with salmon in a croissant. It was creative and delicious take on egg benedict. The only issue was it was messy to eat in the croissant, but I didn't care as it was so delicious. My girlfriend got a Belgian waffle with blueberries, whipped cream, etc. It was unique and very good & sweet too as I tried a bite. This is why I'm giving it three stars -- I could have made a stink but didn't think it was necessary to do so. All in all -- I'd recommend this spot to folks but don't go there thinking the service will be great.
