Usually I don't have a problem with that, but I was already hot from work.. was hoping to be able to cool off and enjoy my meal. I was with my husband, so I asked for an extra ranch so my husband didn't have to share.. and they brought out the smallest cup they had... cheese on the fries was hardly melted.. but editable.. I was gonna go for 4, but decided to step it up a notch and go for 5 s tonight. Why? Well, because my Cajun pasta was bomb AF and whoever was in the kitchen tonight knows what they're doing. The pasta was perfect, the sauce was delicate and spicy enough. The sausage, shrimp and chicken were plentiful. And I even got the parm I requested as an extra. I cook (a lot) and I love to really enjoy food that's tasty. Do I like to be disappointed? Nope! Let's start positive, waitress was great! Food tasted wonderful. And the restaurant was clean. However, the manager at this location and the hostess was very unfriendly. This location has their high top tables closed due to staffing which I understand. What I don't understand and agree with is the manager separating a party of 7 over two four top tables. This causes the waitress to run between two tables and also causes our party to practically yell over the booths to talk. I'd definitely consider going to a different restaurant if you have a large party. This locations manager doesn't know how to handle large parties. read more

Cheese Fries were really good. Grilled Chicken Caesar salad was average. My husband had the Cajun Pasta also average. Service was excellent. We went around 2:00 on a Friday and it seemed fairly full. The service was so bad! It took forever to get seated and I understand after the pandemic, most places are understaffed, but this was crazy. The food only came out quickly because me and my friend ordered everything at once. When we finished, we stacked all of our plates together and waited. Not once were we checked on after we received our drinks and meal. My friend made eye contact with our waitress several times to let her know we were ready for our check and she continued to chat with the other waitresses. We waited nearly 20 minutes after finishing our food for our check. The food itself was really good if you're into the American bar food/pizza but I don't think I'll be coming back. I placed an order online and when I went to pick up my order another customer parked next to me and the cashier came out and retrieved an order from her and provided her another one. Once I went in to get my order she proceeded to give me the order she retrieved from the other customer's car. Not my kind of restaurant, came here with people from work celebrating a b-day. We all thought the boss was treating us so we all came. But she did a bait-and-switch and we all had to pay our meals. I ordered the fish & chips, it was pretty mediocre, the fries were so salty they should have an entry on their menu: "salt with a dose of fries", would give people a better idea. The Fish and chips is what I had and they were hot and delicious, though I would tell them to hold off just a little on the seasoning next time. Hubby had wings and fries and they were pretty decent in price and he says the dry rub was very good as well. It was a very inviting atmosphere and I could see us coming to watch football with the (open space concept regarding the bar area) as the bar was surrounded by TVs and there were tv's facing all directions so you will always have the best seat! The business itself has a nice setup and the wait staff was friendly, but the food...that's another issue. The steak looked like a little slice of rubber. The grilled shrimp was under seasoned. And my mom ordered Texas toast and when it was brought to the table, it was literally light bread that had just came out the toaster. The music is literally the only great thing about this place. We frequent Kick Back Jack's for lunch pretty often and the food has always been good! Prices are fair too! Service is ok sometimes good, sometimes they only come back to bring you a check. However the over sized massive cups are really unnecessary and hard for any elderly or small handed people to pick up. I've been to Kick Back Jacks several times and I've enjoyed my food almost every time, but this time I got the Philly Cheese Steak and it was not very good. It has just as much cheese as it has meat. This is exactly what you expect (and want) from a sports bar. Non-fancy food to binge on while you watch a game or two. The staff have all been exceptionally friendly on the handful of times I've been. The Cajun chicken pasta is delicious as are the cheese fries. The food is consistently good too. It's unpretentious and full of flavor. I've grabbed it to-go a few times as well, and the food has always been right, tasty, and warm when I pick it up. My husband and I have Patronized the new KBJ's in WS. It was one of my favorite places to eat, having visited the one in High Point , Greensboro and Durham. A little over a month ago we went there and was disappointed with our wings. They were so small you could barely tell what they were. When we alerted the waitress of this, the manager came over to use and said "this is what you ordered and this is what we are serving today". He was rude and short with us. We decided not to eat the wings and asked that they be removed from our tab. He was again condescending and rude and said we had to pay. My husband said we are not paying. He then told a waitress to call the police! While waiting in the police to arrive he came back to our table and said he would take 50% off our tab! As to why he didn't do this initially I will never know. We paid and met the police outside. The manager came out and said he wanted us banned from the restaurant! If we ever return, we would be arrested! My husband and I are law abiding citizens and don't even have a speeding ticket between us! We have traveled the world and never been treated this way. It has taken me to now to share this story publicly. I am sharing a picture of what was served to us. The manager needs customer service training and the restaurant needs to ensure the quality of their food. Oh, we contacted the home office in G-boro and received the same treatment. read more

Overall enjoyable. To be honest, I was not sure what to expect when walking into Kick Back Jack's of Winston Salem. I heard many mixed review of the chain as whole, most ending with sub par experience. However it became clear that most of that was due to fairly high expectations. If you are expecting a 5 star steak house...do not even bother stepping foot here. If you are expecting good quality for a large restaurant chain (think Buffalo Wild Wings or the few good Chili's that are left) then you will not be let down. Prices are good- most meals are $8-$12. Service was quick and friendly- we went prime post church lunch time (if you are from Winston, you know what I'm talking about) and were in and out in 45 minutes. Our table had a cheeseburger, salad, wings, and the cheddar chicken sandwich- all were cooked to order and enjoyable. Point is, they have now settled since first opening and met my reasonable expectations. I will easily be going back. read more

The manager Matt Cockerham is awful. A member of our party didn't like the food. He claims the "brand" stand by their food if it is made correctly. That's fine. That should be in writing, however it is not. He at no point apologized. Also, he didn't offer to remake the food. I had heard good things and perhaps had reaised expectations. Overall exceptionally average! After ordering they delivered mine and my kids meals but brought my wife's with no fries. They said they had to make more. Okay. I guess I can understand not wanting the rest of the food to get cold. Upon cutting into my burger it was exceptionally undercooked to the point of a raw Center. I notified the server and she brought out, someone I assume was the kitchen manager. I was told that they would bring it up to the correct temperature. But never offered an apology. When the burger was finally read delivered it was on a new bun with new fries. I assumed that they had we fired entire Burger because of the time frame it took. I was wrong. When I was asked to cut into it to check the temperature I ended up quartering the burger which made it virtually impossible on the bun. The manager, Elizabeth Vernon, came out and said they were going to make the pizza again?? I called it in curbside because I was short on time. Elisabeth told me I wouldn't dictate what she would do and the customer isn't always right(which I never mentioned) and I told her I didn't have time to wait and she said it would only take 4 minutes?? Really, that might be the reason this one was thrown together. She said she was used to bad reviews and it didn't matter if they got another one. I had someone home sick so I told her to give me the pizza back. I had to go and then she proceeded to ban me from the restaurant?? I said one ugly word the entire time and that was when I had had enough of this manager trying to remake a pizza that I called in for curbside to save time. I have never been ban from anywhere in my life and I am 55! She could have offered a discount card for the next time I visit but remaking an entire pizza while I wait was not an option for me. I didn't ask for anything for free just a discount for sloppy work. On my way home, their hired off duty police called me to tell me I couldn't come back. I've been to this Kickback Jacks only three times--but all three times were within the past month. I've been going to check out the wings, etc., and to watch the NFL playoffs. It really doesn't matter where you sit, because high-quality screens are visible from everywhere. The speakers are quiet enough so that you can converse with people around you. I sat at the bar all three times. And all three times, I have been waited on by Brittany and McKenzie--who were crisp, professional, quick and Extremely friendly. They check on you all the time, ("How are your wings? Would you like anything?") while they are constantly on the move. The place is perfect, with positive vibes and people of every stripe being taken care of people who care, and know what they're doing! read more

Went last night around 7pm, thought wow this is strange. No wait and plenty of seats at the bar. My wife and I sat at the bar. It took a couple of minutes to be greeted, even though she was standing directly in front of us. She actually walked away and then came back and laid menus in front of us and finally asked if she could get us a drink. My first mistake was I said check back. She acted upset when we were not ready to order drink immediately. Well she and several others proceeded to walk past us for the next 5 minutes. We seemed to be on ignore. As I said there was maybe 10 people at the bar. Well, way too many options within half a mile so we left. Biggest surprise was half empty restaurant on Hanes Mall Blvd at 7pm.
