    Cajun Alfredo Pasta

I ordered the cajun chicken alfredo for delivery. I had some credits expiring and wanted to try something new and this place had been on my list. Took about an hour for my food to arrive but overall it was decent - warm, good amount of chicken and broccoli - the sauce was creamy but slightly on the bland side. My delivery driver gets 5 stars though - she gave me a holiday card!

Fish N' Chips - they use flounder, not nearly as good in this dish as Cod!

If you are looking for an upscale, a bit overpriced, loud sports bar, with some pretty good pub food, this is your place! The majority of the space inside is given over to the bar area where large screen TVs dominate, even in their silence. I don't do the sports bar scene, but I like to drop in for an early lunch, where me and the rest of the blue hairs occupy the majority of the non-sports bar area. The pub style food is consistently solid, the young female wait staff are consistently looking for focus while wondering where to go when their shift ends, and the music is consistently loud & annoying! My last time in I had the Fish and Chips, and while the dish was OK it was not nearly as good as versions served at other restaurants that use Cod rather than Flounder. The softer-fleshed flounder does not hold up nearly as well in taste or texture. Would not reorder! Ambiance - 3 Service - 3 Food - 3 Value - 3

First timer! Came on a Sunday to watch football (go Steelers!). Maddie our server was great. Very attentive. Tried the lemon pepper and honey buffalo wings. We give them 6/10. Definitely would try other flavors. The mashed potatoes were top tier though. Atmosphere was nice & positive...people chillin and watching football. Will definitely be back!

I recently visited kickback jacks in Winston for my sisters birthday. It's your typical sports bar with lots of drinks and some yummy bites. Our waitress was really nice and helpful when ordering. We started our dinner with the cheese curds and they were really good. They were hot and had a nice crispy outer shell. For my entree I got the Cajun Alfredo chicken pasta. Overall I really liked it. It didn't really taste Cajun to me but rather just a creamy cheese sauce but it was still really good. They also gave my sister a complimentary ice cream sundae for her birthday, which she enjoyed. They also have lots of drink specials and their rum buckets are really good. I think this is the perfect place to go to watch a game and get a bite to eat.

    Rib jerky

Don't order the ribs! Brought me out the skinniest, skimpiest ribs that was like rib jerky. Manager offered to make me an additional half rack and brought out the same thing. Someone else in my party had thick ribs but I guess I got the butt end of the stick because mine were dry and barely had any meat on them. Waitstaff and managers we very polite, and everything else was good! Try the sweet potato waffle fries if you come.

Our party of 5 arrived and was promptly seated after a short wait. Our waitress popped over within a minute and was cheerful and attentive and eager for us to place our orders. She suggested the Firecracker Shrimp appetizer, which along with our drinks arrived in short order and was enjoyed by all. So far, so good. After our entrees arrived, we discovered that the mashed potatoes were cold, (not lukewarm, but cold), and the grilled steaks were overcooked. The salads never showed up and after we inquired about them more than halfway through the meal, we compromised and had the salads packaged in takeout containers to be enjoyed at home. The meal was winding down and we were close to receiving our check before an offer was made for drink refills, and the drinks themselves didn't arrive until even later. We loved the atmosphere and overall appearance of the restaurant. However, even with a fantastic waitress, the serving staff seemed completely out of sync, as the kitchen crew, bartenders, and drink servers were not networked in a coordinated manner. So, the family was a little disappointed as we had hoped for a better overall dining experience. I just want to add that we didn't show up at prime time (6:00 PM). Actually, we intentionally waited to arrive after 7:30 PM to avoid the biggest crowd. Yet even with the peak crowd gone and several tables empty, there was much room for improvement with the staff. So, bottom line: when you spend $175 at a restaurant, you anticipate great food, good service, and for the meal to flow smoothly. And our experience was lacking in a couple of areas.

Went out for a lunch the other day, our waitress was very prompt and service was excellent. Bar drinks were a little delayed but flavor of drinks and food were on point. From Roanoke but will be back the next time we drive through!

    Spinach & Artichoke Dip--AMAZING!!

We were in Winston-Salem for a weekend getaway. We decided to stop in and give this place a try. We are glad we did! The food and service was great! The spinach dip was absolutely Amazon!! The best I've had anywhere!! I ordered the Philly cheesesteak and fries and it was delicious. My husband ordered the seafood platter. He did not have one complaint! He said it was so good that no tarter sauce or shrimp sauce was needed. The service was great even though they seemed short staffed. The prices were decent. We will definitely be looking for this restaurant closer to home.

I'm going a bit against the grain here, but I can't see KBJ's as les than a 4 star restaurant. It's a sports bar...through and through. Fans of Tripp's, the previous occupant, will be disappointed, but if there were many of them, Tripp's would still be open. KBJ's is covered in televisions, so don't expect the food to be first notch here and you won't be disappointed. Any-who, on to the experience. The first thing that hit me was the smell (the restaurant smells something strange, at least on this night) and the oddish behavior of the hostess (I had to tell her four times we had three people). Beyond that, the service was good. We also received food quickly. We ordered the chicken philly (solid), the bang bang shrimp (star of the night), the garlic buffalo wings, and the hot buffalo wings (grilled wings on both orders). For me, there was more "burnt" flavor than dipping sauce flavor, but they were fall-off-the-bone tender. Not bad. Overall, it was a pretty good experience.

About 3/4 of this wrap was not chicken.

Today was my first time at this restaurant. We went for lunch and I was surprised at how busy the parking lot was. The door service was quick and our waitress showed up immediately and took the order. After that She was busy and slightly attentive and did not ask about our drinks the entire time. Not the worst service I have had but I wondered if she was new to the job or just overworked. I had the classic burger which was cooked right (medium) and had fried pickle chips on it. The burger was really good and super messy. The fries were hand cut and salted nicely with a decent oil flavor. Kind of reminded me of Five Guys fries. My date had a buffalo chicken wrap that tasted fine but mostly consisted of wrap and veggies. Not much chicken in that thar wrap, son! Paid about $21 for two lunches. Would I go back? I would.

Due to several health issues I am dealing with, I need to be able to check the nutritional information on the food before I order. I contacted the home office in Raleigh a week before my lunch to ask for the nutritional information. The automated reply said I would hear back in 24-48 hours. I never heard back. I ended up calling the restaurant the day before my scheduled lunch, and was passed from person to person. At one point, I was told they were a scratch kitchen, but in the next sentence was told they could get some nutritional information from Sysco. That doesn't sound like a scratch kitchen to me. Anyway, in the end, I was emailed a very old list with half the items crossed off, that did not match their current menu. I ended up having to play it safe and just ordered the garden salad with grilled chicken and balsamic vinaigrette dressing. Carolina Ale House has 22 locations nationwide. The FDA requires that any restaurant with 20 or more locations and similar menus at each location have printed nutritional information available to customers upon request.

Vegetarians seem to be forgotten by many otherwise-great chefs, and to actually be acknowledged is wonderful. Let me offer the following, with respect and only constructive intent: Statistics indicate that the vast majority of current vegetarians are former meat-eaters, myself included. And here's the thing -- when we get a craving for a burger, what we're mostly craving is the flavor and texture of a "real" hamburger. Your veggie burger was good, and again, the effort was most appreciated. But it was just a good sandwich. It didn't satisfy my hamburger craving. Usually an Impossible Burger or a Beyond Burger works just fine, and would probably save you a lot of trouble. - The mac n cheese side was delish, 5 stars. - Give this place a try.
