Pad thai
Brittanie R.

I ate her about a week or two ago. I decided to take a little ocean vacation for the weekend. A friend and I came here for dinner and it was so delicious. The place was pretty full, but it was spring break and a Friday night. They were able to make my pad Thai vegan. Their edamame was so delicious, the sauce that came on top was amazing. I even mixed the extra sauce into my pad Thai once we finished all the edamame.

Food is tasty and served quickly. Its on the main strip of shops. Service was friendly. Ambiance is old town restaurant vibe.

Food ok Service good Ambiance ok Overall our food was pretty good except for the crispy Perking duck. The breading was pretty bad and a duck meat inside was really tiny. The sauce they use is mid. Definitely not worth $25. If I was in the area again, I would come back.

Satay chicken

Ordered some take out to watch the World Series so can't speak much to the ambiance or service. However, I was impressed that the owner made good on remaking an order of pineapple fried rice that ended up being very spicy to the point where I could not eat it. She said it never should have been made that way unless requested and wasn't sure what happened but the fresh order of non-spicy pineapple fried rice was so good! The chicken and shrimp were not overcooked and I loved the bits of raisins and cashews added in. I could eat this again and again. We had 3 ordered of satay chicken and the cucumber and peanut sauce that came with it was perfect. The chicken skewers itself were a bit inconsistent as some of the pieces were a bit overcooked but some were perfect and moist. I would still order these again though. Overall, I was impressed with the quality of food and the prices were comparable to what I am used to.

Exceptional service and generous portions! The hot cheese puffs were incredible--crispy on the outside, perfectly soft on the inside, and totally addictive. I also had the Tom Kha Seafood soup, which came with a fragrant mix of coconut milk, lemongrass, mushrooms, cilantro, and onions. The presentation was lovely, and the seafood was fresh and tender. The broth - too tart or sour for my liking, however. (Maybe it was the cilantro?) I came back the next day to try the crab fried rice--and it did not disappoint! It was a hearty portion, with just the right balance of crab (real crab, not imitation), egg, onions, peas, carrots, and tomatoes. Definitely a spot worth visiting (and revisiting)!

The food was amazing especially the pineapple fried rice. The service was great the lady was very sweet and kind. The place was clean and cozy. The only problem was our sticky rice, it was very good however, the sauce on top wasn't sweet. Overall tho this place was great.

Green Papaya Salad

Wow, everything we tried here was delicious! It's a small and cute restaurant. The service was fast as all the food came out quickly. We enjoyed every dish we ordered--the papaya salad, the Tom kha, the fried rice, and the yellow curry. The least impressive dish was the dessert, which was sweet sticky rice with ice cream. Everything else was great!

Spring roll

Came for lunch today and remembered why I love this place so much! The service is always welcoming and prompt, and the food is delicious! I love the fried rice, the jungle green curry, pad see ew and especially the spring rolls with shrimp! I always stop by when I'm in Morro Bay.

I suppose that's the secret to longevity, and no doubt, Gordon Ramsay would be pleased - small menu means quick kitchen and fresh food -- not frozen. My buddy and I treated ourselves to all pork dishes: * Pork dumplings (soft, in an amazing sauce, and unreal ground and flavorful pork inside) * Double-pork (thinly sliced pork-chop, pan-fried noodle, veggies -- loved...loved...loved) * Pork Chow Mein (basically the same as double-pork, but steamed noodle, and not as good pork) Great prices, fast service, loved it.

I sat downstairs in one of the booths and had the cold bean thread salad. It was so yummy. I also enjoyed a $4 805 beer. So glad Mee Heng Low is here in SLO, next door to my favorite movie theater (the Palm), and serving delicious food and beer at reasonable prices.

Having lived in Japan for many years, I'm picky about quality and authenticity--and Poke Chef nails it every time. The fish is consistently fresh, the flavors are spot-on, and the menu offers that perfect balance of traditional Japanese touches and modern poke creativity. The service is exceptional. The team is warm, friendly, and incredibly attentive, making every visit feel seamless and welcoming. Whether you're grabbing a quick bowl or settling in for a comforting Japanese meal, they make you feel like a valued guest. Convenience is another huge plus--Poke Chef is ideally located right near Cal Poly and US-101, making it an easy stop for students, locals, and travelers alike. And for all this quality, the prices are extremely reasonable. It's hands-down the best value for delicious poke and Japanese food in the area. Highly recommended--Poke Chef is a standout you'll want to return to again and again.

I know what it's like for someone to come in so close to closing. The order took an embarrassing amount of time to make. I had to ring the bell to make sure my order had been seen and was being prepared. I definitely heard the sound of dishes being washed. I don't know if he was the only one on staff or not. If he was he was cleaning up instead of working on my order. He was obviously annoyed when I rang the bell. The burrito itself was a disaster. Basically just rice and peppers. There are supposed to be 3 different proteins. I found 1. I like spice but the amount of peppers and lack of protein made the thing inedible. $25 dollars (20+forced tip and tax) down the drain. This is not my first time at Poke Chef and I have enjoyed my experiences before this one. Maybe not all "5star" but normal enough that I felt no need to say something. I'd much rather have discussed my disappointment with management by email or phone call but I found no way to talk to them so feel forced to make this one bad experience public. If someone from Poke Chef reaches out to me I will happily remove this review.
