Catfish and Cajun fries. Overcooked some
    Jeff S.

This place has an excellent atmosphere. The woman taking my order was very friendly. There's plenty of parking right out front. Ih heard great things from friends so u was hoping to find another regular spot to get Catfish. Unfortunately I was disappointed in my dish. I got the Catfish and fries. The friend had the Cajun flavor. The food were ok. Just in the dry side and the Catfish was overcooked, almost burned so it was very dry. I was hungry and couldn't get back to the restaurant because of an obligation so I had to eat it. I had to take a sip of water to swallow each bite. I was really hoping this place was good. I need a Catfish spot in the area. I won't be going back to this place

Finally got to try this place and wasn't disappointed. We got a half pound of shrimp with the works, a basket of fried oysters with lemon pepper fries, and a basket of cheese curds. Everything was fresh and delicious. The seafood boil was perfect and not overcooked and the fried oysters were so yummy. It was my first time trying them! The service is also really good, they're super attentive and friendly! It's not the biggest restaurant it' so it may have a wait during busy hours. We went during noon when it opened up and it was not that busy, lots of parking out front as well.

Terrific service when we got their attention. This place is super busy. Also could use some help in small repairs on seating. Atmosphere is casual but crowded. Market prices are steep for me but I had a gift card so it made it more affordable. I would come back more often if I had a bigger budget. Got the Kickin Mix and it was super delicious but even at mild it had some heat. The flavor is great! Crab is fresh and full of flavor. I also really enjoyed the fried catfish. They have lunch until 3p M-F and Happy Hour only on M-Th. Parking is a bit crowded in a Friday night. Got some potatoes and corn to add to boil. Good choices for us!

Haven't been here in a minuteeeeee. Glad to know services is still top tier and the quality of seafood is still perfection. I ordered the half pound kickin mix and a side of rice and I couldn't finish it. Delicious as always! I'll be back

I've been coming here since they first opened, and honestly Kickin Kasian is still my #1 Cajun spot -- yes, even over Boiling Crab. The flavor just hits better. The shrimp are always on the bigger side and super consistent every visit. We usually order the Kickin Mix (mild) and it never disappoints. Their Cajun fries are bomb too -- lowkey mandatory order. Prices have definitely gone up over time, but people still line up for a reason. Wait times can easily be 100-120 minutes. Pro tip: if you live nearby (I think within about 5 miles?), you can check in through their website to save yourself a lot of standing around. Not 100% sure on the distance limit, but it's worth trying!

Loved loved loved kickin KAsian! Came here with a few friends on a Saturday night and really enjoyed my visit. The restaurant doesn't take reservations so we ultimately waited almost an hour for our table but it was worth the wait. Thankfully the restaurant has a texting system so we were able to wait some place else until our table was ready. We absolutely loved the options that we could choose for the seafood. We opted for the family feast option which we were not disappointed. We did the combination sauce and absolutely loved that it came with white rice since it was simply delicious. I will definitely be back to try more!

My last visit was not as satisfying as my last (6+ years). The wait was expected to be long, which was more than an hour for a weekend. When we finally dined, the server was not quite attentive and was hard to flag. We were mainly there to get the shrimp boil. The sauce was very good, it still had the flavor that I remember years ago. However, the shrimp came out mushy and it felt a bit gross because of the texture. We chose not to bring this up as the wait was already long and the service was slow. I unfortunately don't think I will be back as the only positive I experienced was the sauce. Parking is in the strip mall it is in, which usually there are spots but can get busy.

I recently got into seafood boils so I wanted to try something close to home and a lot of people I know enjoy this place. I just want to start off by saying the service here is amazing. Everyone is so friendly and helpful! This is the best seafood boil in Northridge! Although, it is a bit on the pricier side than other seafood boil restaurants, they really nailed their flavors. The shrimps are big and juicy. You can also has for as many lemons as you want. My favorite order is the topless shrimp, kasian seasoning, and medium spicy (perfect for a kick of heat but not dripping sweat), make it the works, and add a side of rice. I love their micheladas and thai iced teas here. They serve margaritas, soju, and other beverages as well. They get really busy in the afternoons, you might expect a wait time. They now charge for gloves if you would like them at 50 cents! There is plenty of parking.

Ordered here for Easter and it wasn't bad at all. I just thought the mix was a little too salty for my liking but the way they cooked their seafood was spot on. Shrimp, muscles, crabs, potatoes, and corn was cooked to perfection. I would just love it a little less salty. Service was fast, we called and then we picked up the food in a span of 20 mins. Staff was super nice and friendly as well . I enjoyed dining in here as much as ordering it out. Chill vibes always and they have good drinks as well.

Ask the Community - Kickin KAsian

Are you doing dine in now or is it still takeout only?

They've had dine in for a while now

Can we not join the waiting list on Yelp anymore?

I think they stopped doing that because it was creating to many issues. People with yelp check ins would get priority pushing people back who checked in in person

Are they currently selling gift cards?

Physical and digital gift cards are available at the store only.

Are any of the seafood boil sauces dairy free?

You can get sub butter with broth. It does make the sauce a little spicier. I personally enjoy half butter half broth. It's not as oily but still deeeeeelicious 🤤

Is kickin kasian open today sunday on 4th of july?

    Yes. With special hours.

Can I just buy the Kickin Mix sauce alone?

    Yeah they're around $3

How many pounds come in one order of shrimp ? Is the company website eat.chownow.com to order directly from your website?

Is this place open at all I'm right now?

Yes they've been open for takeout and you can order through delivery services like door dash and such

Why is the prices raised $3 more online?

If you're ordering from doordash, know that DD hikes up the prices for a lot (not all) restaurants. Compare chick fil a prices and you'll see what I mean... If you can, it's better to order through Kickin Kasian's website and pick up.

    Do they sell their sauce?

Yes! They sell the sauce. It's $3!

How much are the snow crab legs and king crabs today?

They go by weight of the crabs They won't tell you until it's cool…

Is there anything there that is keto friendly in terms of spices?

I’ve only eaten there once and someone in our large group did the ordering. The shrimp can be ordered mild, medium and hot spiced. All I know it’s red. They also offer butter cooked if spice is not your thing. We had fried okra and corn. You can…

How do you reheat a seafood boil?

My coworkers ordered the Chicken Gangjeong in both the Soy Garlic and Sweet & Spicy flavors. I only had a bite of each, but both were juicy and seemed to be made with dark meat chicken. The Soy Garlic was actually sweeter than the Sweet & Spicy, which caught me off guard, while the Sweet & Spicy had more of a mild heat than an overwhelming kick. I ordered the Grandma Tteokbokki at spice level 2 and added melted cheese and ramen. Those add-ons were absolutely worth it. The cheese made the sauce extra creamy, while the ramen soaked up all of the flavor and turned it into a hearty, comforting meal. Spice level 2 had a nice kick without overpowering the dish, making it easy to enjoy from start to finish. Overall, everything we tried was satisfying, and I'd happily come back to work my way through more of the menu. We decided on Oi Asian which had great reviews, so why not. First off, let me say that there is plenty of parking, however, the parks are extremely narrow for some reason. It was a struggle to get in and out of the car due to the width of the parks smh. Anyway, once we got inside, there wasn't anyway at the register and after standing there for a while, I noticed the kiosk so unplaced my order there. There were only two cooks in the back. We placed our order and sat down. The place was clean but everything seemed like it was do it yourself. The boys were thirsty and there wasn't an option for water on the kiosk, so I called one of the cooks from the back to pay for a water and he rang me up. It was pretty rough in there. At one point I had to get up and grab my own fork by reaching over the counter. Once our food was ready, one of the cooks brought our food and I wasn't really feeling my meal, which was the dynamite crawfish bowl. I didn't like the sauce it came with. I just picked at the crawfish and left the rest. As for the boys meal, the fried chicken adobo bowl was REALLY good! I ended up eating theirs because my oldest son didn't like it, which was great for me lol. My youngest and I tore that bowl up. Anyway, the verdict is, I may search around for other options but I know that if I can't find anything else I can always grab a chicken adobo bowl but the service was pretty nonexistent. That chicken adobo bowl saved it. OOO 3 out of 5

The woman on the phone gave us an estimated wait time of 10 minutes. When we arrived, we quickly noticed how small the parking lot was. There were only two spots opened. I'm not sure what it would have looked like if we came during rush hour, but at least there was spots for us to park in. When we got inside it was pretty small with about 15 seats available for dine in. There was one other party there at the same time we were. Once we paid, we saw the fried shrimp coming from out of the kitchen, so we knew ours were almost ready since they just needed to wrap them up. This place was the definition of a local mom and pop business. Mom was running the cash register, and Pop was in the kitchen. They were two of the sweetest people. She even came out to the dining area to hand us our food, rather than screaming at us from behind the counter. We drove home (5 mins away), and I unpacked the food to find that each box was labeled. It probably wasn't necessary since we could very clearly see which was shrimp and which was bulgogi but I appreciated the small touches. My partner and I each had one half of the shrimp and one half of the bulgogi and it as unanimous that our favorite was the fried shrimp. They do include a sauce that has the slightest kick, but in my opinion it was the best kind of spicy where it isn't painful and it's actually quite pleasant, complimenting the fried shrimp very well. Overall - we are so glad we tried this little local spot. The fried shrimp ritto was so good, I want to try other items, but I know I'll be craving that fried shrimp ritto again.

A 'ritto is a "burrito" style wrap-- white rice with seasoned protein, kimchi, special mayo, + optional chili all wrapped in Korean seaweed. The burrito itself is a bit fragile since it's large and the seaweed is the nice thin kind, so it's nice to eat it with a fork over a plate/box so you don't miss any bites I like a seaweed wrap which is fewer carbs than a flour/corn tortilla. The white rice is fluffy and sticky (all good things). The special mayo did it for me. The lettuce (romaine?) was crispy and fresh. There's space to sit inside if you want to dine in, and parking is easy as there's a lot. Located at the corner of Saticoy and Winnetka. Price is comparable to other protein-packed sandwiches in the Valley. And I like supporting local businesses that make yummy food. Looking forward to coming back soon.
