Our Memorial Day experience was absolutely wonderful. We waited for about an hour. The food was flavorful and fantastic. The reason for the omitting of one star is because the crab legs were a bit light on the meat the atmosphere the service and their efforts to correct it and offer something else instead was A1 in the customer service area. So if you want a bigger selection, come for dinner or go to a different seafood boil restaurant(I recommend u go elsewhere) First off, it's a pretty empty restaurant, Maybe 3 tables there that was in the restaurant also eating but i couldn't get a water refill for almost the whole time I was there. Employees would literally ask " is everything ok" 30 mins into eating... so basically when I'm finished is when you ask if I needed anything else. I would notice that waiters would go take orders from the tables but wouldn't check up on you... when you're the table right next to it.. like 2 bird 1 stone? It was both our first times and had been excited to try their Crab legs! In total we ordered the Snow Crab legs, shrimp, the cheesy bites, and some veggies all in the kickin sauce with their spicy heat. The food came out so fast.. we had our bibs tied on and went straight to work. The cheesy bites were literally just that. Cheesy pulls and fried crisp texture, they were nice but nothing fancy. And for the snow crab.. those claws weren't just made for attracting mates..they were made just for memorable meals like this. Very good quality, very easy to crack open, and such tender crab meat. Overall Rating: 3/10 I visited Kickin KAsian on a quiet Monday evening. I want to start by saying the service was excellent, the staff was very friendly, and the wait time was minimal, which was appreciated. However, the experience with the food was quite disappointing, especially considering the price point. I ordered the classic shrimp boil, and unfortunately, every single shrimp was either overcooked or bad; the texture was entirely mushy. The main issue, however, was the sauce. It was extremely oily, to the point where it almost made me feel nauseous. Compared to several other seafood boil places I've tried in the area, this was a significant drawback. The flavor itself was acceptable, but nothing memorable or great. Given the quality of the dish, I also felt the pricing was high. I have gotten the same items for much cheaper and with noticeably better quality elsewhere. Came here on a Thursday around 5:30 pm. Thankfully the parking lot had spots open and there was no line to get seated. We were greeted and seated immediately. Most of the tables were taken and we were surprised to see some open since we know how popular this place gets. We actually had just beaten the rush because a line started forming quickly after we ordered and there was a wait for tables. The inside doesn't have a ton of seating, especially compared to Boiling Crab. But it gives it a cozy atmosphere and you can grab employees' attention easily since they're always close by. We decided to get a side of cheese bites with ranch ($7.50), a half order of traditional shrimp ($12), an order of snow crab ($42), 2 orders of corn ($3.90), an order of potatoes ($3.25), and an order of quail eggs ($2.50). We got all of it in the kickin mix sauce on a spicy level. Total came out to $80 without tip. The food came out extremely fast. First was the cheese bites. They were okay, I wouldn't get them again and I don't think they were worth it. The bigger ones were crunchy and had a nice cheese pull but a lot of them (the smaller ones) had cheese spill out and get too crispy, leaving no cheese inside and just a hard shell. Nothing too special. We were very pleased with the amount of shrimp and crab but disappointed in the tiny potatoes. There were 3 of them and they were all about the size of my big toe (not very big). The whole boil was delicious though and so was the sauce. We had to dig to the bottom because all the spices and garlic were at the bottom of the bag and there's so much butter. It was super flavorful and lots of garlic. We also got salt and pepper with lemons. The lemons were ripe and super refreshing to drizzle on the shrimp. Everything was cooked perfectly. Please don't go here -- I had such a disappointing experience. When I arrived, they told me there was an hour and a half wait because there were 24 people on the waiting list. I decided to look around and couldn't believe that there were still about 9 empty tables just sitting there. It made absolutely no sense. Wow I was pleasantly surprised with the Cajun seafood here. There was no line when we came on a Wednesday 4:30pm, but I can imagine it being packed during a popular time. We started off with the cold sesame noodles appetizer which complimented the oysters basket. The fries were crisp and the oysters were plump! I've been coming here for 5 years. I live in Long Beach and was introduced to it by my friend who lives in the area. Amazing food, perfect amount and texture of sauce for the bag of shrimp. I only get shrimp at these Cajun restaurants. But damn they had really good naked shrimp back then. I would just get a thing of rice and put in the bag and dig in with a spoon. No hassle peeling. The servers would always bring it out fresh and tasty in a timely manner. I recommend if you like boiling crab you'll love this place, especially the sauce is ratio is just better. I like that it's a bit on the liquid side, where boiling crab you kinda have apple sauce which is fine. I've made the trip with a friend from Long Beach to La Habra heights to pick them up to go to this place. It is 100 percent worth it. They did change the shrimp option no more naked shrimp but it's still really good, and will be going back soon! The environment is on the loud side but it's good, you're about to eat spicy food. So many other places have sauce that just doesn't have the flavor and isn't in the meat the same way. I don't know what they're doing, but they need to keep doing it. Location 4: Busy part of Reseda, off Reseda Blvd. in a large shopping center. Plenty of free parking. No Valet. No EV charging. Venue 3: Basic indoor-only seating. Contemporary and bright inside decor. No reservations but you can get on the waiting list on Yelp. Always very very busy. One shortcoming is that there is no wait area and they told us not to wait inside and made us stand in the freezing cold for half an hour until a table was made available :( Another thing I found strange was that they add a 3.5% surcharge to your bill. Why not just increase your prices by 3.5% if you have to? Food 4: Large selection of seafood boil (in a bag) and fried baskets. With seafood foil you get to add sides including rice, sausage, and boiled whole potatoes. There is also a selection of sauces and 10 spicy/temperature levels. Please see the menus I have posted for more details. The seafood boils are delicious but somewhat difficult and messy to eat out of the large plastic bags that they come in. Be prepared to get messy and dirty :) They do provide gloves and bibs and there is a wash basin right there in the restaurant area to get cleaned up. We had the mussels boil with sausage and potatoes with the original Kickin Mix seasoning, mild, and also the fried shrimp and the Cheese Bites. All were delicious. Drinks 4: They serve beer, wine, sake, soju and non-alcoholic drinks. They also have mixed drinks made with beer (different kinds of Michelada) and a variety of Margaritas. I had the Thai Tea which was delicious. Service 4: Our server Katelyn was wonderful; very friendly and helpful. The last word 4: Overall a nice establishment with unique but messy food. I ended up ordering the same thing this time which was the fried shrimp basket, original flavor. Super crispy and perfectly breaded. Their Cajun fries are SO good!! Nice and crispy and delicious dipped in every sauce. I can't choose which sauce is best so I switch around. There's the sweet chili, cusabi, tartar, and even the cocktail sauce! Squeeze some lemon and good to go. I've had their Thai tea last time but didn't get it this time since we were grabbing boba after but it was tasty and definitely recommended! I've tried a few other popular places known for their seafood boil and nothing has came close to how amazing kickin kasian is! I absolutely love garlic and spices in my foods so this was spot on for me, so flavorful i can't get enough of that sauce! The spice was very mild so I would level up next time. The shrimps were huge! They don't play with the portions! Definitely get the kickin mix sauce on your seafood boil it's a must try! Another item I tried was their mango lemonade. I usually find lemonades and juices too sweet but this wasn't. Refreshing and delicious! The cup is massive so this is something you can definitely share with 2-3 people. Was craving seafood boil for my bday and wanted to support a local joint. I've been here before, and the flavor and quality is comparable to Boiling Crab imo. I was especially hoping for crawfish but they ran out when I had gotten there at 7pm on a Sunday ): Plus it was a 1hr+ wait so we just got to-go (15-20min wait instead). $21 for a pound of traditional shrimp and $17 for a pound of fresh manila clams is kinda pricey though. Shrimp texture was chewy and bouncy - same for the clams. Nommy. Inferno I for the clams were a bit on the saltier end, but with a splash of lemons they provided it was bomb. My mom & I love this spot! We always get the Catch for 2 w an order of Snow Crab legs (Kickin Kasian Mix recommended). This was also my first time trying quail eggs and I couldn't get enough. The sausage is also very good but after trying both the peeled and the traditional shrimp, I recommend traditional. The service is very nice. We get seated very quickly on busy and non busy days. In your message, you stated for to go orders there is a charge of $2 for the pure heat flavor (The shut up sauce). Well even when dining in it was always the same $2 charge on my bill. Now lets check the facts here, if there were 2 full bags that were ordered that obviously already had sauce in them, why would you assume that I needed another full bag of sauce. I did find it strange because we are ALWAYS brought "a side" which has always been a small container of sauce to enhance one of the big bags flavor. I have been coming here for a few years now and this has never happened before. When picking up the order, I was given another physical receipt with the option to tip/tip again. Kind of caught me by surprise for some reason. Got home shortly after & started eating the shrimp but it was extremely difficult to peel the shell & what not as the shrimp kept falling apart. (I've done this before) the shrimp kept getting mushy. My roommate who works with seafood explaining that the shrimp was most likely undercooked which is why the shrimp was soggy & falling apart. We spent about $50+ on this & it was very disappointing to say the least that we didn't even get to finish a quarter of it. The manager Nancy gives each customer friendly and professional service and the entire staff was kind and helpful. Hands down some of the best seafood I've had in LA. I have been to a lot of places to find a good seafood boil.the biggest downfall is they don't offer gloves but I just bring my own. The crab shrimp dipped in the seafood boil sauce is amazing. They offer Tatar sauce which is great because all seafood places don't. The seafood bag comes with tiny corns already which is different and they offer sausage but I wish it was sautéed and not just boiled because it gives a weird texture.
