My parents took my brother and I here, bc they came here before and enjoyed it. We went to their smaller location, they have multiple locations by the way. Make sure to come early, bc they can become very busy and the smaller location has a smaller amount of seating. This restaurant has plenty of food items to pick from. The staff were very friendly and were able to have lovely conversation with my family and they very kindly asked if we were finished to take away our plates after we were finished. Disappointing to say the least. A formerly great secret spot has really lost its charm. They should never have expanded. Prices are way too high for what they serve. Always loved Kihei caffe but today was disappointing. I got a vanilla latte that tasted like chocolate milk I didn't even drink it. My boyfriend got the chicken and waffles which were dry and tasted like they made the waffle days ago & the chicken was over cooked and had no flavor. I got the basic scrambled egg and sausage breakfast , my eggs were runny. The food was not good but the service always is so that's why I give them 2 stars. read more

This place came in clutch. We in some neighboring condos and it was only a 5 minute walk. You order your food at the counter, seat yourself, then they bring it out. We had omelettes and shared the banana macadamia nut pancakes. They were amazing. Quality food. Real bacon. On another day we had the yogurt parfait and it was great as well. They have a large assortment of beverages and full bar that opens around 11ish I believe. You can sit inside or out. Will definitely come back next time we are in the area! read more

Okay - with a heavy heart we have to say farewell again to our favorite breakfast/brunch place. This is our second Maui trip this year and we continue to visit this lovely indoor/outdoor place to start the day. Sometimes the lines are a bit long but the service is fast and things move quickly. Among our favorite items are the cheesy grits, waffles, pancakes, and traditional Benedicts. We've also enjoyed the delicious cold coffee of the day and the cinnamon rolls. This resterant is the best for breakfast. Fast friendly staff. The food is outstanding! We have had the Surfer Dude sandwich which is enough for 2 people, the enormous and hard to stop eating cinnamon roll. Have also had the Eggs Benedict and Biscuits and Gravy with eggs. All delicious! read more

I've been a patron for the last 20 years. My go to place for breakfast. Somehow the new Maui Coast location hired a manager that made me promise to never spend another dollar here. This morning poolside breakfast started with him telling the employees "if your bank comes up short.....I'm holding it from your pay check". This was said loud enough most having breakfast at the pool did bar could here. That said, my chorizo and eggs arrived for breakfast. First bite.....crunch.....egg shell. Next three or four bites.....same thing. I politely ate my tortillas and beans after and left the rest of the egg shell eggs on the plate. Never complained and was ready to pay and leave. While this was happening the new manager was still getting into his workers over petty stuff. That's when I decided to see what kind of manager he really was. I called him over to tell him about the egg shells in my food. His response "what do you want me to do????? Fire the cook"????? And left me. He made me feel like I was looking for a free meal. Long story short......I called the bartender over and told him to charge me twice for my breakfast as long as he told his manager this would be the last dollar Kihei Cafee ever received from me as long as he managed for them. OMG. Best breakfast EVER. We are on vacation and normally only go to a place once so we can try other places... but this place was too good to pass up. We went back for a second time this morning and it was equally as good as the first. Popular items at our table were the giant cinnamon roll, 2 egg breakfast with biscuit, bacon and potatoes, macadamia nut pancakes and the breakfast sandwich (bacon, egg, cheddar cheese and avocado). Pool Bar: Service at the pool bar was absent any aloha and customers seem to be an inconvenience for bartenders. Servers acted annoyed about a request for a drink menu, drink options, or recommendations. We ordered the kalua pork loco moco and the cinnamon roll French toast that was the special for the day with a lilikoi lemonade and a mango lemonade. Everything was great. Barry is the owner of this establishment. He was taking my order at the counter. I ordered a coffee, however, within a few moments I said actually can you please change that to a lemonade? He proceeded. To tell me " no, your coffee is already up on the counter." I looked and sure enough it was. So I asked "oh so it's getting cold as we speak?" And Barry said "apparently ". Lahaina Kihei Caffe just opened back up after the fire. We decided to give it a shot since there is not much to choose from in Lahaina. Service was excellent from the time we place our order and receiving our food. The restaurant is dine in or you do have outdoor seating if you choose. Food is subpar, service is atrocious, and they have no permit to run a dance floor for a bunch of drunk patrons with drinks in hand on a wet pool deck with a bunch of has-been 90's bands. Ate breakfast there today with a friend from out of town. Food was ok. Best part was a beautiful woman witting near us. Will never go to this location again because the owner/order taker was unfriendly - probably thought me and my friend were gay - quite the opposite. The people ahead of us in line were asked if they were kamaaina and he took their phone number, etc, for a discount. He didn't ask me - even though I have lived on Maui for 10 years.
