    Organic Genmaicha Tea

Kiin provides an excellent and unique Thai food experience that's unlike any other Thai restaurants around the city. Each tasting course was beautifully plated that made use of intricate designs and vibrant colours. From the three flavoured chips of the amuse bouche all the way through to the ruby water chestnuts with coconut sorbet, the courses all presented traditional Thai flavours in surprising formats and textures. The standouts for me were chips in tom yum, green curry, and massaman flavours (we'd buy bags full if they were ever mass produced). Yellow curry with grilled lamb was a surprise hit for me with the perfect cook on a very tender rack. The Thai tea sphere and coconut sorbet were interesting and memorable as well. I would highly suggest getting the tea pairing tool. At $40 I thought it was pretty steep initially but it ended up pretty worth it with 5 very unique 4oz pours. Be prepared to be pretty full with this pairing! I'm not a fan of rose flavours typically but once again, I was pleasantly surprised that my favourite ended up being the Cha Tra Mue, a sparkling rose oolong. It was lip puckeringly tart and delicious. Service was warm and friendly. Overall an amazing night full of enjoyable culinary surprises and that's all you can really ask for when sampling tasting menus. When the food can subvert your usual tastes and preferences, you know that Kiin successfully turned the ordinary into extraordinary.

A Royal Thai Feast at Kiin - A Christmas Celebration Like No Other! Sometimes, dining isn't just about eating--it's about experiencing culture, artistry, and a story woven into every dish. Kiin had been on our bucket list for a while, and finally, with a drumroll... we made it! A night of elegance, indulgence, and authentic Thai royalty. Ambience: A Regal Thai Dream The moment we stepped inside, we were transported. Kiin isn't just a restaurant--it's an experience. The royal Thai aesthetic, the delicate presentation, and the thoughtful plating made it feel like a dining affair straight from the King's palace. The 7-Course Tasting Menu: A Symphony of Thai Perfection I opted for the vegetarian menu, while my husband went for the regular one--and let's just say, both of us were utterly captivated. Amuse-Bouche: A taro cutlet (forgive me for forgetting the name!), but it set the stage beautifully--light yet flavorful, hitting all the right notes. Sweet, Sour & Spicy Dumplings: A rollercoaster of flavors in every bite--perfectly balanced, delicately crafted, and an explosion of Thai essence. Vegan Custard Soup (Tofu & Mushrooms): A unique and earthy delight--though I wish it was just a touch warmer. (The only part of the menu that had room for improvement!) Noodle Soup: One word: Fantabulous! An umami-packed broth, Asian-inspired aromatics, and a deeply satisfying flavor profile--easily one of the best I've ever had. Mains: A Regal Affair Massaman Curry with Coconut Rice - An absolute showstopper! Served in a fresh pumpkin shell, the curry was velvety, rich, and had a surprising hazelnut crunch. The rice? Served in a fresh coconut shell, with tender coconut to scrape and enjoy alongside. Pure, indulgent luxury! My husband was equally foodgasmed (yes, I said it!). Desserts: A Grand Finale Mango Sorbet with Chili - A fire & ice moment! Cool, tangy, with just the right kick of heat--and my daughter thought it was an ice cream treat made just for her! Jelly Dessert (in a soup spoon) - So delicate, so delicious! Kiin even brought a complimentary one for my little one, making the experience even sweeter. Rice Cake Dessert - Perfectly sweet, exquisitely decorated, and just the right portion. Drinks: My husband enjoyed his beer, while I went with tea. While the tea was packet-based, the $3-$4 price for a whole pot felt incredibly reasonable. A Special Touch: The cherry on top? A beautifully designed menu souvenir--such a thoughtful keepsake for a night so special! Final Verdict: 5/5 - A Royal Thai Dream! Food: Gastronomic excellence with stunning presentation! Ambience: Opulent, romantic, and elegantly Thai. Service: Warm, attentive, and kid-friendly. Uniqueness: Every dish told a story--crafted with tradition and creativity. Extras: Menu souvenir + complimentary treats for my daughter? That's next-level hospitality! Returning? Without a doubt! If you're craving a Michelin-star-worthy Thai dining experience, Kiin is THE place.

What an end to Summerlicious 2025!! Yes, I said no more @liciousto but after receiving numerous glorious reviews about @kiintoronto, I knew I had to try & take part for their Summerlicous menu and OMG, it really is up there as one of the best & memorable meals I had in my life. The meal was amazing from start to finish. I started off with their Signature Royal Thai Dumplings which I had in the past but it was a long time ago. That is the appetizer to order as it had burst of different flavours with each bite. Entree was a toss up between the Short Ribs vs the Seared Scallops. It was so hard to choose as I wanted both I ended up going with the short ribs. The meat just melted in your mouth. It was so tender that no knife was even needed or provided. The curry wasn't also spicy to me. I finished off all the curry sauce. if I could, I would have licked the bowl. I even contemplated taking the sauce home but there was wasn't much left For desserts, I was debating very hard on the what to get. Not a huge fan of Coconut and I also wanted all the desserts on the menu but I went with all the staff pick and had no regret with their Signature "Tum Tim Grab - Thai Red Ruby Dessert". Their Sorbet was so smooth and this was my second time having water chestnut. I am going to start adding water chestnut in my everyday eats. I was by myself so could only try 3 items & it left me wanting more . I want to say thank you to everyone @kiintoronto, especially the hostess Ariana who ensure I had a great experience & made me feel so welcome. She was so kind, friendly and helpful and gave great suggestions / feedback. Everyone at Kiin were so friendly: Super thanks to also Victor, Laura, Juanita etc. Every server are extremely happy to serve & answer all questions, and is not limited to just your designated server. So service is top notch. Even though it was fully booked, I was able to get a seat in the end. There are still a few spots available at the bar at that time of this post so highly recommend to check them out if you can tonite. I will definitely go back to try their tasting menu. Follow me to see where I go next #camerafirst Check them out! A must! https://www.kiintoronto.com/

Had the most amazing birthday experience at Kiin for my birthday. We did the tasting menu with the wine pairing. This restaurant deserves and earns its accolades for accommodating gluten intolerance. They were notified during the booking and assured us upon arrival that all dishes would meet this criteria for the specific guest. The space is cozy with a warm intimate feel. The servers are very knowledgeable and attentive with service; every dish was timed to perfection. We were extremely satisfied with the quality of service provided and the exquisitely prepared dishes along with the perfect wine selection. I highly recommend the Kiin tasting menu experience.

This place is AWESOME!!!! It draws you in right from the street, at night this restaurant looks so intriguing from the sidewalk, you can see in and you just want to be inside eating! The aesthetic of this restaurant is right up my alley. I loved the lighting in this restaurant, dimly lit but with lamps on each table. My boyfriend and I came here for dinner and we got the 12 course option. First of all...the food was a work of art. Every single dish that came out and was presented in front of us was lovely. And once that first bite goes into your mouth you appreciate it even more! Our server was amazing, explaining all of the dishes very well, and also how to eat the dishes. I can't even tell you what my favorite dishes were because they were all AMAZING. If I had to choose my favorites....the second course was just delicious, I forgot what it was called... and the lamb chop was HEAVENLY... All in all, this place is top tier! A MUST visit in you're in Toronto!

Cha Chug - Pulled Milk Tea
    Cynthia W.

As soon as I sat down at Kiin, I was in awe of its interior design, including the ornate lighting, custom ceramic cutlery rests, and usage of bright colours. This feeling continued throughout the meal as I felt like I was in an intersection of Asian royalty, the Victorian era, and a cottage core aesthetic. Coming from the same owners as Pai, I had high expectations. I ordered the Khao Mun Gai/Gai Tawd (Thai-style Hainanese ginger-garlic rice with chicken, winter melon soup) and a Cha Chug, Thai pulled milk tea. The food was hearty but didn't blow me away, and the drink was a little too sweet. However, the overall experience was good and I'd definitely come back to try their brunch items.

Good food! I came here for lunch today around noon. We were seated promptly upon having a reservation. We ordered moo ping, dumpling, boat noodles, pad Thai chicken and chicken fried rice. On the drinks we ordered the owliang ( Thai coffee) All the food were really good. I really enjoyed the moo ping and It's one of my favourite Thai dishes. Service was amazing, our server was always checking up on us and ensuring we taken cared of.

Rama Caesar and Thai Iced Coffee

I've never had Thai breakfast before, and being somewhat of a brunch enthusiast, I immediately made a reservation when I found out that Kiin now does brunch! When I first stepped into Kiin I fell in love with the light airy aesthetic of the place, everything was so beautiful. We started with the Rama Caesar, which tastes like a regular Caesar but with Tom Yum soup as a base. The Thai iced coffee was also pretty good but I found it quite similar to Vietnamese iced coffee. We got all three of the brunch items and they were spectacularly presented and tasted equally as good. I especially enjoyed the Thai crullers that came with the Khai Kratha. We ended the meal with some donuts and they were also very good. While I wouldn't say the brunch was the best food I've ever had, dining at Kiin was definitely an exciting culinary experience. Thai breakfast was something I've never tried before, the aesthetic of the restaurant was pleasing and the service attentive. Overall a great experience.

Best Thai branch I've ever had, and it was such a unique experience overall! My group had a reservation and we were seated immediately after arrival. Interior was so cute and a mood lift! The menu was attractive, and I had a hard time deciding which dish I want to get. It features traditional Thai food, with a bunch of Thai drinks, including espresso drinks. I loved the congee. All ingredients and spices go well together!

Far exceeded my expectations! This place was absolutely amazing from the moment we walked in. Cute and cozy restaurant vibe. Fabulous service. Amazing food. Checks all the boxes! We had some lovely Rosé bubbly to start then ordered the golden bag dumplings. They were nice and crunchy and a nice spicy filling of chicken and veggies inside. Loved the presentation in the cucumber cups . Then the coconut soup with mushrooms, another flavorful dish. Lots of different mushrooms, with a nice broth of coconut milk . The lemongrass was so good I could Smell it. Loved this soup. The green curry with chicken, wow, so different from ones I've had before. Nice spice level, the chicken was wrapped in betel leaves, which gave it such a different texture . With other veggies this was a nice balanced dish with the rice. Highly recommend this. Everything I ate was just perfect. I loved the small intimate layout of the place too. Also I saw it was featured in the Michelin guide. One of our best Toronto meals was here!

Entering the restaurant - sets the mood immediately

It's been two years since Kiin's been open - and my best friend has longed for them every day. Now that they've soft reopened, she immediately made a reservation... and I had the pleasure and blessing of being her date! For their soft reopening, they are doing a Royal Thai tasting menu (until all staff are trained, etc.). My best friend misses the soft shell crab curry dearly, but we created some new favourites from this experience! We started off with the appetizer platter, a melange of one bite wonders. Our #1 was the Miang Kung, a jam packed bite of fresh and dried shrimp mixed together, wrapped in a betel leaf. It was spicy, sweet, and fishy, all at once. The Khao Tung Na Tang, some rice cake mixture with pork and shrimp, reminded me of the glutinous fried dumplings at dim sum (ham shur gok). The Pla Haeng Tang Mo, watermelon with dried fish and dried shallots, was a pleasant surprise. The earthy, jerky-like fish was balanced by the fresh watermelon, with a pungency reminiscent of watermelon feta salads. Then came our next round of richer starters. The Chor Muang, or Thai flower dumplings, were doughy - reminded me of tong yuan with peanut fillings, with a slight peppery note. Thoong Thong was a deep fried fish wonton served in a cucumber with sweet and sour sauce. This was an absolute delight, and the cucumber was surprisingly refreshing. The fish cake, or Tod Mun Goong, tasted more like a meatball, rich in lemongrass. Finally, the duck Laab was smoky and meaty - just like bacon. We each ordered a different main and shared. The Khao Soi Pad Haeng (dried khao soi) was a showstopper. It tastes so much more complex than Chef Nuit's normal khao soi at Pai. This one had great textures from the mix of noodles and such great flavour - mix of sweet, fragrant, and spicy (but be warned - the chili oil on the side is very spicy!). On the other hand, the Pad Thai Hor Kai (pad thai in egg with shrimp) was disappoint. The egg was dry, and the head of the shrimp undercooked (but the body appeared tough). It lacked in flavour relative to the amazing khao soi. We were then served an assortment of main courses. The lobster tom yum had an intense, tangy flavour and decent chunks of lobster - definitely need to tone the brightness down with bites of the Khao yum (rice salad) inbetween sips. Unfortunately, the chicken was mediocre and dry, but this was remedied by the boombai short rib. The short rib was fall off the bone tender, served in a rich sauce perfect for the crispy and unique roti to soak up. The morning glory had so much wok air - my only complaint is that the portion size was tiny!! We ended off with dessert, which sounded meh at best, but ended up being a pleasant surprise. It was like fire and ice. The sweet potato balls were effortlessly light - you couldn't tell they were fried! When dipped in the condensed milk, reminded me of the fried mantou. The water chestnuts with ice were coconut with some chewy bites of boba-like balls with crunchy water chestnut inside. The cocktails and mocktails were amazing here too! And the service impeccable - all the staff were so friendly and kind. Would highly recommend Kiin to anyone looking for the perfect date night.

Great food and great atmosphere! When you enter, you are greeted with the cozy, warm, elegant interior. We got there an hour before the reservation and the staff let us in early. They do coat check at the restaurant so you don't need to have your jacket in the way at the table. We got the set menu and tried both noodle options. The appetizer portions were small, so it was great to taste many different types. For the main courses, everything was tasty in different ways. The beef curry and soup were rich in flavour. The Jeow bong was full of texture. The only thing we didn't like was the chicken curry (goeng breu gai), we didn't the hint of flavour from one of the spices. Lastly, the coconut-mochi like dessert was nice touch. The meal was yummy and filling. I would recommend visiting for special occasions!

Pandan Butterfly Pea Latte and Thai Iced Coffee

Our visit to Kiin was a really pleasant experience. We got there for our reservation at 11:45am for their brunch experience. We visited with a couple of close friends. The host was promptly and attentive to get us seated and with menu in hand very efficiently and friendly. We all order some drinks to get started, Greg had the Thai Iced Coffee and I got their Pandan-Butterfly Pea Latte. Both drinks were beautifully presented and delicious! Good size drinks for the price, I have to admit. For our food Greg ordered the traditional Thai breakfast dish of JHOK, this was the most exciting part of our brunch experience, he liked that this was a different take on your typical Thai food. It felt fresh, authentic and very cool way to try something different, while maintaining that Thai flavour we were seeking. Me in the other hand ordered the KHAO MUN GAI which is part of the 'rice' section of their menu, for some reason I was expecting more, like a little "wow" factor to a very classic dish, but it was just a good take on fried chicken and aromatic rice, it was good, but not as worthy as our other option. Our friends both order the KHAI KRATHA and they both said that it was a different way of having eggs and pan fried Chinese sausage, but felt a little underwhelming for them. We finished our experience by ordering their Fresh Mini Donuts for the table to share and those we such a delicious and different way to end of a sweet treat. Would recommend getting all their three flavours, they can accommodate that into your order if you ask them. Their prices were fair at least for their brunch menu, we found it very comparable to other restaurants in the city. Overall our service felt real and authentically Thai. The space is really well decorated and with a good taste for Thai design. All their staff seemed knowledgeable and well verse on the menu. You can also tell their kitchen staff is determined in providing you with the best level of quality and delivery. We were able to get an intimate table, where all the four of us were able to chat and catch up comfortably, while enjoying a different take on Brunch! We will definitely need to try their dinner menu next time.

Stopped by for lunch and got: - Khao Soi Pu Nim: Curry was thick and tasty. Decent size for the soft shell crab. - Tom Yum Fried Rice with Shrimp: Great heat and strong flavours with the rice. Would have liked a bit more shrimp. - Laab Calamari: Well copled though weirdly a bit bland. Overall, a pretty good Thai spot if you're in the area.

Service personnel, many with genuine Thai heritage, execute their roles with palpable passion for the menu's cultural context. The kitchen approaches classical Thai flavor constructions with respect, evident in the balance of fundamental taste components--the interplay of spice, acid, and umami articulation. Signature preparations achieve notable authenticity, with ingredients selected for both quality and cultural accuracy. The soft shell crab pad Thai exemplifies the kitchen's willingness to honor tradition while exploring thoughtful variation. The dining environment presents an aesthetically refined space, though observations regarding atmospheric density suggest opportunities for enhanced comfort optimization. The pricing structure reflects aspirational positioning within Toronto's Thai dining landscape--a consideration worth acknowledging when evaluating value proposition relative to alternative establishments. The establishment's restrictive approach to dietary accommodation--particularly regarding plant-based protein substitution in curry preparations--represents a notable limitation for certain guest profiles, warranting consideration in advance planning. Si Lom Thai Bistro offers a competent, earnest interpretation of Thai cuisine, executed by personnel who understand and respect the tradition. The experience appeals to those seeking sophisticated Thai dining executed with cultural literacy, though contextual factors merit thoughtful consideration.

I eat pad Thai in every city I visit and this may be the best yet since I first had pad Thai in college many many years ago. Been chasing that epic pad Thai for years and think I finally found it. Amazing depth of flavor. Partner got the Islamic noodles, which he thought were excellent as well, rich flavor and very well made. Would happily eat again. The only issue I had which made me knock off a star is that the glass and silverware had an odd scent, like the smell your glasses have if there's food stuck in your dishwasher filter -- if you know that scent you know what I mean. Just smelled funky and honestly the smell was ruining the taste (smell and taste are so closely linked) so I drank out of my own water bottle I had brought and grabbed a plastic fork to eat with which did solve the issue but still...less than ideal
