New date night spot just dropped! I have always thought the location next to the movie theater is such a great restaurant spot and yet so many have failed! Well KiKi's is here to stay!! I had the Sicilian necktie cocktail and it was perfectly balanced....so SMOOTH. The waygu beef carpaccio was incredibly fresh and full of flavor. The pepperoni pizza was out of this world! Normally I can't eat gluten without feeling like a bag of garbage but I digested this pizza just fine which tells me it's made with quality ingredients. Sorry I didn't get any pics but I will be going back to check out everything on the menu. The music was funky and I couldn't stop doing little shoulder shake dances. Cosmo and JR were incredible waitstaff! Super attentive and friendly without being overbearing. Yes I will be back! read more

I'm giving a five star review for effort, ambience and nice staff. And they're new and I realize they have to work some things out still. We read all the glowing reviews and couldn't wait to give it a try! We love pasta but rarely eat it due to the calories. But my partner and I have had a tough week and we decided to splurge; we both ordered the pasta bolognese. Being of Italian decent and having lived in Italy, I'd like to think I know my way around pasta- it's a hard dish to mess up! But after a long wait, our meals arrived- it didn't look like any bolognese I'd ever ordered before- it was brown. I took two bites, and never have I had such bad tasting pasta! It was like gooey and squishy at the same time if you could imagine- truthfully, I thought it might be gluten free or something! Not to be rude, but I don't think I've ever tasted pasta so bad, except for maybe Chef Boyardee! Neither one of us rarely ever send food back- I pushed my plate aside and wasn't going to say anything. However the owner maybe? Or someone higher up came by and asked how everything was! I kindly had to tell him that dish was not up to par. He sent a manager over who was very kind and removed it- he offered to bring something else- at this point I didn't really want anything- but he did bring over some meatballs and bread, which were delicious and amazing! He then brought gnocchi over, which was very kind of him- but it had another beefy brown sauce which was ok, but just not to my taste. I appreciated the gesture. The manager then asked later exactly what it was we didn't like about the bolognese- he admitted they were having trouble with their home made pasta recipe, and asked to kindly give them another chance to work it out- which we will. But I'd encourage them to buy their pasta noodles - there are plenty of great options out there- until they can figure out how to make it home made! Again, everyone was very nice, they comped the entrees without asking which we appreciated. And I do wish them the best! We will give it another try probably in a few months. Clearly others loved the place because it was very busy! We hope our second visit will be better. read more

Kiki’s - Menu - Cocktail Bars Near Me - La Quinta, California

We were so excited to try this Italian restaurant for its unique sauces and ingredients combined with traditional recipes. Loved what we saw on the on-line menu on yelp and their website: We couldn't wait to try the Bolognese pappardelle pasta, and the panicotti. The salad was exceptional, the bolognese arrived with rigatoni (purporting they did not have pappardelle), but the rigatoni was like it was old it just crumbled yet tough, then miraculously remade with pappardelle) the server tried to change my meat ball order, stating they had no bread with it, it would take 30 min... (glad I waited: the bread was exceptional) and meatballs tasty! Unfortunately, they had no panna Cotta for desert. A bit frustrating when they don't update the menus on line and in the restaurant. The server was great and it seemed he was not informed ahead of time before ordering when things weren't actually available. Heard the chef was not there and perhaps the kitchen likes to change recipes? . Hey "when the CAT is not there, the mice will play!" As far as ambiance, it was decorated cute but tables and chairs are a bit small and crammed for density. Sadly, the hostesses need to smile! Be less about their convenience and themselves because they set the FIRST impression of the business: Made a reservation for 2 at 4:45 to avoid any peak Sat dinner hours. Arrived and the hostess made it a point to let us know she was the owners wife (nice!) but she would not let us be seated side by side at a 4 top. Mind you, the restaurant was empty, and there must have been 30 4 tops open. We promised we would not stay all night and hold up a 4 top. She reluctantly let us sit, but worst of all she told us we only had an hour to eat. Although we ran over the hour limit we were not the only two-somes who wanted to sit less confined. We left around 6-6:15 after which more guests started arriving! BTW: Fri and Sat nights are open until 12 AM which is nice because most of our restaurants close at 9-10 in La Quinta! We wish Kiki success, we will revisit after consistency and kinks are worked out. It is only 6 weeks old and lots to learn about our valley! read more

The food is over price, menu is limited, not to expectation. Margarita pizza, had only two Basil leafs and no tomatoes which are the most important ingredients. The food was amazing . They cook like Italians . Authentic. I had the broccoli rabe, which you never find . Cooked like I do & my mom . My family born in Italy ., clams & linguine & clams tender& broth was so good & homemade pasta . We also had gnocchi which was light & tender. Gelato was good . Wine I had from Italy was so good . Incredible food and service! The best we have had in the Coachella Valley in a long time. Well worth the drive from Palm Springs.

Walked out after 15 minutes due to the noise level. There was a ladies event of about 50 women occupying the majority of the restaurant. We literally couldn't get service and it was so terribly loud that we could not hear each other so conversation was impossible. Can't say anything about the food as we never ordered. Wish we had been informed about the large party prior to driving to LaQuinta. read more

What a fabulous place! We sat in the bar and enjoyed a drink from their innovative cocktail menu. The meatball appetizer was off the chart! We sampled several pizzas and a pasta they all were delicious! The staff was very attentive and on spot! The beautiful decor reminded me of old Palm Springs and we loved all the art on the walls. Well it was highly recommended by my son and he convinced us to give it a try. We had reservations and were seated right away about 6:30. The place was packed and we looked forward to the meal. We ordered carbonara for my wife and spaghetti with meat balls for me. Additionally my son had told us about a vegetable dish called sun chokes and so we ordered that also. No wine, just water. After about a half hour they brought out our sun chokes and said the rest would be out soon. We nibbled on the sunchokes like an appetizer. Forty five minutes later we were getting exasperated about the delay. The waitress said she was "well aware" of the delay and they were working to correct the screwup. About five other tables had come in after us and had their food delivered in a timely manner. At 8:00 they brought out our plates. My wife took one bite of her carbonara and spit it out. The pasta was not cooked and it tasted like an entire box of salt had been added to her dish. My spaghetti was plane Jane and the meatballs were cold. Even though they said they would comp our meal the food and the experience was so bad that we just walked out. BTW if you want real Italian good food go to Mimmos Italian Restaurant in Palm Desert on Highway 111. Don't buy into the hype of Kiki's. read more

From the moment we walked in the door and we sat down the upselling began "Tap water, Pellegrino, or bottled water?" The menu was limited, and our first question was "can we get a half and half pizza" NO!!! OK so we decided to split a pizza. We told the pretentious waitress that we would start with a pizza and if we were still hungry, we would order something else later. We asked if she would leave the menu for us so we could decide later. She insisted that one pizza would not be enough and she started to review the menu again. She told us that the "kitchen" would get "upset" if we placed an additional order later. Thats when I told he that It was not my concern if the "kitchen was upset"! That's when we decided to leave with out ordering anything. The upselling and the waitress's insistence on ordering more than we wanted can definitely be off-putting. It's important for restaurants to respect their customers' preferences and choices. I would have liked to try their food, but we will have to leave that to future reviewer, but not us! read more

We went to Kiki's for Happy Hour. The restaurant is nicely decorated and our server was pleasant. We shared the Caesar salad which was a good portion and tasty. Our pizzas were hot but not a fan of the thick crust. The drinks, a martini and a glass of wine, were served in odd glassware. Our bill, over $100, felt overpriced. read more

My wife and I ate at Kiki's about three weeks ago. On that occasion, we found the food and service good, but the portions very small. My wife ate there a second time several days ago with a friend. She and her companion initially wanted to order linguini and clams, but they were out of clams, providing that information only after my wife and her friend tried to order the dish...seems like that information should have been disclosed during an earlier conversation with the waitperson or, better yet, at the time they were seated. My wife ended up ordering barramundi, which came in a very small portion and with no side. It was reportedly delicious, but my wife, not a big eater, left hungry, even though they ordered bread (cost: $5). Additionally, they waited "at least" twenty or twenty five minutes to get their meal. Kiki's has a great deal of potential, but to reach that potential they are going to have to improve their communication, their service and, importantly, their paltry serving sizes. read more

In all my day fancy restaurant's or not there was never a fish .the bartender removed it but when eating a few bites i was worried i was gonna find another fish ..I think they should warn you . . We came in and it was our first time. We had Cosmo as a server and Reuben as our busser. They were amazing! The service here is an 11/10. I worked in the restaurant industry for over 10 years and it blew me away. The food was amazing. We had the sausage and onion pizza and the rigatoni. Delicious! The ambiance was great. Their pizza for 20 plus dollars is the size of a dinner plate, the toppings are the size of a coffee cup saucer. Terrible wine list, 90 dollars for a 20 dollar bottle of wine . Service is hip and personal. Was ridiculous expensive for what you got. They told us no dinner menu till 4;00 pm, then they said 4:30 one of us wanted the dinner menu. He ordered bolnese sauce, wasn't even close, not red for example. If you go there, ask lots of questions. You won't get what you think. Beautiful space! It feels like a gallery/Italian cafe. The pesto pasta was amazing. The salad was amazing. The pizza was so good. A pizza that the valley is actually missing. Light and bubbly crust instead of heavy dough. The carpaccio needed a little acid but my husband enjoyed it. They lost my ressie but found a spot for four of us. This was our 1st time at Kiki's for a date night, for my wife and I. I was told about this place from my coworker and I read the reviews online that recommended making a reservation so I did. When I arrived, there was hardly anyone there, but after we showed up the place started getting filled up, so I'm glad I made a reservation. We started with a small appetizer with focaccia bread and oil and a couple of glasses of wine while we waited for our pizzas, she ordered, the pepperoni pizza, which was amazing and I ordered the meatatarian pizza, which also was amazing along with a Caesar salad. It took a little while, but it was worth the wait because you can taste the difference in the homemade dough which was amazing, beautifully thin crust with puffy edges. I wish it was a little bit warmer so we could sit outside by the water feature, and the beautiful mountain views, we're not too big on pasta but they have plenty of great Italian pasta options. The art and decor and even the fake trees inside we thought we're very nice touch. Our server Holly was amazing as well and always checking on us and making sure we had what we needed. My boyfriend and I came here last night for an early dinner and had such a lovely time. We sat at the bar and were so beyond engaged by our bartender. He was so friendly and welcoming! We had heard this restaurant was a new addition to La Quinta and since we're visiting, we had to try since we are Italian food lovers. They definitely have the modern twist on an old school Italian vibe, which is A+. We had such a filling and delicious meal made even better by the atmosphere and friendliness and helpfulness of our bartender. It was a bit on the pricey side, but definitely worth it! It is an excellent restaurant for a date night or special occasion for sure. They also have outdoor seating if that's more your jam, but the real magic happens inside. read more

Last night I came to eat because I've heard good things about this place. We were sat at the bar and noticed that the patio was completely empty so we asked if we could be accommodated outside. The waitress said yes so we were moved outside and once we were seated and about to order the hostess notified us that we had less then an hour to order and eat and leave due to there being prior reservations at the patio. I was thrown back because if we didn't have the time to sit there they should have let us know before hand and I would have stayed at the bar area. They didn't even offer to move us again just that we needed to hurry and leave. What upset me the most is that they were very mean about the situation and I'm more then understanding but there wasn't any need for the rude nature of the situation. Then one of the owners named Sofia came out and told us the same exact thing in a very rude and condescending way which made me feel very uncomfortable. She was very aggressive and in the end my significant other and I chose to leave. I unfortunately will not be returning. read more
