The service is always amazing, every encounter I have had with a employee has been an amazing one! Everyone should come if they are in the area, I highly recommend. There are so many food and drink options!

I drove by this place so many times finally decided to try it out. The service is great. The food was ok and I say that because to me didn't seem like it was fresh. The tuna pieces had lots of vain and not enough rice at the bottom. The edamame was dry like it was microwaved. My favorite thing to eat is sushi is the cooked ill hand roll and that really wasn't good too fatty and I couldn't bite into the seaweed roll. It's too stretchy.

Food was good quality. We ordered two dishes--a Dynamite roll and black cod miso--for two people and it was enough food. The black cod was a little two sweet. It tasted more like a Korean-Japanese fusion dish and not really authentically Japanese. The Kabocha--Japanese squash--that came with it was fresh and delicious. It also came with a salad and miso soup; both good. The dynamite sushi roll was spicy as specified. Next time, I'll try something else. They allow you to bring your own drink and there's no corkage fee. That saves a little money.

I've been coming here on and off for years, and the fish is consistently fresh. One of my go-to orders is the kaisen futo-maki, a 5-piece roll packed with an assortment of raw fish. It's simple, clean, slightly on the pricier side, but worth it in my opinion. The staff have always been friendly, though there typically only seems to be one or two sushi chefs working. During peak hours, that can mean a bit of a wait for your food, so I recommend avoiding the lunch or dinner rush whenever possible.

Heard about this place on check please and it didn't disappoint. They close between 3pm-5pm. We got there at 2:30pm and they still sat us and didn't rush us at all. Our server was very welcoming and friendly, and checked on us regularly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was relatively quiet, only one other table, but it gave a family restaurant vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The lunch specials were a great deal. The quantity of the sashimi at that price was a deal and the quality was great. The miso black cod was also very tasty, one of the better I've had. They also have a lot of vegan options on the menu.

Kiku is such a delight every time. The fish is always so fresh and tender, and the flavor is great! We've gone a million times and there's never a dip in quality. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The service is awesome and it's such a nice space![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This time, I got the miso black cod lunch bento, and it was delicious! (Obviously.) The cod was so meaty and had a nice miso flavor. The sushi was half California roll and half Dynamite, both great! The meal came with so much food which was an added bonus! I highly recommend popping in midday for the lunch special pricing, it's really a great deal for great food.

It appears to be popular with families as well. It was a Friday evening after 9pm, kind of late for us to eat very much but I needed something so we popped in. It was quiet, maybe three or four other tables. Our food server was patient as I looked over the fairly large menu. Ended up with some of my current faves: hamachi nigiri, California roll, yam roll, and salmon skin roll. Everything was thoughtful, well prepared, and delicious. It was just enough food and I was good for the night. On our second visit, my hubby and I brought my dad for lunch to celebrate his 88th birthday. It was pouring rain outside but we were fortunate to get parking right outside the door. We ended up sitting by the window which was the same table we sat at during our first visit. We ordered gyoza (6) for the table. We all ordered bento. Dad had the beef short ribs and California roll, hubby had the Vegetable tempura and California roll, I had the Saba shiyoyaki and hamachi sashimi. All three came with miso soup and salad. Everything was delicious. My fish was well seasoned and moist, dad's beef short ribs were tender, hubby's tempura was light and crisp. Lunch was very reasonably priced for all we ordered. I am definitely a fan of this place and look forward to dining here again.

We each got a handroll set and it was enough with the 4 rolls along with an appetizer for 3 of us to feel full. The SHUNGIKU KAKIAGE appetizer was delicious. Very nice with light batter and flavor. We enjoyed this a lot. Each roll was fresh and had a good amount of meat in it. The home made soy sauce was also delicious and had very interesting umami flavor. Our waitress was friendly and it wasn't very busy but for some reason she didn't notice to fill our water jug for a while. She was very good at clearing dishes. I see a lot of people ordering maybe 3-4 handrolls and sharing appetizers but I mainly focus on the handrolls. These handrolls are on average 2-3 bites for me, 2 would be a big bite. There is no discount if you order from a set so order the sets only if you truly want every item in the list. If you come for lunch, take a look at their lunch sets because it comes out to only a couple dollars more and you get cucumber and edamame as an appetizer which is enough to share amongst two people. I love that they make the sushi rice vinegary here. I enjoy most of the items that I normally would like, there isn't a bad one except sometimes the black garlic aioli on the seared albacore tastes a bit fatty to me. Otherwise everything I order from my pictures are always fresh and good. One thing I noticed for the snow crab and chives is that they do not use mayo here compared to their Oakland location. I loved the ocean trout I had in early May and sad to see it gone by the end of May, it was sweet and fresh. Hope it comes back soon, @manager, let me know! lol thanks P.S. I do have a suggestion about the timing that food comes out, one time I was there for lunch and our table specifically had large gaps between the rolls coming out. I'm talking about 15 minutes before the next set comes out while other tables get multiple things in the meantime. After 45 min, I finally said something and the staff was able to get everything else out in 5 min so the kitchen was not backed up, she said it was some kind of timer the chef sets and maybe something was wrong there. I had brought a friend so I felt really bad for him to have a bad experience with the wait time but other than that the food was great.
