Not a raw fish fan but always enjoy my visits. Love their baked green muscle, Diana rolls, vegetables tempura rolls. Yum !

Decided to try a new sushi restaurant in the Monrovia area! Kiku Sushi is a little hole in the wall that I would definitely recommend. I will say that they have quite a big menu and it was hard to select food, but it does give you a lot of options! I got the dinner combination with sashimi, the Philadelphia roll, and spicy tuna roll. My fiancé got a variety of sushi as well. It's funny because he rates sushi restaurants depending on how good their salmon and tuna are. He really loved the salmon but he found the tuna was just "okay" In my opinion, the sushi is good, but it's not the greatest. It doesn't have that "melt in your mouth" factor that I look for in sushi restaurants but it's also not bad at the same time. The servers though were very attentive and I didn't have to get their attention at all. Also we got our food very quickly which was nice! I'd come back if I was in the area but I wouldn't go out of my way to make the extra drive.

Salmon skin salad

I love Kiku Sushi! My favorite is the salmon skin salad. Their takoyaki is also delicious. A solid spot if you want Japanese food. Their lunch and dinner combos are a great option as well. Usually get seated right away too.

Very peaceful, calm atmosphere food very fresh and a vast menu and of course the chef is willing to accommodate most requests. I enjoyed my time here and I would come back again. Staff very attentive as well. It's just a fun little place with fun music and good food.

My favorite bento spot I come here at least once a week !!! It's not all you can eat but it hits the spot and is satisfying. Has everything I want in a Japanese restaurant .

I really wanted to like this spot because I live right up the street and sushi is my favorite food but I honestly just wasn't impressed. The sushi was very dry on both rolls, and it wasn't super fresh I felt. The lady who served us as well wasn't the nicest so it just made want to pack our stuff and leave sooner. I don't think I'll return any time soon but happy I got to try it out.

Baked mussels and lunch special was nice. Lots of items to choose from for the 2 or 3 item lunch

This gem is nestled in the Kohls/Trader Joe's shopping center right off the 210 fwy at Huntington Drive. You'd miss it if you drove by...so don't miss it! Great service. Very friendly atmosphere. The green tea is perfectly steeped and comes in a very large tea mug. You get a free refill too! Started with the BEST miso soup I've had. I know--miso is miso is miso, right? Wrong! The flavor and consistency of the broth bring a Mmmmm to your mouth! The sushi came out quick and tasted so fresh. Definitely try the cilantro roll with jalapeño. It has just enough kick to know it's in there, but doesn't overwhelm the roll so you can enjoy all the other flavors. It's a quaint spot so depending on the time of day you might have to wait a bit. There's also a sushi bar with ample seating if that's what you prefer. No matter where you sit, every seat is the best in the house! Enjoy.

Kiku has been a solid and dependable restaurant for my family for over a decade! Our family always takes visiting friends/relatives here for good quality and enjoyable grub. The dinner/lunch combo is the best deal here, recommend their short ribs, salmon shioyaki, and any of their rolls.

Starters for the win. Wow the salad dressing is so good . Love this place!!

It was a good thing we did since seating was limited and boy did it fill up for dinner quick. We went for Friday dinner, a service charge is added for party of 6 or more, they opened at 5pm so people were lined up before then, and it wasn't very cold inside but felt fine. They have dinner sets with hot foods in addition to sushi sets, I ordered the grilled chicken to share with my son and also an assorted tempura. The rest ordered 18 pieces of Negitoro Rolls, Deluxe sushi dinner, and Traditional Edomae Style Sushi Dinner. We also got water and one can of Diet Coke. They also served some pickled dishes and salad (but chicken dinner had salad so I didn't get it yet), and we really enjoyed the dressing. The small dishes were good, I think it goes even better with our meals but I ate them before the meal came. My dish had grilled chicken and salad with a bowl of rice. It wasn't what I expected but there's plenty of chicken which I shared with my son and he ate a lot! The others had really good dishes, they looked fresh and they said it was delicious. Overall, nice dinner, very elegant in a way that I think it's also a nice treat here and there for the price. Parking was plenty but can be packed for dinner time around 6, you can still park around the bank.

I've had this place bookmarked a while so it was the perfect time to try it. It was not so busy for a Tuesday night. There is plenty of seating, bar seating and the place looked super clean. I wasn't sure what the special dishes were so I ordered the Premium Blue Fin Tuna and Negitoro Bowl, Premium Chirashi Dinner and an order of halibut and salmon. Our favorites was the Blue Fin Tuna and Negitoro Bowl. The tuna paired with the rice as soooo good. I was in absolute heaven. I love tuna and negitoro and this dish did not disappoint! The Chirashi dinner was decent. It had a little of everything which was nice. The fish were not too thick which was nice and the rice was flavorful. The dinners both came with a salad and miso soup which were both pretty good starters. The halbut and salmon nigiri pieces were also really good. :) Overall, the vibes inside were nice and the service was great. Parking is easy since there is a big lot out front and this place is tucked away in a plaza. I will definitely be back :) ALSO, I thought the prices were quite decent for the quality of the food!!

When I got to the lot, it took me a few minutes to locate the restaurant because the name sign was super low-key. The restaurant is pretty small but feels cozy. My colleague already ordered before I got there so I just ate whatever they put on the table! The only one I didn't like as much was the beef? It was too salty for my taste. Restaurant is located in a small strip mall, with a fair amount of parking. There isn't a flashy restaurant sign in front of the building, and once you step in, it truly feels like you are in a small, homey Izikaya in Japan. The restaurant only has a few booths, a few tables and bar seating inside, so reservations are highly recommended on a busy Saturday night. My boyfriend and I got lucky that they were able to accommodate us within 10 minutes, because there was seating available at the bar. There is a physical Drink menu (sake, beer, etc.) and the food menu can be viewed by scanning a QR code with your phone. The waitress made suggestions about which dishes she personally liked & we ordered whatever she suggested, along with some of the things we thought looked good. *7/10 Toro w/ seaweed *8/10 Moriwase (chef's selection of sashimi) 2 each of 5 different sashimi. There was one cut I did not particularly care for. *7/10 chicken wings *10/10 Beef tongue-- Tender, but firm. Delicious, a must try! *10/10 Ankimo-- creamy and paired well with the ponzu and fresh seaweed *10/10 Fried Seabass-- they served the entire fish, which is rare. *10/10 Sous-vide Duck breast-- must try! *10/10 Nikomi stew--simple, but delicious! *10/10 Matcha Oolong Panna Cotta-- subtly sweet with a smooth texture. It was so good, that we ordered two! The only reason that I only gave it a four out of five stars is because the service was slow. All of our dishes, came out in time, but no drink refills were given and the server never came back to collect our check for payment. So we had to walk it up to them ourselves. For a small space, with three servers, it shouldn't be hard to attend to all the customers. The menu can be pricey, but food is delicious! Along with exceptional service, eating here is worth it.

The store offers an impressive selection of Japanese goodies, including ramen, condiments, fresh sashimi, and a wide variety of sushi rolls. There are so many options and combinations to choose from. If you are looking for sashimi, head to the back of the store where they have conveniently packaged fish sold by the pound, and they will happily slice it for you. Or, if you are in a hurry, you can grab their freshly made sushi rolls from the refrigerators. On my visit, I picked up ahi tuna, toro, salmon, and yellowtail sashimi, along with California rolls, tuna rolls, and salmon rolls. Every piece of fish was incredibly fresh with a buttery texture and amazing flavor. The quality of the fish and the perfectly seasoned sushi rice were so good that I barely needed any soy sauce or wasabi.
