We just moved to the area a few months ago and we have been sampling the area taverns here and there. Killarney's has quickly become our favorite place to stop in for a beer or two and enjoy a couple of appetizers. Also, this restaurant is at 100% capacity for Covid and definitely not at the government mandate of 50%. Lastly, just ordered Irish Bread Pudding for dessert. Guess what? They are out of that too. Living in the area, I've been here a few times. The food is decent, they offer brunch on Sundays, and their specials are a pretty good value, and some come with free desserts. However, their desserts are underwhelming to say the least (especially the apple pie. Do not get the apple pie). They have a nice patio if you want to eat outside, and live music occasionally (you probably won't really be able to hear each other talk if you go one of those days though). read more

I went on a date and we decided to have a late lunch/ early dinner at Killarney's. When we arrived the pub was empty aside from a few scattered tables near the bar. I had never been to Killarney's even though I had watched it come up years and years ago and witness their parking lot fill up to capacity every thursday and friday night. My date told me that their food is pretty good and it's nice but that sometimes their food is a big hit or miss. Our waitress was extremely friendly and sweet and worked her butt off so I was compelled to leave her a $30 tip. About 20 minutes into our date, a large party for some charity trickled in and immediately filled up the tiny space with a lot of noise (bag pipes and singing and just chatter). We went from having a nice and quiet meal with decent conversation into just staring at the festivities and trying to talk over loudspeakers. Don't order their mixed drinks, they are kind of expensive and watered down. They have a decent beer selection. Despite how crowded he pub got our waitress never looked overly flustered and never disappeared and left us unattended and in need. I ordered the Shrimp platter and it was delicious even though the buffalo shrimp was slightly overcooked. It consisted of Buffalo Shrimp, Coconut Shrimp, Beer battered shrimp and shoestring potato wrapped shrimp. Ask for a lot of the sweet and sour sauce they give you. I don't know if I will be going back as I don't really think their menu suits me or that the establishment is really my vibe but I would recommend to anyone who likes Pseudo- Irish pubs. read more

Today was the first time I ever ate at this place with my friend from NYC. Of course it was outside. The only complaint is it took SO SO long to get anything. Ice, another drink, anything but the Food was GREAT. That is the most important. My friend said her French Onion soup was the best. Killarney's Publick House has a cozy, friendly vibe that will remind you of your favorite gathering place from your hometown, college days or favorite vacation spot. The staff are very friendly, attentive and provide suggestions- which is so appreciated over the "everything is good" canned answers one usually receives. I think that is because the menus (both food and drink) offer a lot of choice despite maintaining the 'pub food' theme, and they don't disappoint. What a great place to consider for your next party! My father and I had a surprise birthday party for my mother last weekend and we couldn't be more pleased with our choice to have the party at Killarney's. The catering manager worked with us to plan a menu that all our guests enjoyed. The food was delicious, the staff was friendly, professional and they did a great job from start to finish. The tables were all set when we arrived to decorate and anything else we needed was offered and quickly provided. Our server Courtney did a great job coordinating drink orders and serving each course to each of the 27 people at our event. Thank you for making this party a huge success for our family. This place has a genuine pub atmosphere and a large menu that I would imagine caters to most diners. They even have small portioned options for those with mini appetites. The bar is your standard, I'm a drinker and motivated by alcohol choices. Typical NJ atmosphere and attitude in here. A lot of sloppy girls and their bratty kids running around the dinning area. I had to keep grabbing my beer because these people had their kids pushing each other right in front of our table. I'm only so fast it was a matter of time before the parents were about to buy me another beer and get a slap in the face. Decided to move outside which is much better- people were more relaxed and not so many bratty rug rats screaming. The food was alright standard jersey bar food. Our waitress was great, but the manager was a real A-hole to the staff right in front of me and my buddy. Drinks were good and strong. This place is a confusion. The service depends on the day of the week, and I need consistency to recommend a place. During the week it's not so bad. The place has a nice amount of people in it, and okay service. Food is just typical bar food, nothing is good, just stuff to soak up the booze. On the weekends I'd rather sit home then go there. It gets uncomfortably packed with no where to sit, and the service is horrible! I had a table with some friends and still waited an hour just to get our drinks ordered. The waitresses and bartenders do not work in a timely fashion at all. If you want to go after work for a happy hour or a night during the week, it's just a regular pub, cool place, but the weekends are just ridiculous, definitly not worth my time. read more

The food at Killarney's is outstanding the shepherd's pie is the best that I have ever tasted. The service is outstanding.

It's supposed to be an Irish pub and thats just what it is. Its pub fare, a few items of which are very Irish. The beer selection is sparse but is sure to include some stout and red. We were a party of two and had our sides mixed up by the waitress, but to make it up to us she gave us a free coors t-shirt and cap, so I bumped them up from a 3 to a 4 star. read more

We went there for dinner tonight. Decent food and service. The band was good. Our bill was over$200 which was fine EXCEPT it had the subtotal, then "cc surcharge" although we had cash on the table, THEN tax on THAT total and the grand total. So, I'm not entirely offended by the cc surcharge, if we were paying with a credit card, I get it (although that shouldn't be assumed) but to then tax on that total is unethical and presumptuous. I own 2 businesses and I understand the extra charge for cc fees (even though I don't charge more) but, this was wrong. I mentioned it to the host who didn't know. "I'll have to get the manager" I said ok and waited. Our server came over and I relayed the situation and how messed up that is and that I was waiting for the manager (it wasn't his fault and I worked in restaurants for years so I'm very sympathetic). Manager never came. Buyer beware. No one else at my table even knew what it was so I'm sure many have been swindled. Couldn't even subtract the charge since the tax was on it so the whole total was wrong. Not cool. read more

I am definitely a fan, it's a popular place, reasonably priced and the food is pretty good too. I've always had friendly service whenever I've gone here. From what I have witnessed it's a great place to watch football on Sundays. We took the kids for dinner and they gave it the thumbs up. Their kids' placemats have interesting facts about NJ on them-which I personally liked. And the owner is very active in the community which is very refreshing to see. My husband and I went over the weekend and watched the games. It was packed and was worried our food would take awhile to come out. But we didn't wait long.
