Not sure why this place has bad reviews, but this is the second time we've been here and I loved it both times. We ordered pulled pork, sausage, brisket, coleslaw and Mac and cheese. All the meats were juicy and flavorful! The Mac and cheese was incredible! None of us liked the coleslaw Great place for BBQ

Walked over from the boutique behind, while waiting for my items to be purchased. Stop in and grab a brisket nachos. Which was delicious. I ordered to go and I will definitely get this again. The chips were hot and crispy. Nice warm cheese with extra lean brisket with the topping on the side was a hit!

Killen's Barbecue is easily some of the best BBQ I've had in Houston! The brisket was incredibly moist -- the melt-in-your-mouth kind that makes you stop mid-conversation just to appreciate it. Everything was flavorful, tender, and cooked to perfection. The vibes and ambiance were great too -- relaxed, welcoming, and exactly what you want from a Texas BBQ spot. The servers were a bit preoccupied chatting among themselves at times, but they still made sure we had everything we needed, so no complaints there. If you're looking for top-tier barbecue in Houston, Killen's definitely delivers. I'll be back!

I'm a sucker for BBQ and Killen's has done it again! I've tried their Pearland location and to be honest, it's a bit better than this Cypress one. BUT that doesn't meant this Cypress location doesn't deserve 5 stars! The brisket was so moist and tender, the pork belly burnt ends were sweet yet soft, and don't even get me started on the creamed corn! I'm highly lactose intolerant but I get the creamed corn all the time! The service was phenomenal! There was one lady who constantly kept checking on us. Everyone was pleasant and hospitable. The location itself is so close to many stores, the outlet mall included, so it's nice to be able to hang out there after a long day of shopping! It was clean, spacious, and a good time.

Killen's really let me down this time and the visit prior to yesterday. This is why I had to leave this review! I'd have to give an F for order accuracy and a D for portion size and presentation. After repeating the order 3 times, they still didn't prepare it correctly. The loaded potato I received looked like something that was thrown together with very little care. There was hardly any meat on it, and the potato itself was on the small side. Honestly, the way it was prepared made me feel like I had somehow upset someone in the kitchen. After spending over $70 for two potatoes and a three meat plate, I walked away feeling completely ripped off. That's extremely disappointing considering I grind hard for my money. You all have to do better. Please pass this message and the photos along to management and the kitchen staff, because this experience was wayyyyyyy below expectations.

Let's start with how much I like Killens bbq. I've been going to the Pearland restaurant for years. Love it! I was on the northwest side of town, and decided to go to the Cypress location. What a mistake. Got pulled pork tacos. I've had them before at Pearland and the Woodlands locations. They looked beautiful. The coleslaw on top of them was sickenly sweet. No balance of flavors. The sweet overwhelmed any Smokey flavor. And the box was soupy and soggy. My tortillas were dripping wet. My mother's pulled pork sandwich with coleslaw was almost equally soggy. Total disappointment. I ordered the food online and showed up when I got the text that the order was ready. I still had to wait for about 8 minutes. The young woman at the drive- thru was very attentive and polite.

Lunch today was great! They have a wide selection of meat including chicken, brisket, and pork. Today we ordered the Fried Chicken platter that comes with 2 sides. The chicken portion was large and can easily be shared with another person. This does take 10-15 mins to fry so there is a wait. It was a little greasy but it was really fresh out of the fryer. Brisket nachos was huge and definitely everything was shareable. Smoked bbq chicken platter was another huge portion and should be shared as well. Everything was fresh and delicious. It wasn't too crowded and wasn't noisy at all. Great family place for lunch or dinner. Everything was reasonably priced. Fried chicken platter was $22, Smoked chicken platter was $19 and Brisket Nachos was $13.

I'm giving 3 star because the service was very well. We got a nice greeting and help with placing the order. Also, everything was clean inside. They have booths and tables on one side and bar with high tables that's a nice set up. Now on to the food. I got worked ribs, mac and cheese and collared greens. The ribs were way less than I expected. The rub is a very untasteful flavor. Once I took the first bit and didn't like the rub flavor, I actually just rubbed it off and ate the rib. The Mac and cheese is ok, it's a bit juicy and the collard greens has too much of a vinegar taste. I tasted the coffee bbq sauce and it's actually good, it doesn't have a heavy deep coffee taste. My friend goes to the location in Pearland often and I tried this location since I was in this area that day. I guess there is a difference with the taste of food. I will try the one in Pearland to know the difference.

Amazing service, amazing food! 10/10 I can't wait to be in Texas again to come here. One of my friends had accidentally dropped his full plate of food right as they passed it over and the staff immediately jumped on it & cleaned it all up and gave him a fresh new plate. The place was super clean & tidy.

The moist brisket was really good and I enjoyed sampling the three different types of barbecue sauce. Surprisingly the coffee barbecue sauce was our favorite. All of them were good but the coffee barbecue sauce was the best. Friendly polite service at the restaurant. It was kind of surprising that there were not many people in the restaurant for lunch but perhaps due to the price not as many people are going.$23 for a single meat plate and iced tea was a little steep but it's good food. The atmosphere is Texan but not over the top just minorly Texan, so this really isn't a tourist location rather a place for regular people in Texas without going to over the top in decoration.

Per our server's recommendation, we tried the skillet brisket queso and that did not disappoint! It was really good - I just wish there were jalapeños to really give it a nice kick, but we enjoyed it. I ordered the brisket plate with macaroni & cheese and potato salad; got it with all the fixings: pickles, onions, and pickled jalapeños. The brisket is more fatty than what I've had before but I didn't hate it - I wish it had a bit more flavor. The star was their homemade BBQ sauce - absolutely delicious! The potato salad also was a tiny bit bland but I loved the onions and relish in it. Macaroni and cheese was alright! I had also ordered a coke zero and that came in a giant red cup which I appreciated. Our server slowly stopped checking on us after our food came out. It was a while before we could ask for a to-go box, our check, and even refill. That was unfortunate since I did want w refill but our server just never came. Overall, I would go back for sure for another lunch break and try their other menu items because the food was pretty good. They have a ton of stuff!

Now for the not so great- went to PCs to see some live music and have dinner with friends. I ordered the 2 meat plate with turkey, ribs, potato salad and green beans. The first plate I was brought was cold, so had it remade. They turkey was okay but a bit salty, the ribs were rubbery and definitely not fall off the bone tender. I did not finish either item. The potato salad was not fresh made and tasted like / had the texture of prepackaged potato salad. The green beans were canned as well. Another person ordered the burger and it was not freshly made, but likely a frozen patty. Someone else had a side of Mac and cheese and it had no flavor. Go for the drinks and music, but given the wide range of disappointment in the food, eat before you go.

I think their bbq chicken is among the best. Yup, I'm saying it and I don't give a damn who says different. My wife and I decided to eat at Spring Creek on 290 because she had a teacher appreciation coupon. I had the 3 meat combination with Lean Brisket, dark meat chicken, and St. Louis style ribs. My sides were beans and green beans. My wife had a baked potato fully loaded no meat. Today the ribs were really good. They were firm yet tender, didn't push back on the bite through but nothing stuck on the bone. The chicken was good, but it's been better. The brisket was lean and pretty good. Honestly usually get marbled brisket because I like the fatty pieces. My wife's baked potato was great, the cheese was fresh and the sour cream kicking! After doing my research and seeing food bloggers post online about this place, I decided to try it! We went on a Saturday afternoon at 2 pm - packed! There were no tables available inside and there were people inside and outside waiting for their orders. That's something to be ready for if you come on a Saturday. Our order didn't actually take that long. Or maybe it took a little while and we didn't mind waiting. Either way, it wasn't that bad! Luckily it's located in a shopping area so there's always parking. My main gripe is that they close at 7pm. I'm sure there's a good reason for that but I've wanted to try it multiple times before but they've been closed! I ended up going with the infamous brisket and fried rice. The brisket was super tender - I was able to pull it apart with my fork. I typically shy away from brisket because usually it's tough. But this was delicious - tender and had a nice smoky flavor. Not overwhelming or too salty. The rice had a great flavor too. There were chunks of meat in that as well and the rice had a nice smoky flavor. Not too salty or greasy. It also came with some accoutrements - pickled onions, fresh pickled cucumbers, jalapeños, bbq sauce and bread. The cucumbers and onions stole the show - very fresh and refreshing. We were surprised at the pickled onions - they were soo good! Overall - worth the hype! I'll definitely be back to try ribs, chicken or pulled pork sandwich. I heard everything is good here!!

They do have a spacious outdoor patio; but being almost 100 degrees outside it was not worth my sweat dripping down to the brisket making it saltier. Almost have to wait around and time it, until the next freed up seating is available. Don't recommend to bring young kids or large groups. If I was an angel investor, my money would go to them to expand to a larger location! Pains me to see large chain restaurants be able to afford such a large buildings and serve mediocre food. I decided to order their burger special, that comes with a brisket inside. I also got their Mac and cheese. So I thought my burger was below par. It tasted frozen and it was dry. They only gave me a half slice of brisket and that was dry as well. The only thing that I enjoyed was the sauce & the bacon. Other than that it wasn't worth a 25 dollar burger. It was ridiculous that it didn't even come with a side and you had to order that separately. If I'm making you a 25 dollar burger, I'll make sure that I make my patties in-house & on a brioche bun. The Mac and cheese were meh. It was clumpy & there was an odd color on it as well. It was also smoky which is fine but it had a charcoal taste to it. I honestly didn't even finish it. I was going to order some brisket to go but seeing as how underwhelming my meal was I decided to just skip on that. The owner did come out to greet us along with his flask which I thought was unprofessional. I also smelled alcohol breath when he was speaking well.
