Steaks were all cold. We waited a long time in between appetizers and the main course and all of the steaks were cold. We had been waiting so long we just ate some of the steak and left. The server was nice and just said they got really busy with big groups but no excuses when it is an expensive restaurant like this. Will not be back. read more

First time trying Killens Steakhouse and did not disappoint. Our server was amazing and made sure our experience was personable. The ambiance was nice. We were seated quickly and had a reservation. They also offer complimentary valet parking. Parking was easy too. I got the snapper and was recommended to add the fried shrimp. Plenty of crab over the snapper and the shrimp pieces were large. Side dishes we chose were mashed potatoes and Macaroni. I must say the macaroni was phenomenal. For dessert we had the crème brûlée cheesecake and wow it was so good. We went there for dinner on a Saturday night and it was not busy. The food, we got a lemon drop martini which was very well made and delicious, and then started with the jumbo crab cake appetizer. Just perfect for the 2 of us. I was in love and could just eat that for lunch for the rest of my life. For the main entree I got the rosewood waygu filet mignon and my friend got the rosewood waygu ribeye steak - both cooked medium rare. Mine was very yummy but also extremely salty, so if you're not a fan of salt, do not order this steak. Luckily I am and I devoured it. My best friend loved her steak too, but I didn't try it. Our sides were the potatoes au gratin (I liked them but she said they were kinda plain bc she could taste the potatoes lol) and lobster Mac and cheese (I don't care for lobster but I actually really liked these). We didn't order desert bc our waiter disappeared for like 20-30 minutes at the end of our meal. Service - they try to upsell you on everything, don't be afraid to say no. I was kinda frustrated bc our waiter kept explaining things to us we already know and double questioning us (temp of steak, choice of drink, etc), and then he disappeared? You will get water filled by the guy filling it, who is covered in sweat and you'll see him working and never sitting, carrying the water everywhere. Two hostesses gaze down upon the tables like overlords (or vultures) even when they have no tables to seat. Overall it's a very odd dynamic. The restaurant - looks like a regular older restaurant, you wouldn't have guessed it to be the expensive place it is by peeking inside. Normal tables and chairs, flooring/carpet looks old and in need of a cleaning. And the decor/ambiance was probably all the rave in the 90s but idk if the owner knows that was 30+ years ago? 3.5 stars. I thought the apps are a hit or miss. The lobster bisque was very salty but some might prefer it. It was too much for me that it made me thirsty. The crab cake was a hit. The duck was very rare but again that might be preference. The only recommendation is the dry age steak. The flavor was intensified with the dry aging process. We went here to celebrate the wife's birthday recently. The wife ordered the jumbo shrimp cocktail starter. This was probably our favorite dish of the night. We each had a round of sparkling wine and an old fashion. For the mains, she got the filet mignon and I ordered the dry aged NY strip. We both agreed that although the steaks were decent... we've had significantly better elsewhere. The dry aged NY strip lacked the typical nutty dry aged flavor and the filet mignon was not as tender as it should be. Sadly, both steaks were also overcooked. We had the sautéed mushrooms and asparagus as sides. The highlight of the meal for me was the Killen's old fashion - it was quite tasty. For dessert, we ordered some ice cream and the macaroon/truffles. The macaroons were overly sweetened, stale, and crumbly. Service for this establishment was decent. However, on our reservation I specified that it was the wife's birthday and essentially nothing was done extra to help us celebrate. I had to mention it towards the middle of the meal that it was her birthday and they added a "happy birthday" and candle to a dessert that we ordered and paid for. It would have been nice to offer guests something to help celebrate special occasions. With the amount spent on dinner, a complementary glass of wine, birthday card, or small dessert would have been a nice touch. We've noticed that most other steakhouses around the Houston area offer this to guests. Unfortunately, with so many other steakhouse options, we likely won't be returning here. read more

My husband and I love going here to treat ourselves or for special occasions. It's always a great experience to say the least. Waiters are consistent and knowledgeable. Food is always delicious. Ambiance: very nice setup, bar area is inviting. there's an upper and lower level dining space with an open kitchen. the setting is very pleasant. the bad: no ac in the bar area and you feel it walking in but after a few drinks you really feel it. Food: the good: appetizers were flavorful and unique, not your run of the mill affair. lobster bisque was plentiful of lobster meat, but i would have preferred slightly more creme. everything was presented well. the desserts were amazing. not a fan of carrot cake at all but i would highly recommend you try it. the bad: crab cake still had shells in it. dry aged beef is not dry aged in house and you can taste the difference of it being provided off-site. Service: The service was abysmal. when getting an upper level dining experience it's a symphony and everything should connect without missing a note. our server was lackadaisical, non attentive and we were constantly stuck in a wait mode to order the next course. The management team was attentive to our issues and immediately worked to turn around our dining experience and get us to a point of satisfaction once issues were identified. Kudos to Andrew. My husband and I recently celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary at Killen's Steakhouse in Pearland. We had a fabulous dinner ordering the steak flight, which was amazing, appetizers, and dessert. The quality of the food is worth the price. It was a meal we won't forget! Unfortunately, during the evening our sweet waitress accidently spilled a red drink all over my cream colored dress. I was not upset, it was an accident, and she felt so bad I didn't want to make her feel worse. She even reached out to me the next day finding me on Facebook offering to replace my dress if the stain didn't come out, which it did. I say all of this because the level of customer service by the waitress and management exceeded anything my husband and i expected. We paid for our entire dinner that night, which we expected to do, but a few days later the manager refunded the entire meal. It was a very expensive dinner and we did not ask for that or expect the restaurant to do that. I even said that it wasn't necessary and we are not asking for a refund. We enjoyed our dinner. I thought they would comp the drink that was spilled on me, and I would have been happy with that but they went above and beyond. When the manager contacted me to tell me he wanted to take care of our meal I couldn't believe it. I thanked him but wanted to make sure none of the refund was charged back to the waitress. He said it would not be, the restaurant would take care of it. He said it was the right thing to do. In a world where we sometimes hear more bad than good on a given day, I just wanted to share this positive exprience. We will definitely return to Killen's soon and keep them in mind for future special events! Excellent customer service should be rewarded! Killen's, I hate wearing my mask. Especially when I took my time to put makeup. It's been a while since I had a chance to dress up. I was amazed to see the parking lot full! That made me happy. People are getting out and not letting the virus keep them in. Our waiter was super awesome and attentive Jake is his name. He was on point I started with a dirty martini with Kettle One. They got it just perfect not everyone nails them. Husband got a cold Dos XX dressed. Starters: I got the Scallops wrapped in bacon. They were so tasty and the scallops were cooked just right not rubbery. Husband got the crab cake freaking delish. Entree: I got the wet filet mignon medium done. It melted in my mouth! The season was perfect. Husband got the 16oz New York Strip wet aged well done he loved it too. For sides I got the broccoli and he got the creamed corn. I wanted the asparagus but I guess they were out. Either way food was great. Dessert: To end the dinner husband and I shared a carrot cake topped with ice cream. The service is always top-notch, making every visit feel special. The food is consistently amazing, and I love trying the latest creations from the chef. Their steaks are incredible--I'm a big fan of the filet mignon, and the tomahawk steak we shared was equally impressive. We recently tried the ramen deviled eggs, which were delightful. For the money I was not impressed, don't get me wrong it's a nice place and we had a decent time but for the money I'd rather go into town for a fine dining steak house meal. On a side note, look for gratuity on the bill and I guess you have to tip on top of gratuity or your waiter is gonna give you a crappy look when you hand him the bill back. read more

My experience here wasn't great. I had a reservation for 2, and they seated us at a table for 6 in this separate room with fluorescent lighting. Given how much we were paying for the occasion, we requested to sit at a different table. It took 2 tries before a waiter said yes and allowed us to move to a different table for 2. At this table, then a waiter, not realizing our water glasses were full, poured more water into our glasses and spilled water all over our table, and promptly left without helping once we said it didn't get on us. We had to notify someone else who then changed our table for us. Then, we were not getting our food (probably because the staff thought it was for our original table), so we had to notify a waiter that the food was for us. As for the food, it was ok, but I've been to better steakhouses at similar price points. The serving of lobster was very skimpy. The ice cream was very bland unfortunately. The manager did come and offer to comp our drinks and appetizer for our experience though. Overall, the service was lacking and the food was unremarkable. read more

My folks live in Pearland, but we live in town, and since there really aren't any fine-dining establishments in Pearland, we had to give this place a shot! Valet: There really shouldn't be a need for valet, although it's free. A little tip is that there is a small free parking area between the hotel and the restaurant. Service: Excellent. Waters and drinks were always refilled. Restaurant is smaller than I imagined, but a nice open concept nonetheless. Bar is right by the entrance and a wine tower is a centerpiece of the place. Appetizers: Kurobata pork belly and bacon-wrapped scallops were both delicious. Sides: Potatoes au gratin (amazing) and sauteed mushrooms (good, but can you really mess this up?). Steaks: What people come here for. We ordered the 16 oz wet-aged ribeye, medium well, and a 16 oz dry-aged ribeye, medium. There is a significant price difference between wet and dry-aged, so do not trust the older pictures, as prices have definitely gone up. In both cases, the steaks were overcooked, which was disappointing, and were definitely not as juicy as they should have been compared to other steak places I have visited. Flavor-wise, the wet-aged ribeye was a tad bit juicer and hands down tasted better compared to the dry-aged, which surprised me. I'm not sure the extra $ is worth it here, so maybe it was an off-day? Dessert: We tried their signature carrot cake with French-press coffee. The cake was really moist, and delicious, although a little bit sweet, and pared well with the coffee. All-in-all, I would not drive out of my way to go here because there are definitely better steak places in town. I picked a great restaurant for my husbands birthday dinner! Thanks to suggestions by one of the doctors at my job. Environment is warm and cozy. Ambient lighting. Great for a date night. I also Love the wine case on display in the middle of the dining room. We were greeted with Fresh warm bread and water within 5 minutes of being seated. We started off with the infamous crabcake and roasted bone marrow. The crabcake was perfect. 10/10. I didn't have any bone marrow but my husband liked it and said it was meaty and delicious. He really enjoyed his steak. It was "seasoned and cooked perfectly." I enjoyed my snapper but I didn't care for the sauce much. The lump crab meat was plentiful. We also had creamed corn and brussels to accompany our protein. I especially enjoyed the brussel sprouts. The New York sour was delicious (I'm not a whiskey drinker but I had some and I enjoyed it). My husband ordered 3 so that tells you something. The carrot cake was so damn good. It's served warm with a coconut ice cream on top (Dan our waiter said this is a new addition- I really liked it) please try the carrot cake if you go. Steak Flight Filet Mignon is a must! This is not listed on the menu but they do list a Steak Flight NY Strip 4 oz each for a total 16 oz. This in my opinion is perfect to share. There are two domestic portions, an Australian Wagyu and one portion Japanese Wagyu from the Kagoshima Prefecture. The filet option is more expensive but worth it in my opinion since it is a nicer cut. The flight gives a diner the insight into the texture and flavor of the different meats from around the world. It becomes obvious why the Japanese is so sought after. Other go to side orders are the creamed corn and the Brussel sprouts. They have a large selection of wines and cocktails to choose from and even a large beer menu. Chef Ronnie Killen has done a great job of bringing world class food to the community and exposing the average dinner to quality they don't usually find elsewhere. The atmosphere is relaxed and seems more casual than a steakhouse in downtown Houston. The distance from Houston to Pearland or even his Woodlands locations is quite far, but worth the drive to try high quality food. I've been coming to Killen's since before the new location opened and have been a fan for 10 years now. read more

My husband and I decided to go here for the final night of our honeymoon on my sister's recommendation. It did not disappoint! The complementary bread was great. They had a black walnut and cranberry (I think) bread that tasted really good. My husband got the Pomegranate Sunrise (I'm pretty sure that's the name) which he loved. I had the Girl Dinner cocktail and it was so smooth and sweet. For dinner we both ordered Ribeyes. I ordered a wet-aged and he got dry-aged. I loved my steak but the dry-aged ribeye had the most amazing smoky (not in a barbecue way) flavor. It's hard to describe so I suggest trying it for yourself. I'll definitely be switching to dry-aged next time! We had our steaks with a side of king crab mac & cheese. It was very good, although it could use a bit more crab for the price. Our waiter, Emmett, was spectacular. He made sure we were always taken care of. We did not order dessert but were given an amazing chocolate mousse dessert anyway to celebrate our honeymoon/marriage. Been here on a couple occasions. The first time, my dining partner and I tried the filet flight, which is four different types of filet at 4oz each. We enjoyed experiencing the nuances of each cut of meat. We also tried the Wellington, which was executed very well. The mushroom and puff pastry layers were masterfully done. Some fave side dishes include the Brussels sprouts and creamed corn. I also like the ramen deviled egg app, as it had a unique blend of flavors. My biggest gripe is that my first cocktail request is always sold-out, and I had to go to my 2nd or 3rd option, both times I was here. I was happy with the drinks though, but I would like to be able to try my first choice next time I visit! Parking is complementary valet.
