We were waiting to be helped next to a cash register on the chocolate treats side since we did not want ice cream and the staff was off to the side chatting then when someone did come over they tried to help the guy at the end of the line first ??? This is absolutely the WORST kilwins ever!!!!!!!!! They never have stock in any thing and NOT cooperative to get it for you. The lines are atrociously long and staff is horrible. They never have the Carmel apples in stock - ever. Miss the one in pPlano that they closed. They should have moved that staff to Grandscape. We came for ice cream after shopping at Scheels. We have been here before and while it's not fantastic, it's always been fine. Today was another story. We asked for a sundae and were promptly told that sundae's can only be made with vanilla ice cream. Somehow they bent the rules and made it with a different flavor. We asked for hot fudge and were given caramel. Instead of having them remake it, we told them it was OK they could go ahead and just add the hot fudge on top. The manager who was there, let us know that we would not be charged for the caramel. Upon getting our receipt, we were charged for the waffle bowl, ice cream, and three toppings. When we asked what the $1.39 (x3) charges were for, she indicated we were charged for hot fudge, whipped cream, and cherries. I pointed out that there was only one cherry, and she became very defensive and disputed that this is how they stack the charges at this ice cream shop. $1.39 for one cherry? I have never encountered such rude employees and a "nickel and dime" experience for what we got. $16 for this disaster is absurd. Do yourself a "flavor" and head to Braum's down the road and get ice cream for the whole family, exactly the way you want it and with a smile. We will never be back. read more

First off, the chocolate is amazing. The prices are not. Don't get me wrong. I'll pay extra for superior tasting chocolate, but it is a luxury item most definitely. What I really didn't like was the bearded gentleman that seemed to be running the place. He was brusque and not personable at all. When you're paying nearly fifty dollars for a couple of boxes of chocolates, you should at least expect politeness. The real crime is that my wife wanted a half dozen cherry cordials. He just dumped them into the bag loosely without packaging them. Those things are delicate! The store in the Shops At Legacy has much nicer stuff. It's worth the extra drive to go there. read more

I just assume that they are use to dealing with many kids screaming over ice cream, so I don't pay no attention. Food - 3/5 - Ordered the following: Sea Salt Caramel Twist - 4/5 - Not bad, but just a little pricy. Marsh Mallow Pop - 3/5 - Little dry, but probably because it is in the case all day. Cake balls - 4/5 - Random flavors. Big fan of cake balls, and although nothing stands out, can't go wrong with these. Oreo Ice Cream - My kid's favorite. It is great in a waffle cone, but whether it is inflation or not, pricy. Overall, I am thankful for the location and the option to order Ice Cream on the go while you walk around. It's overwhelming with all that's going on in this shop. They have a display of all different types of chocolates. This is NOT the Classic Kilwin's ice cream and candy shop from Plano in Legacy at all. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This place is gross. The chocolates & carmels in the cases all looked old and not fresh. We wouldn't let our kids get any of it. The workers at Kilwin's in Plano and Tennessee would never do that. This is not the Kilwin's we have been patrons of for 5 years and have brought our children to since they were babies. We were just at the one in Tennessee a few months ago and it was just like the one in Plano-Legacy East-clean, classic, fresh, delicious, friendly, clean, happy, professional workers and like what this old school ice cream and chocolate shop has been for 100yrs. I drove 30 mins to get to the closest Kilwins for fudge and caramel apples. I arrived on Sunday about 12:30. The fudge case was completely empty. When I asked about it, hoping maybe some was in the back, I was rudely told 'it's spring break...we haven't had a chance to make any lately.' They couldn't tell me when they would make some again. When I asked about the caramel apples I was told they make 100 at a time and they are usually gone in 2 days and they last made them several days ago. Wouldn't that suggest that you make them again on day 3? I have really enjoyed Kilwins when visiting Ft. Lauderdale and then recently in San Antonio. I had just run out of fudge and was hoping to get more for my daily indulgence. Was hoping to replenish my stash. I get that they might be a new store and not know how to plan for spring break traffic, but only 1 person behind the counter seemed to care and offer any type of customer service. Everyone else was rude and acted like the customers were an inconvenience. I will probably try the Plano location next time. read more

I visited Kilwin's in the Shops of Legacy often and was sad to see them close. every experience was pleasant. Today I visited the Grandscape location for the second time. The first time, the manager with a long beard was mixing the carmel. No hair net, nothing from keeping his straggling hairs from going into eh mix. It was a little gross and have not been back for a while. Today, we were in the Grandscape area and ran by the location. My husband reminded me that I said I would not go back, but with the Shops closed, this is my only alternative. I first noticed that the pecan-covered apples had two different colored caramels. The guy working could not tell me why they looked so different. Then I noticed that the apples looked terrible and were less than half covered with pecans. I was accustomed to how the Shops location always covered their fully. What the heck, since we are here so let's just give them a second shot. I asked for it to be cut as it was not offered to me. The guy got a knife and cut the apple into quarters. I asked him if he could cut it into eighths, and I am not sure what he did as he wrapped it back up in 4ths. Again, asked for eights and he began cutting with a knife. We asked if they had the apple cutter like at the Shops and he said, "No, we had one but someone broke it. They bought another one, and it broke too, so we just have to use a knife. We can't get another one." Ridiculous. Photos shows the poor quality of workmanship and overall quality. The four kids working behind the counter were running around frazzled and needed some supervision. Sadly, we will not be back. read more

If I could give this place zero stars I would. The store was so messy from what I could see thru the large windows, but with kids, I agreed to buy them ice cream. Waffle cone was actually good but we ordered a caramel apple with peanuts and the nuts on the caramel apple were rancid. I went to tell the manager and instead of apologizing, he said "I'm not giving you another one and these are the same peanuts we use for everything." Sir- i don't want another one. I was just letting you know. I wasn't complaining. Thank you for the refund but I will never come here again after the way you spoke with me and now knowing you use rancid nuts for your products. Pretty ice cream and candy shop. It was extra special, but it didn't seem that it was trying to be either. About the same as Baskin Robins. They were toasting the cones though, which was cool... and work all at the same time! I got pecan praline, and it actually had pecans in it! Other flavors were fudge and cookie dough for our group. $20 for one scoop cones and one scoop cup all together. They didn't wash the spoons off in between the scoops, so your pecan praline may have a touch of mint or Superman flavors in it. That wasn't great. Also, seating is outside, so expect your ice cream to melt and or have flies in the summer time! read more

We are from out of town and Came here around 10:30 pm on a Friday evening. There was a good amount of customers and selection. I ordered 4 chocolate turtles and the gentleman handling my order used a napkin to pick up 3, and his bare hands to pick up one. I was surprised but thought nothing of it, until my father ordered 4 chocolates as well and with his bare hands again grabbed all 4 turtles and put them in a box. He put all the chocolates together but we were paying separately, so he picked up half of the chocolates, again with his bare hands. I was so shocked at what was happening that we paid, walked out, and threw our chocolates untouched into the garbage. Please don't go here if you care about cleanliness and common sense. read more
