Chicken!
Robert P.

Been here quite a few times when visiting family. Food is really good, service folks are very nice however service can be slow at times. Worse problems in life, but something to be mindful of. This review includes the Banchan, Be Bim Bap, Soft Tofu Soup and bbq chicken. Yum!

Delicious lunch stop!

Delicious. Perfectly balanced, high quality food. Unexpected surprise on the Peninsula. I'll be making the drive up to enjoy more dishes next

It was good. The Bulgogi was good. Salad and cucumber salad were also good. It was good for a lunch special

Stone bowl bibimbap

Staff were friendly and patient. We ordered the stone bowl bibimbap (crispy rice was so good!) and the dinner course for 2. The staff came by and helped grill the meat for us which was nice but a different experience to what I was used to which is grilling it myself. The food was delicious!

Had a great diner here. Service was wonderful. Luckily we were able to get seated quickly on Valentine's Day. This is a nice restaurant next to Bristol farms. Ambiance is good, it's family friendly. Good menu options. Quality of the food was great.

Korean BBQ Combo

Great Korean BBQ option in the South Bay. The meat and veggie selections were excellent. They also offer a variety of traditional Korean beers and other beverages. Highly recommended!

Having kbbq in PV is insane. Never did I ever imagine this happening, all the kbbq and anything asian would usually be in Torrance or Gardena. Anyway, that's not to say this isn't a welcome addition. Contrary to that, Kim's BBQ is a huge welcome to PV. It's not AYCE and it's pricier but it works. They'll cook the meat for you and yadda yadda. The one quip I do have is that the standard stew and steamed eggs are add-on options instead of being included with the combos. Now they serve non-Kbbq food as well and also have lunch specials if you want that instead. We'll have to try that next time, but everything overall was pretty decent for what you can get in Palos Verdes. The restaurant is a little small but it can get real busy especially on weekends. But for your convenience: Kim's BBQ.

Place was hopping. I grew up on the hill and have seen so many restaurants come and go. We love Korean BBQ and weren't looking forward to drive down the hill and wait an hour + at that G*** for all you can eat. This place meat is quality! The appetizers were good. They have a system where they cook for you instead of you DIY. The boss seemed to be watching and he jumped in and help change out or grill as well as turn our meat. I will be back next time I am in town. Maybe a bit pricey but worth it!

Combo for 2

The good: I got the combination platter of bbq meats for 2-3 people that was $88 and included bulgogi, jowl, pork belly and brisket. It also came with 3 pieces of mushroom, 1 asparagus and a slice of white onion. They have a la carte options too as well as speciality dishes that aren't bbq (ex: bibimbap). I thought the gold metal dishes were pretty and unusual (usually Korean restaurants have the silver). The interior is modern and sleek with a really cool wood wall with built in lights. We got a side of rice that was very moist and yummy. The meat quality was nice and the presentation was excellent. They cook the meat for you in front of you on your individual grill. I came on a Monday and we were seated right away. We also had grape soju that was enjoyable. The bad: I wish the front door were open for ventilation because the fumes inside made me cough. It was interesting how you only got one asparagus spear. The food took longer than expected to come out. The food is all raw so I was surprised that it took so long. We finished the combo with the 2 of us but I think we would've been hungry if there were 3 people. I've had combos for 2-3 at other Korean bbq places before that offered a larger quantity. The interesting: We weren't offered dipping sauces but we got some after asking (chili, fermented dip, soy sauce vinegar type dip and salt).

Bone in short rib soup
Lanai I.

We've been coming bi-weekly for lunch and their food and service is excellent. Fresh and flavorful! The side assortments change and it's been wonderful trying freshly made new sides every few weeks! The short rib soup is bone in so it is full of flavor and a lot of meat! Value is great for the quality of meats, sides and the quantity you get. The wife and husband team are so very friendly and we hope you come and support this lovely local gem!

Really wanted to like this place given the proximity; however the food portions were very small and the service was nonexistent.

Granted I eat small to medium sized portions, but still the dishes were well=sized for anyone. I love the yookgejang kalguksoo that I ordered. It wasn't that spicy at all. It was a perfect amount of kick. I felt it had the right amount of beef, which was tender btw, and the noodles were superb. Beware though, the red sauce may splatter when you slurp up the noodles. The soup should probably come with a bib haha. I had some of the boiled dumplings which were good too, but the aesthetic of it was a bit off putting. They were enormous (huge plus) but the boiled ground pork inside looked a bit pink so I felt like I was eating someone's brain. When I took it home, I fried it up a bit snd it was 10x better. Service was good. Our food was prepared fairly quickly considering we were there during a busy lunch hour. Parking was easy and the restaurant was nice and clean.

The panko crumbs on the chicken was nice and light. It was perfectly fried and not too hard/over crispy. The meat was also juicy. My toddler ate 3 large pieces of it and kept complimenting how tasty it was. The kim chi fried rice had a great fried egg in it and had great flavor. Even the side of rice was delicious! It was moist and sticky without being overcooked. The bad: I didn't get to experience the food court dining in the grocery store. The interesting: The dishes came with a side salad with orange dressing, pickled yellow radish, and some citrus wedges. The dishes came with 3 pickled side dishes (including kim chi). and a soup.

So we scoured its food court for a quick meal and found this stall with a large selection of Korean dishes. After browsing through their wall mount menu, we ordered the following dishes: A1 Galbi Tang: Do you like juicy pork ribs in clear broth? Then this dish is for you. It came with 2 huge pieces of super tender short rib simmered in a light but flavorful broth with some soft texture glass noodles. It also came with a small set of traditional Korean Banchan side dishes (with kimchi, preserved turnip and seaweed salad) and a bowl of steamed rice. A16 Hot Stone Bibimbap: This dish is for those who like veggies. Inside the hot stone bowl, there were lettuce, bean sprouts, carrots, turnips, mushrooms, and zucchini. Nicely arranged and topped with seaweed, fried egg, and slices of soft beef. On the bottom of the bowl, it had slightly burnt steam rice dabbed with sesame oil. Mixing them all together, it created a kaleidoscope of colors, and delicious blending of flavors and textures. This dish also came with one set of Banchan. For those who like spiciness, it provided Korean chili sauce in a sealed condiment cup. The portions were great and the prices were reasonable. Another great spot for casual Korean food in South Bay.

What a delightful surprise! While hunting for Crumbl, I stumbled upon this hidden gem called "Over…read morethe Rice" tucked away inside Fat Tomato's space. This creative pop-up kitchen is serving up some seriously interesting Korean fusion dishes. I decided to shake things up and try their bulgogi over pasta instead of the usual rice - and wow! Flavorful bulgogi paired wonderfully with perfectly al dente, garlic-infused noodles. It's not a combination I would have dreamed up, but it works! Though the prices run a bit high, the quality justifies the cost. Interestingly, the talented chef behind the counter bore a striking resemblance to the owner of Yellow Fever (Closed) on Crenshaw - though I can't say for certain if it's the same person.

Overall this place is okay for the price. If you're hungry and craving Korean inspired flavors over…read morerice and noodles, it is perfect. I ordered online and they had it ready for pick up when I arrived 5 mins later. Be aware that the restaurant is doubled up with Fat Tomato Pizza. I took photos to help future customers. I ordered spicy pork over rice, beef over noodles, and a little side of curry to try their curry. Cons: Location. There is very little signage. You don't know you're there until you're at the door. The food is a little on the sweet side. I was hoping for a spicy garlic pork that was leaning more toward salty than sweet. But it was somehow sweeter than the beef bulgolgi. The beef is a little dry but not jerky level as previous reviews have stated. It is clear though that the dishes are put in the pizza oven. There is no restroom and very very limited seating inside. This is a pick up only kind of place. Pros: The noodles are good. No lying there. They feel kinda like fresh ramen noodles so they have some chew to them which give a great texture. The meat is well marinated. Even if it's not to my flavor liking, there isn't any moment where the meat has no flavor. There is also the speed with which the order was filled. The price is also a pro in the current state of the world. So yeah. Def recommend if your at the top of the hill and looking for someplace the find and pick up.

This place did not disappoint! We ordered an 8pc original wing with sauces on the side (yang neom & garlic habanero). I hope they've hired more help and gotten better at this. - 4 stars for their fried chicken. The only thing we didn't like is that every time we ate here and ordered their fried chicken we felt great eating it but then had a weird tummy ache afterwards and lots of burping. But the chicken tasted so good! I don't think I'd go back again just on the two points alone, but my husband said he'd give it another try. So try it at your own risk. You may have a different experience than we did. This place used to be a Korean bbq spot - I miss that place!
