This place is ~kinazing~ fosho. And serendipitous, too. I had just discovered the deliciously brothy, love-in-a-bowl dish that is khao soi the week before and had made a home version. When I saw Kin Sen had it on their menu, I had to try it! No regrets there. The soup was a perfect blend of red curry and coconut milk (arguably the best dairy out there), and the toppings were a lovely mix of savory and crunchy. The only critique I have is that it was a tad salty for my taste, especially with the pickled cabbage on the side, but it ain't no big. Kin Sen Asian Noodle Bar is my favorite noodle spot in the city (and I eat A LOT of noodles). It's hard to go wrong with choices on the menu. My go-to favorite is the Boat Noodle, it's packed so full of savory flavor goodness I still order it when its 100'F+ in the middle of summer. The pho and pad Thai are some other items I recommend (but if you've never tried boat noodle, you really should). While the food is amazing, the service makes the experience even more special. They will go out of their way to make sure you're 100% satisfied with their food and service. The owner took the time to learn my name the second time I went there and always greets me with a smile. The owner will even follow up with me via text when I place my order though a service like Door Dash to make sure my order is just right before it ever goes out. read more

Kicking myself for not trying this place sooner! Cute space first off. For all of us OG's this use to be the Tin Angel spot, right across from Pioneer Park. So, menu has your typical Asian/Thai cuisine, but all of it is delicious. There were 5 in our party this night so we got an array of food. Appetizers were curry puffs and crispy rolls. Everything was fried to perfection. Curry puffs are sometimes hard to get right cause the portions are off but that was not the case here; ratios were on point. Main dish I went with the Tom Yum Seafood Soup, so delicious! Packed with flavor and cooked really well. I got the mixed seafood version and the squid was nice and soft. Others at the table got the Boat Noodles and a curry dish which I hear were really good. We left with no food on the table, which is always a good sign. We've dined at numerous Asian joints in Salt Lake and like each of them for various reasons. We tend to play it safe on our first visit, try the "one that got away" on the second, and take a leap on the third. Tonight was our first experience at Kin Sen. Our kind and attentive waitress was extremely accommodating and executed a perfect balance of privacy and service. We ordered Thai Tea, Gyoza, Drunken Noodles (chicken) and Pad Thai (chicken). I can say, confidently, that Kin Sen produced the most excellent serving of Drunken Noodles I have tasted to date. Everything else was superb, too. Presentation, taste, texture, all of it. We really enjoyed the meal, atmosphere, and service. The menu is reasonably priced, portioned, and varied. It will be difficult to knock this out of our Top 5 for Asian cuisine. read more

I've had to go down a star based on our last takeout experience. We ordered through DoorDash (don't do it!) the poor delivery driver went to the restaurant to get my order, I was charged, and the restaurant said we don't work with them. I'm not sure if this is the restaurant's fault or DoorDash. After, we decided to place a takeout order and go pick it up ourselves. The person taking the order was extremely rude and did not seem to want our business at all. My husband went to pick up the food and also said that they were rude because he did not have a tap card and would have to slide his card. Seems like a weird thing to be annoyed about! WOW!!! This place... I got the braised short rib boat noodle and it's insane! Makes my top 5 noodle dishes I've had in the nation. This dish is like the best Pho meets the best braised short rib Massaman you've had X10! I've found a new go to after this experience! Please go visit. You'll be hard pressed to find an Asian who doesn't love their noodz. I think I first drove by this place before it was opened and I already couldn't wait to try it. I was so excited to see Khao Soi on their menu. When I went to Thailand, that was my absolute favorite dish. Kin Sen did not disappoint. The flavors were authentic, maybe the curry was a tad heavy, but still so delicious. I also loved the chili oil they give you on the side. Nice and spicy if that's what you're about. I had enough for two meals so with that in mind, the price was very reasonable. I can't comment on the atmosphere because we had it delivered in these COVID times, but I can say that the food was still hot when it came. My friends tried the drunken noodles and we shared some curry puffs. The curry puffs are so tasty. The drunken noodles were not bad, my friend thought it was too salty though. I look forward to trying their other dishes but don't know if I can resist getting the khao soi every time read more

Hubs and I got to-go yakisoba with chicken and pad thai with tofu. Cute spot, and COVID-19 protocols were diligently observed. Both noodle dishes were phenomenal. First, the food came HOT - had obviously been made to order. My pad thai was just the right amount of sweet, sour and spicy, and the toppings were fresh and actually added something rather than being obligatory. Noodles were perfect texture, which I noticed about those in my husband's dish as well. We will be back next time we're in SLC! read more
