This place is an institution. It's been here forever. And it has stood the test of time for good reason. It was originally a grocery store that also served burgers. But the burger counter was so popular, now the whole place is a classic burger joint. And the burgers are really good -- as are the onion rings and fried okra. (We haven't tried the fries yet.) The onion rings are flavorful, crispy, and surprisingly peppery. You order at the counter, and they call your name when your order is ready. Everything is packed to go but you can eat there (they have plenty of seating). The only issue I had was that if you go to the tables to sit while you wait for your order, you can't hear the names they're calling out. They offer beer and ice cream as well, including Shiner and Blue Bell. Go Texas :-) I had the regular cheeseburger, "Cowtown Style" (with grilled onions and Jalapeno). I loved it! 7/6/26. I don't need to go into the history of this place. It is well documented. Suffice to say I have been going here since I was a kid (we won't say how long ago that was, but the burgers were 65 cents). I had to be in the neighborhood so decided to hit it up for lunch. There wasn't even a line, which is unusual. I quickly ordered and received my order within 5 minutes. Everything was hot and fresh, and generally good as always. If nothing else they are consistent. The 1/2 lb patty, melted cheese, all the vegetables were there in ample amounts. However a few critiques are in order. The meat was bordering on overwhelming in size and could have used some seasoning. It lacked some flavor; perhaps a mix with a tad more fat (ok the haters are going to come after me now, but we all know fat is flavor). The cheese got lost in the size of the meat and almost seemed to not be there. All in all a good (not great) fresh old fashioned cheeseburger. I do have a gripe about the onion rings. Every single ring, which were only about 5 rings, consisted of a microscopically thin "slice" of onion that couldn't be tasted and hardly existed, and a lot of batter. The batter was well seasoned, but come on guys. Give us a decent sized ring will ya?! Of course I will come back because this is an institution on the west side of Fort Worth where I grew up. So I'm still on my greatest burger tour. Between a Yelp and Google search, I ended up here at Kincaid's. This place does not disappoint. Lots of history in this one. I went with the Cattleman Burger - it intrigued. Onion rings and BBQ sauce. It was super good. Thick patty, crispy onion ring, pickles and a decent BBQ. And I got of onion rings as a side. Doubled down on them. And a good choice. You can tell they are hand made - not frozen. Lots of other choices on the menu if you're not feeling a burger. This is at the top of my burger list so far. I used to think I was a fairly smart individual. I actually thought I could eat a whole regular hamburger. Man, was I wrong! Yes, I know my appetite isn't what it used to be. Gone are the days when I could eat three fried chickens and a coke. There must be a wee bit of false advertising at play. They call that a half pound burger ... it seemed bigger than that. The first time we had their food was late November 2024, and we have gone about 8 times or so since then. All the times I've ordered their cheeseburgers, their patties have been flavorful, juicy, thick, and cooked to perfection. 5/5 The times I've ordered for pickup they have always been friendly thus far and provided good customer service. It gets busy, especially during the weekends, so plan accordingly. If you're looking for a good cheeseburger, I highly recommend this spot. We stopped by Kincaid's Hamburgers while visiting Fort Worth a couple of weekends ago. I included Kincaid's on my list of dining options in the Dallas Fort Worth area after reading Guy H.'s enthusiastic review. Kincaid's has been in business since 1946, and that fact alone would make this outpost a rarity anywhere these days. Immediately upon seeing Kincaid's in person for the first time, I was mesmerized by the vintage aspect of it: the red neon signage outdoors, the name of the business emblazoned on glass windows, the neighborhood diner meets indoor picnic meets community dining aspect and the intriguing ephemera inside. The people who worked the ordering station were very friendly and eager to answer questions. Dining-wise, the bacon cheeseburger was my favorite item, and it came dressed with lettuce, tomatoes, pickle, mayo and mustard. I had hoped the burger would have been a but juicier and maybe not as well done, but I still really liked it. The onion rings, however, were overly peppery and super crispy. Next time, I would skip those and get fries. I tried a few fries, and those were good. Sweet tea was my drink of choice, and I enjoyed it with a few slices of lemon. Parking outside was easy considering how incredibly popular this place is. Finding a place to sit inside was more of a challenge because of the Saturday lunch rush, and we ended up sitting near the front door. But I was happy to visit Kincaid's and enjoyed my visit overall. 4/5, Recommended! read more

Best burger in town (or out of town). I laugh because everyone told me Kincaid's burgers were the best when I moved to the area and now I believe it. They are perfect. Mustard, lettuce, tomato, on a quality burger patty and bun. The onion rings are perfectly seasoned and I got the fries at my last visit and they are solid as well. I haven't tried anything else but I always think I will have room for a Blue Bell shake but my eyes are bigger than my stomach. The service is quick too, and I'm used to their being a small line. My parents first took me to Kincaids back in 1988. And I really liked the food. In the little town that I grew up in, we had Tookies Hamburgers that opened in 1975. It is an eclectic restaurant like Kincaids but not nearly as old. I grew up eating Tookies and at one ne time it was my favorite place to get hamburgers in Seabrook Texas, but when in Fort Worth, it is Kincaids. Overtime the way the food is prepared and served changes for good or ill, that's what happened to Tookies. Hurricane Ike flooded the restaurant back in 2008 and the owner sold it. The new owner kept the old menu but added stuff to it, put a bar in where my favorite booth was and then moved the restaurant to Galveston county. Tookies has not been the same since it was sold.Kincaids has not really changed since I first went there with my parents, though things have changed for me. My parents are both gone now, and when I was there I was flooded with memories of eating there with my mom and dad. It was nice to remember them there. A fun game to play when you are waiting to order is to look at the expiration dates on the food cans. It may be time for Kincaids to restock. So if you are looking for a really good consistent Hamburger in the place it has been for forever, look no further. Kincaids is the place to go. Pro tip, if you go there during the week and park on the street beside Kites dry cleaners, they may put a note on your windshield telling you, you cannot park there. Just tell them it is a public street and enjoy the rest of your visit. This actually happened to me back in 1996. I loved the eggs, they were eggcellent (har har). The burger was alright, nothing to write home about, but it was also missing condiments. I feel like I'd enjoy the 1/4 patty more as I was expecting more of a smash burger type vibe. The onion rings were delicious dipped in the ranch, very fresh and crispy. I love Kincaid!! It's like an old time drive thru except it's not. I love that the burger came in a brown bag, and it's juicy and delicious. Service is very fast, and just seamless. I tried to call in to place a carry out order. 10/09 at 11:55 am. The girl who answered put me on a 5 minute hold twice and was incredibly rude when I placed my order. Wouldn't repeat it back to me. Kincaids isn't exactly a top tier choice, but it's down the street from my house making it quick to pick up. But I'll just go to Tommy's next time. Banana pudding saved the review. :) I called in an order for pickup ... and they got it wrong. I didn't verify it, so that's on me. They gave me a burger with lettuce, a patty, and a bun. Now, for me, the real joy of a burger is the wondrous combination of mayo, mustard, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles ... all those toppings playfully cajoling in my mouth with the burger part of the burger. The meat patty by itself was nothing special. It was good, but I've had a lot better. That said, the banana pudding is REALLY GOOD. And if they make a good 'naner puddin', in my book, chances are, they also make a good burger (when they get my order right). read more

I've heard of Kincaid's and thought we'd give it a try. Today we ordered two burgers, one with and one without cheese. They were good. I'd argue though that the meat needed seasoning-salt and pepper. Just seemed to lack flavor. Their French fries were good, hot and a little salt and I was happy. Also tried their "homemade" onion rings and nothing special...lacked flavor. This isn't your gourmet burger, it is though perhaps the best classic burger you will ever have. I will be stopping in here every time there is a visit to Fort Worth. I haven't eaten here in at least six months. I was really disappointed at the size of the burger that I got. I ordered onion rings and they were full of pepper. I don't know where somebody thought that was a good idea but they were horrible. These guys used to be good unfortunately they their sold or sold out and they're no longer the quality product they used to be. I would definitely not recommend them not even starving. read more

First time here! Got the cowtown deluxe with added lettuce and tomatoes. The smell of the burger was coming through the bag as I walked to my car. It make my mouth water and I did make myself wait to enjoy in my car after I took the picture. Burger was hot and i did my happy dance with a yum sound after the first bite. Never had pimento cheese on a burger before and I loved it. It was cooked done and still juicy so much that next time I will ask them to double wrap the burger. Luckily I had my steering wheel tray to catch it. Would definitely be making the drive from weatherford again. Service was quick and the order came out quickly! I had never heard of Kincaid's but passed by one day on a shopping outing. The sign alone let me know this was a place to research on Yelp. I was thrilled to learn it's a Fort Worth Original and was once voted "Best Burger in America." What I like is the Cowtown Deluxe. This big, juicy cheeseburger features grilled onions and jalapeños and a dot of pimiento cheese. I add on the lettuce, tomato, mustard, and mayo because I want all the fixin's but it sure makes it messy to eat. Parking can be challenging and obviously there's the wait to order and get food. Seating also limited when crowded. But wow, pretty darn good cheese burgers, grilled cheese, fries, onion rings (maybe a little too peppery). Definitely worth the stop if in Fort Worth. read more
