First time here at approx 1 pm on a Friday. We loved the number of options and the chicken was really good. However, items that are doughy , wrapped or have breading (potstickers, fried calamari) were very chewy. We didn't hate the food but I'm not going to go rushing back for it. Also, after going to the buffet just twice the lady cleared our table and left the check. We are not big eaters and didn't have much. Felt like that was rude. read more

I gave it a one star because I had to give it something Very Disappointed this time. Food was not hot all chicken was extremely dry. Possibly the best staff of any restaurant in the Dover area! They greet you like family as soon as you walk in the door, take you directly to your seat immediately, and take your drink order. I entered, was seated, and had food in around 2 minutes, my drink was there when I got back from getting my first plate. The waitress remembers my family every time, plays with our kids, and even brings them treats. The owner on multiple occasions has picked our children up, and walked around with them. They're all like family to us, and we genuinely appreciate their entire staff!! Absolutely love King Buffet, but we especially love their staff, and of course their food! read more

We were there for lunch. The variety was adequate but keep in mind that lunch is over at 3:00 pm so some of the choices were not refilled. The items that we did have were hot and flavorable. If you enjoy dessert at lunch, they had many choices. read more

The service is pretty good and they have lots of foods to choose. Not really pricey and the best part, they're closed to where I live. :)

I have been going to this buffet for a while now it's been good great price but today I went and our check went from $41 to $55 confused us quite a bit so we went to the front and they pointed out a sign that looks like been written in crayon that if you have more than 2 plates of seafood the charge will be $25 instead of $18 like it usually is no staff member told us about this nor did they try to rectify the situation we will No longer be going there. read more

Loved it, never been to a Chinese buffet in DE until yesterday (it's past midnight as I am typing this). Went there on a date with my GF. The staff were nice; there was a good variety of food as well. The decor, lights, and architecture of the inside of the restaurant looked beautiful and better than the buffets in Salisbury, MD. I wish they had steak pie like one of the ones in Salisbury. The BBQ pork though was amazing, and the pigs in a blanket nice as well, so it did have some food the other ones didn't have. We always have a great experience at King Buffet. The y have a good variety of food and it is fresh and delicious.

As mentioned in previous reviews, Hostess and Staff were very friendly. The waiting (15 minutes) on a Sunday late afternoon was well handled and very organized . Drink came fast and food was arranged and well presented with the small exception of a couple " mystery dishes" .(which were good)! Started with a fresh salad and peal and eat shrimp. Both were chilled and fresh. The main course was mostly seafood ( assorted shrimp and shellfish), all were hot, tasty and flavorful! Finished off the visit with banana pudding that was average at best, but really didn't expect more than that at a buffet in Dover Delaware! Cost was really reasonable. Will be returning for sure. read more

I went to this establishment about a month ago for lunch after a loooong layoff because my last experience was so bad. I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised!! It was like walking in for the very first time. Everything was colorful and shiny. The staff was pleasant. Everything I tried was pretty good except for one thing but that was only because it was a little old. I'm so glad that I gave it a second chance, or I would've missed out! What a turnaround! Went here today for lunch, we enjoyed ourselves and for less than $40 was nice selection of food. The ribs were awesome, shrimp not so much they were hard to peel, the wings were awesome to. All the food was nice and hot, staff very polite and courteous. We'll be back ! read more

Nothing. Got the worst food poisoning of my life from there and had to spend thanksgiving on the toilet holding a trash can to puke in. Asked for a refund and was told they wouldn't do it and blamed me saying I should have asked them to make fresh food. Food selection was sparse, way over priced, cheesy atmosphere. read more

This has to be the WORST buffet I've ever seen. Arrived in Dover particularly hungry after traveling and all I wanted was to eat copious amount of sushi. The building itself is an eyesore, bright blue and tacky. The hostess was very sweet and promptly seated us and the place was pretty full, that combined with the reviews I thought the food must surely be good. I bee lined to the sushi sushi and was horrified to find a dismal sushi selection with mushy, unappetizing rolls, DULL looking tuna nigiri (it was pale pink instead of red) and a lovely fly by action and actual fly landed on the sushi. The selection was poor, disappointed and not fit for consumption. I walked back to my table and ended up leaving in search of sushi elsewhere. read more

We ate here about 6 pm after the Dover Nascar race. When we walked in everything looked very clean and the staff are friendly and sweet. We don't eat Sushi but there was a lot of kinds of it to choose from. ..Excellent choices of meats ,chicken and fish. shrimp, clams of various sizes. Lots of vegetables and vegetarian choices of Asian rices, noodles and spring rolls. Many fresh Asian desserts, plus fresh Apple pie, 5 fresh fruits , fresh cookies. Many American dishes with the kids in mind like fries and creamy Mac and cheese. We enjoyed this meal for $12.50 each! We drank water. Sodas were an extra $2 I think. Haven't been there in a long time. They've made some nice improvements. The seating area looks nice and the bathrooms were updated and clean. However, the food was mediocre. I don't know why I go to these buffets because it's always the same. $16 spent and I left unsatisfied. I won't be back. read more

We decided to try this place because of the reviews talking about the "good food and cheap prices". Boy were we surprised when we ate here for lunch. Maybe it was the time of day we went to lunch (2pm) or king buffet was having an off day. When we walk in the place looked nice. Loved the atmosphere and the decorations. Then we go get the buffet food. First off there wasn't that many selections. Some of the food was lukewarm or cold unless they just brought out the food. There was no one at the Mongolian section where they cooked food in front of you. My fiancé waited for a good 15 mins till he got his food cooked. There were some good food items to report. They had good dim sum dumplings, bourbon chicken, spring rolls and the Chinese sugar donuts. We figured we get what we paid for but was surprised to find our bill to be $12.50 a person. Uhhh...yes there were some seafood items but I didn't think the lunch was worth almost 13$ You would think coming on a weekday lunch buffet it would be cheaper. Even the advertising menu didn't even have the buffet prices. Needless to say we will not be returning. read more

I will not eat here again!! Even if was free!! So, first off many items on their bar are lacking flavor. Secondly, when I went to pay; I was scolded on how much food my son left on his plate. If we were ALLOWED to take it with us we would have. And, it would not have gone to waste. It is not my fault that King Buffet does not allow customers to do so. It was not her place to tell me I should know as a parent how much my son would eat. She had no problem taking my money though. Now, they've lost a customer. Standard Chinese-American buffet as far as what they have to offer, but everything is always fresh and hot. Great prices and they offer a military discount which is nice. This has been our favorite one in Dover by far. read more

WARNING!!! If this is your fist time you will be scammed if you are not careful during lunch time. They switch out trays from lunch to dinner and not label them right away. If you don't know and grab something from the dinner tray, you will be charged the dinner price instead of lunch even though it's not marked. If you talk to them about it, they will just say that it was labeled right away and deny it that it wasn't (its your word against theirs). The manager even tried to say that she was standing right there when she was not. It was an OK price for lunch, but the food was not worth the dinner price. The staff seem friendly, but do not trust them! If they do sketchy stuff like this in front of the customers, it makes me wonder what they're doing in the back where no one can see. Best to avoid them, many great options in this area that will not play games like that. read more
