Y'all King Dough is noooo joke! I somehow stumbled across their instagram page before actually eating there and I was hooked. They highlight beautiful pizzas and desserts. I had to try it out for myself. I visited King Dough Indy during the 2nd week of January and I have already been back TWICE! You can use the Yelp app to get in line before you arrive and that helps cut down on wait times. I had a group of seven with me so we had to wait about 30 minutes for our table. It was well worth the wait. For dinner a friend and I split the R & B and the first bite the pizza spoke to my soul!! The ingredients were so fresh and the ricotta was rich rich. I fell in love. The next time I visited I ordered the baby margherita and was in awe. They really know how to do pizza! For dessert we split a cookie car. It comes with six cookies, 2 lemon cookies, 2 dark chocolate sea salt and 2 snickerdoodles. Each cookie was warm and full of flavor! I would definitely recommend King Dough Indy to anyone! read more

Pizza was ok. Not bad for a vegan pizza. The wings were not good imo. Drenched in buffalo sauce and the chicken was tough. I hate when the meat is not tender makes you not want to eat it. Maybe less sauce and figure out a way to get the wings tender. read more

Pizza may be my favorite food category, and King Dough may be my favorite pizza spot in Indy. The crust is chewy and thin, their sauce is fresh and 'just right', the mozzarella is spot on and the toppings are fancy. If you are starving you might be able to finish one pizza on your own, but you could do well to split a pizza and a salad with a friend. The space for dine-in is an open, airy atmosphere with windows on three-sides and a spacious patio for eating al-fresco. The pizza oven has a mosaic masterpiece in plain sight of everyone in the building, as it should be in a good pizza joint. The pizzas are small and thin enough that you might enjoy them more as a dine-in experience rather than getting take out. When I have gotten take out in the past, the pizza is not piping hot when I get home and I wish I could have eaten it sooner. Still delicious, though! (PS, bring back the R&B!) read more

We ordered takeout from King Dough. I tried to call to place an order and was unable to get ahold of anyone and was directed to do so online. Placing the order online was a bit Cumbersome. Online orders have a Automatic gratuity of 15% added to them. I've never seen this for takeout. When I went to pick up the pizza it was ready early, and the dinning area was closed. Not sure if you can dine in during select hours as I couldn't find this information easily online and nobody answers the phone. I saw several guests turned away due to not understanding hours, etc. Overall, pizza was interesting and had unique flavors. When we arrived it was packed and I was expecting a wait, However I was pleasantly surprised that we were seated right away! Our waiter was very attentive and we didn't have to wait long for our pizza. The pizza was very tasty! The only drawback was part of it fell apart when I tried to take a slice. When I asked for a pizza spatula I was told they did not have them. It's very surprising to go to a pizza place that doesn't have a pizza spatula. 12.27 Can my review just be "Hell Yes" lol. I've been trying new spots all month. I love pizza so i'm always hesitant when trying a new place because of the crust/thickness & pizza sauce. The star belly was my first cocktail. I'm not a fan of sugary liquor but this drink was perfect! The leather daddy was different but i enjoyed every sip. The Hot honey sesame wings were crispy on the outside and moist inside. My pizza was good but the dough struggled to support all of my extra cheese. My friend had the spartachoke and loved it. A fellow diner actually let us try their Destroyer pizza and omg . We went back and forth on their seasonal peppermint desserts but settled on the brownie. It was good but next time i'll ask for it to be warmed w/ an extra scoop. The atmosphere is cool very new trendy laid back. It's sort of an open concept kitchen. We've been here in person and have ordered delivery. Their pizza is some of the best downtown and they have a lot of unique flavor combinations with their specialty pizzas. You can get a traditional pepperoni pizza through the build your own, but I'd HIGHLY recommend trying a specialty pizza. Their Big Boy has several different types of meats and then has a sweet red pepper kick. The pizzas are pretty big, about 8 large slices. My husband and I can eat a whole pizza though. When we had the pizza delivered, it took about 50 minutes, which I didn't think was too bad for Saturday evening delivery! read more

Wowwww. This place is a 10/10! My husband and I spent a day trying new places in Indy and while driving aimlessly around Indy we literally just spotted King Dough and figured let's add it to the list! It was a very random, middle of the day time so the place wasn't super busy and we decided to sit at the bar. We enjoyed the sticky stix, which is basically mozzarella sticks with hot honey then a destroyer pizza. The pizza was basically red sauce, mozzarella, rosemary, basil, garlic, goat cheese, italian sausage and hot honey. It was a very delicious pizza, however I wish the crust was just a bit more firm and less floppy (that's my personal taste.) we will definitely come back and try to enjoy the awesome patio! read more

I am always on the hunt for good pizza and King Dough is some of the best you can find in Indianapolis. For an appetizer I love the sticky stix mozzarella sticks that set themselves apart with the hot honey topping. While I come for the pizza, I cannot get enough of their salads specially that shop salad with delicious bacon and home croutons. I had it one time last summer and remember liking it but this time around I was like ummmm where has this pizza been hiding all my life? Food = fantastic, but service left something to be desire. Let's start with the food, we ordered a three beers, glass of wine, Caesar salad, and two pizzas. We were shocked to see how cheap the drinks were and the local variety. The salad was crisp and fresh, and pizza was delicious, and could be easily shared between two people. As for the service, we never received silverware for the salad so had to grab some off another table after asking for it. One pizza was perfect, but the custom one came out wrong after the waiter repeated it FOUR times to us at our table. Luckily, once we spoke to a manager he ended up comping the pizza as the other two in our party had their pizza get cold as they waited for ours to be remade. Disappointing. Maybe it was the hype. There were so many great reviews, maybe it just couldn't meet my expectations, but then again, if it was rated three stars instead of five, I probably would not have ended up there in the first place. The good- the location is awesome, the vibe is good, the patio is amazing. Unfortunately it was raining. We sat inside. The interiors are hard, and there is no sound absorption at all. It's loud. The truffle fries came out quick and they were also fantastic. I asked the server for a recommendation between the Big Boy and the Gabba Ghoul, both sounded great. She said the Big boy was her favorite, so I ordered it. My wife ordered a make your own with pepperoni and bacon. It didn't take long for the pizzas to be served. They looked great. The tops were a little charred, but not too much so. The bottom of the pizza was cooked, but still a little chewy, also ok. Unfortunately, everything in the middle wasn't quite done. The pizza could have indeed another couple minutes in the oven at a lower temp to fully cook the dough. My wife said hers tasted salty, an issue I noted in an earlier review and it may be due to the ingredients on the pizza, I did not notice this on my pizza. All in all, it wasn't a bad experience. It just wasn't the five star, best pizza ever, experience I was lead to expect and was really hoping for. I would typically destroy a pizza this size, but I stopped at half through. This pizza wasn't good enough to push me beyond satisfied to that gluttonous enjoyment many other pizzas do. It worked out in the end. We needed gas on the way back to Lucas Oil stadium and were able to donate the left over Pizza (more than a full pie of combined left overs) to a very grateful homeless gentleman, who shared the pizza with 2 of his friends while we were filling up. They didn't appear to have any complaints and might even give it 5 stars. One final note, the root beer is stupendous and combined with the fries, the reason this is 3 stars instead of 2. read more

The hype is real! After hearing everyone's shouts of pure joy when King Dough gained a second location in Indy (first is in Bloomington), I couldn't help but check it out. I instantly fell in love with the funky exterior murals and the open concept - like it's completely open to the outside and has an awesome outdoor seating area too. I'm sure it closes in the winter, but it sure is celebratory in nice weather. We checked out other reviews and settled on sharing a Greco Salad and Gorgonzola and Grape pizza (yes, GRAPES). No, not grape tomatoes, not a fancy word for a spice, but actual grapes. And it was delicious. It had arugula and gorgonzola and other cheeses I believe too. It was my first time ever getting gluten-free crust and it was DELICIOUS. Like I would never have known it was gluten-free. Cough cough, should I just start ordering gluten-free all the time then if it's that good?! The Greco Salad had delicious cheese, but the tomatoes were a bit spicy (or maybe they weren't tomatoes and that's why I was surprised?). Regardless - just know that! Delicious all around with great service! The building itself is so inviting! As soon as I turned the corner I couldn't wait to get inside. We arrived at 11:45 (right after opening at 11:30) on a Saturday and it got busy quickly. We stared with the potatoes bravas and hot sesame wings. The potatoes came out under cooked and the kitchen quickly corrected it and gave us a fresh batch. I greatly appreciated that. Even after having them cooked well the potatoes were not my thing. I just didn't care for the flavors. The wings on the other hand I really enjoyed. They were cooked very well and I would get them again. The Destroyer is their top seeing pizza but my friend and I really wanted to try the grape and Gorgonzola pizza. It did not disappoint! No wonder they're called King Dough. Follow their instagram page for specials--they can be so creative with their pizzas! King Dough is in the Holy Cross neighborhood immediately east of downtown. Inside, they have a bar area with stool seating as well as larger table seating. During warmer months, their patio is open. The interior decor is clean and fun--even the bathroom has graffiti art. A free small parking lot and some street parking is available as well as a rack for the Pacers bikeshare. As of April 2022, masks were not required for patrons, but staff did have them on. read more

Fantastic meal! I ordered a ton of food and loved most of it! The cauliflower wings and fries were awesome appetizers. The hot sesame sauce was a great dipping sauce on the side. Very welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff. Felt like a chill and laidback vibe. Felt like college but adult lol. Heard they have a place in Bloomington which makes sense for the vibe. They have a good amount of seating when you first walk in, long table seating available for groups. Also, there's like a open view station where the pizza connoisseurs whip things up right when you walk in. Might even be convenient for to go orders. There's also bar seating near the back where we sat. There's classic action movie art, like "Terminator 2" and "Big Trouble in Little China" decorated towards the top of the walls, which was dope since those are my faves. Me and my girl got a pepperoni pizza. And it was pretty damn tasty. I did like the toasted texture of the dough, good ratios of cheese and pepp. They even have this spicy honey that you can drizzle on it that added a nice kick to it! They seemed to have had a decent drink list, especially for folks who like beer. There's also some cocktail and wine selections that were available. I got the Rose Pinot Noir, which was really smooth. Overall, would definitely come back for the chill ness and slices. Side note- not sure about the parking aspect on a busy day. Based on the reviews of others I was prepared for slow or poor service but upon arriving we were promptly seated, greeted and told about specials. Our server Sam was fun and gave helpful food and drink tips. We were there rather early but I was still pleased! The atmosphere was open and yet quaint with a redone garage feel allowing for openness to the main space in the warmer months. The tables were wood and comfortably large for such a hipster spot. I tried a raspberry sour at the recommendation of the server, and I was pleasantly surprised by the light flavor. Our friends got the cesear salad which was huge and very flavorful with plenty of crotons and chicken chunks. My husband had the special which was a delectable vegan pesto pasta with tomatoes. Super yummy sauce! I must admit to stealing a bit of his as the flavors were bold and very garlicky. The sauce was ample so you could dunk your pizza. Rusts in there (which I did). Highly recommend this special! A bit too much garlic for my husbands tastes but I loved it. My food of choice was the vegan pile pizza with cashew ricotta. I wasn't sure what to expect but between the perfect Dough, the olive flavors on top of arugula and tomatoes it was ideal. We finished it all! Came here with my fiancé for the for first time a slow rainy Saturday night. Heard good things about it and we wanted to like the place but it just wasn't it. Our server wasn't the friendliest, and she avoided us most of the time. Our pizza had been forgotten to be rang up and we ended up waiting 50 minutes for a super burnt pizza. Struggling to decide on an appropriate rating. My husband and I came on Valentine's Day and although they don't take reservations we were able to use the yelp check in service for virtually no wait. We were seated within 5 minutes and the waitress was very helpful with drinks. From the time we got our drinks to the time the pizza arrived, our waitress did not check in once with us. It went a little downhill from there. Keeping in mind it was a Friday evening (Valentines to say the least) we expected it to be busy, but we waited 2 hours for our pizza to come. By the time we got the pizza we had to pay the bill and eat it quick to get to a performance (partly our fault for thinking we would have enough time) so we didn't get to fully enjoy the pizza. With that being said, the pizza was absolutely delicious and unlike any pizza I've had before. The crust was the perfect thickness and done well. Who would have guessed that arugula and grapes are delicious on a pizza. Certainly not I, but I challenge you to try it. I would go back to give it another try since the pizza was so delicious; however, if the wait and service is the same that will probably be my last go. read more

I picked up a Grape and Gorgonzola pizza to take back to the office for a coworkers birthday. It was a pretty easy process over all for a carry out order. Parking was a little tricky because it was busy. I parked across the street and walked but that was not a problem. We split the pizza between the two of us and it was just enough. The flavor was really good but I wish there were more toppings (see picture I posted). It seemed like they only put the cheese right in the middle and there was no cheese anywhere else on the pizza. I ordered it because of all of the positive reviews on Yelp. I will definitely come back when I am able to stay and eat there. We weren't impressed with the pizza here. The sauce is really average and reminds me of sweet spaghetti o's sauce. The first pizza we ordered is one of their specialty pizzas that apparently is one of their most popular. It had a mix of interesting flavors but they just didn't quite come together the way I was hoping. There was a bit too much honey which made it overly sweet and too much rosemary overpowered the other flavors. Because we didn't love our first pie we ordered a basic pepperoni with basil. This somewhat made up for the first but it still wasn't anything I'd return for. Nothing special or cool about the atmosphere and it was extremely cold inside. As we continue to explore new places to eat King Dough was next. We sat outside, theres 6 tables to choose from. Their inside is pretty small I can see that being tough in the winter time to dine in there. I love that they have the bikes in front of the restaurant next time I'll rent a bike and ride over. We kind of pigged out on the food because we wanted to try all their vegetarian options, which they have a lot!!! Everything was AMAZING even the $8.50 Thai side salad. This was our second time having King Dough and we love it! They serve true, woodfired pizza and have a great menu of beers, wines, and cocktails to go along with it. We visited on a Saturday night and were able to be seated right away. The building appears to be an awesome repurposing of an old space and our service was great. They have an outside seating area and fire place that would be perfect during the warmer months. We started with the shop salad which was fresh, well tossed, and a notably great salad amongst our whole party. I had the good time cocktail and thought it was perfectly light and refreshing. We also had the destroyer pizza and a margherita pizza with mushrooms. The pizzas were awesome and served very quickly. The menu has some very unique pizza options, which we look forward to trying over more visits, but they also seemed very accommodating to any other pizza requests. I had heard good things about the pizza from here so decided to try it on our venture downtown. Their dining is only open 25% but we were lucky enough to grab a table. Temperature checks at the door, have to keep your mask on pretty much at all times unless you're eating or drinking. Servers will ask to put your mask on before delivering food/taking orders. My only issue with that is once we got our food, we didn't really get checked on again because I don't think anyone wants to tell you to put your mask on mid bite of pizza to see how everything is. There is a 15% gratuity added to each bill due to the low capacity they are operating at. Pizza was average. We got a Margherita pizza and a small salad to share. Portions were good. Small salad was able to be split between two and we shared a pizza. I felt like the edges of the pizza were a little too toasted for my liking. read more
