    Gyro plate

Best thing about King Gyros is the consistency. You always know what you're going to get. From the burger to the gyro plate.. great food cheap.

My gyro platter. I took this photo while seated in the driver's seat.

I'm the only one in the family who loves authentic gyros, so I came here alone through the drive-thru two days ago. (Right now that is the only thing open during this covid pandemic as the dining area is closed). It was 8:42pm, the place closes at 9pm daily, and there was a long line. That's a good sign. I could see at least six people hustling in the kitchen preparing orders. I agree with reviewers who say the place looks old and in dire need of an upgrade. It wouldn't be my first choice if driving through town for the first time. It does offer hamburgers and hot dogs for those who do not like gyros. I ordered a gyro platter for $12. It comes with two pitas, a hefty portion of meat, tomatoes, feta and onion, and fries. Tsatziki sauce comes in a small covered container. I ended up getting three meals out of that, by far one of the best deals in the area. Meat and pita were soft. The feta was cut in rather large cubes and I prefer feta crumbled, but that is a minor complaint. I'm now more curious to try the other King Gyros in the area.

This place is amazing, I'm in Indiana for business and I stopped here the atmosphere is very welcoming, great place, wish there was one back home

This is one of valpos "hole in the wall" restaurants, as well as my favorite. Their food has never disappointed me in the 15 years that I've lived in this area. My favorite is the full slab of ribs with an extra side of fries and BBQ sauce. They're tender fall off the bone, full of flavor, and have probably the one of the best BBQ sauces in town. On top of that the service is awesome. The cahsiers are always sweet and their cooks are always working hard back there.

Quick stop for only a Chicago dog, nothing else. Three bucks and change can't beat that. Italian beef will be the next try.

This was the first time I tried King Gyros. I was pleasantly surprised by variety of menu options & decided to try my favorite, spinach pie. It was dry for a quick service restaurant.

In town visiting for the week and had to stop in at King Gyros. What a great value. Earlier this week had their gyros sandwich - incredible. Today I stopped in and got two hot dogs, a Chicago style dog and a chili dog with onions. They were great and only $6. Would've been $12 in San Diego. Great food, friendly people.

An amazing restaurant with great quality and you never leave hungry!

Arguably the best gyro in the region. Hefty portions of meat and feta. Pita was soft and fresh.

Spot on service and very polite, friendly and fast! The decor is tranquil like your sitting outside at a table enjoying a meal home cooked by YiaYia! The kids menu was perfect even though we didn't order from it. We were there for lunch and the appetizers are enough for two people. The olive oil is so fragrant, the bread is fresh baked and amazing. I wish I would've tried the stuffed pepper soup, but Avgolemono is my favorite. I just wish they had a generous bowl of Youvetzi that was flavored with lamb shank!!! It's my go to Greek comfort food - My YiaYia's was the best! I will have to return to sample their desserts! I hope my favorite is on the menu... Galaktoboureko!

The floor was very slippery around our table and for someone unsure of their step, this made me very nervous. Started with saganaki and lemon soup. I had the special - Youvarelakia - which are the herbed meatballs in lemon sauce. The meat was "very herb-y" to the point of almost overwhelming the meat taste. Once again, the sauce was too think for my liking. Husband had the Youvetsi and thought it was delicious. We both brought leftovers home

There is a monstrous screen behind the bar for sports, but they mostly show videos of Greece, but they are mesmerizing videos of a beautiful country. It's a cleaner version of Dengeo's. And, dare I say, better version. Except for their avgolemeno soup. Such a weak travesty. Please fix this. It's just a watery mess. However, everything else is delicious. I ordered the Greek Chicken with their lemon-butter rice. They debone the chicken and serve atop a mountain of their rice. If also had their potatoes (which are good) but the rice is magical. The first time we went, they had a serve yourself soda fountain and they since got rid of it and sell soda in bottles and cans. They do still have a self-serve water station. Once you order, staff will bring to your table, so please tip when you order or leave on the table as they do come by and clear your table as well. It is first come first served and you grab your own tables. I've been there on weekends and weeknights and they get pretty packed. The food is flavorful and quite tasty. The portions are huge so you're definitely going to bring something home. Nostimo is now in our rotation of places to go in a pinch and they do have an outdoor seating area, too.

Since there was a total of 11 and the seating is first come first serve, we decided to call to see if they had reservations. They did take our name and reserved a table. When we arrived we noticed a table was reserved and we were informed that it was our table. We sat and looked over the menus. When we were ready my 2 boys and I went up to place our order. My one son has major allergies so we spoke to the chef and he came back out to recommend the dishes he can have. It was great that he did so and gave us confidence that my son would be able to eat without worrying too much about the ingredients. I ordered the Shrimp Kalamakia with a side of the Greek Rice. My son with the allergies ordered the Pork Kalamakia with Greek Rice and no pita, my other son ordered the Traditional Pork Gyro with Greek Rice. The sides we ordered: Saganaki Fritters and Spanakopitakia. My son that ordered the Pork Kalamakia devoured it. He said it was tender and juicy and probably could have eaten 4 skewers. My Shrimp Kalamakia was nicely charred and seasoned, I squeezed some lemon and it provided a nice tang over the seasoning. The Lemon rice pilaf was soft and cook just right and was nicely balanced. I had one Saganaki Ball and it was delicious. My son had the Pork Gyros said it was really good and the Tzatziki sauce was creamy and rich with flavors. My in-laws bought the table desserts and I got the Baklava and my wife got Loukoumades (Greek Donuts with Nutella) and both did not disappoint. I really loved the citrus honey syrup in the Baklava. The Loukoumades had a crispy shell and nice a fluffy on the inside and the Nutella amount was perfect. This place is very good and well worth the price in my opinion. I loved the fact that they took the time to make sure my son with allergies was safe.
