It's been a while since I visited a King Taco. It has to have been years. I was craving a burrito and we happened to be in the area, so we said let's try! I ordered a carne asada burrito and taco, but the meat was extremely tough and tasted old - as if it had been overcooked and sitting a while. Portion size was good and the salsa roja had heat, which I love. The cashier was really nice too and got our order out within minutes. My wife was born and raised in LA and introduced me to King Taco on one of our first dates. We have since made it a mission to try to visit all of their locations. This is my favorite location. The parking is convenient. In a lot around the block that offers 90 minutes of free parking. Seating is decent. There are two dining rooms that usually have available seats. The reason it's our favorite though is the food. The burrito and nachos are always packed with meat. Everything tastes fresh and the wait is usually pretty quick. We ordered this weekend, with a decent crowd, and had our food within 10 minutes. As a LA staple, I can't speak highly enough of King Taco. I cannot start by saying how amazing of an experience I had this morning (I always have a great experience here but today surpassed any other by far!) by the lovely ladies that attended us. The 3 beautiful ladies that were working from 10:00-11:00am Sunday May 31st are the absolute sweetest, the customer service I received was the best I've ever received in my life (surpassed any king taco by far). My food preparer was the best food preparer I have ever met. My food was perfectly prepped, not sloppy, nice and fresh, the perfect amount of everything and her customer service was even better. I didn't get her name but she was a younger, light complexion, tall woman. She was just amazing! Please give her a raise! She needs to be a manager! I have to say that the guys on the afternoon/evening shift are great as well, I can never ever complain about anything at this location, I always love the vibe, but I promise there's no one like this woman! If only every king taco was as awesome as this one. Food perfect, staff great, and her as a manager would add the cherry on top! This is truly the best king taco that I've been to!!! I've never eaten a taco at King Taco (vegetarianism), so I can't speak to tacos which is what most people get here obviously. What I will say is that the cheese jalapeño tamales are underrated. I'm always pleased at the flavor and texture of the tamales. I also love the horchata here, I don't know what brand it is or if they make it in-house, but it's really good. This location has a lot of seating and the service was quick when I went. Some employees only speak Spanish but it's easy to communicate with them, so it's not really an issue. read more

She invites me to the counter says "welcome" in a monotone voice and then proceeds to completely ignore me. I told her I wanted an all meet asada burrito with onions and cilantro with red sauce. I ordered 4 Toaco's and the attendant gave me 1 Hot Sauce. I had to buy 2 hot sauce at the price of .99 cents each little serving for me to enjoy. They said their Policy is 1 Hot Sauce per every 3 Tacos. That's not enough. That's a bad policy to charge more for sauce. I placed an online order on Friday 03-27-2026 around 7:47pm and went to the store here in Glendale King Taco #29 @ 117 E. Broadway. I ordered 1x chicken flauta, 1x sope, 3x taco (asada) and 2x tamal sweet. When I got to the store, the guy at the pick up counter told me that they just ran out of the tamal sweet. So I said to just cancel the tamal. I thought the other guy who stepped in was going to give me my refund but he just ended up talking to one of the cashiers. I didn't understand what they were talking about but I guess he was explaining to her that my order was placed online. When the cashier was available to speak with me, she told me that since I placed the order online that I would have to cancel the tamal order online as well as they can not give me a refund or cancel just the tamal. They would have to cancel my entire order. She toldme that I can cancel it online. I tried doing it at the store but I couldn't figure it out so I decided to just go home and figure it out there. But when I got home, there is no way that I could cancel the specific item that was not available let alone an option to edit or cancel my order. So I called the store, spoke to Bernice (i think is what she said) and told her that I can't cancel my order online. She put me on hold and said to wait as she tried to figure it out and look at her phone. She couldn't figure it out either and just referred me to contact customer service. Good food at a good price. The quality wasn't amazing, but it was solid. Ironically, I enjoyed the non-taco items at King Taco. I visited on New Year's Eve at 6 pm. There was a bit of a language barrier, as the cashier was more comfortable speaking Spanish, but I experienced zero issues with service. - Pork Tamale ($3.35). I wasn't impressed by the cracked appearance of my tamale. Fortunately, the masa was nice and moist. The shredded pork was flavorful, not too salty and appropriately sauced. It didn't need anything else, but the salsas enhanced it. King Taco's tamale ranked high for me across the tamales from various food trucks/stands and restaurants I've had in in the past. - Chicken Flautas ($8.50 - 4 pcs). The flautas were just alright, but the toppings were somehow amazing. I'm not sure what cheese was used, but it tasted extremely cheesy! The crema was good too. Lettuce and guacamole added freshness. I eagerly scooped the extra toppings onto my tamale. - Carnitas and Suadero Tacos ($2.14 each). I would probably pass on the tacos at King Taco lol. The tacos were served street style: two small corn tortillas per taco topped with onion and cilantro. The tortillas tasted a little sour, so they were not the freshest. As for the meat, the carnitas was just okay: tender, but not porky. The suadero meat was hard, as most of the fat rendered out, yet tasted great - very beefy. - Quesadilla with Suadero ($6.99). The quesadilla was a little dry, but I appreciated how it was not oily on the outside. I enjoyed the layers of the flour tortilla. All of the house salsas were delicious! The green sauce was like a tomatillo salsa with a lot of citrus flavor, which made it special. The red sauce was like a spicy chipotle based salsa. In the end, half of the ingredients I named didn't even make it inside the burrito. I like king taco and go there regularly but this is the second time ordering a chimichanga from the Glendale location and finding a toothpick within the chimichanga. First time it happened the worker said oh it's how they keep it together and no refund just oh sorry but I wasn't going to trip. This time was ridiculous and dangerous. In the first half I bit into a toothpick and I let the staff know. I wasn't going to be upset and let the situation slide. Then after continuing to eat, I felt something hard going down my esophagus. It felt wrong. So I looked through the second half and I found another full toothpick. I showed the manager and all he told me was oh "all I can do is refund you" and I started to tell him I think I also swallowed one... and asked for bathroom code so I can try and throw it up. That fact I had to force myself to throwing up the food and then finding the toothpick I swallowed was mortifying... my throat is irritated from the toothpick originally going down and it could have made my GI bleed all cause they weren't careful. If it was one then it would be able to call the incident an accident but 3 in one seems almost intentional... I will probably stop going to this location... but this event is not a one time event so something needs to change in terms on procedures. And concern for the guest who consume this.
