I'm not certain what the draw to this food chain is but decided to give it a try after it was recommended. I ordered 2 carne asada tacos that came with cilantro and onion. I asked for their mild (green roasted) salsa which came in a 3 oz container. Both the tacos and salsa were disappointing in flavor. I am convinced that the red salsa is a mixture of hot sauces such as Valentina and Tapatío. I find it odd that pico de gallo wasn't even an option. The guacamole came at an extra price and it wasn't anything spectacular. At this location you have to ask for everything: an extra plate, napkins, utensils, etc. The pineapple agua fresca was good and I'd say this was the highlight for me. Service was much better this time, but normally the workers are a bit cold here in Glendale. I can deal with the chill factor, but keep the rudeness to yourselves! As I previously mentioned, this time the customer service was fine. I always order the all meat (carne asada) burrito with cilantro and onions and extra, extra red sauce. I always double up on the salsa, because I already know I'm not getting an extra-extra! It seems King Taco has grown to be very tight when it comes to giving anything extra away without a price tag attached. For the amount of money I spend on one burrito (almost $10 now!), you would think a 2oz salsa would be a bonus! Anyway, the carne asada (meat) is always delicious and seasoned to perfection! They do have various meat choices, but this is my top choice and always has been. Did not include limes though, and I did not see any of the misc items like pickled onions, radishes and all that other stuff that you'd normally see for grabs at a taco place. People in the reviews are complaining about prices being raised but that's literally everywhere now. Gone are the days of $1 tacos. $2-2.5 is the new norm it seems like. Inside it's wasn't dirty or anything (saw some other reviews mention) but being in downtown Glendale it could definitely use a touch up. I can't tell if its because of Glendale or the older chains are just clearly better as in taste of food and ambiance. If you want relatively quick and something convenient, it's a reliable spot to go to This location is pretty big since it has an additional dining room on the side, so it's great for big groups. It's also situated in Glendale, so it's a good spot to refuel after a day of shopping in the area I got a quesadilla and sope (both without meat). Compared to the ones in LA, Pasadena, and Long Beach, the meat here just seemed drier and less flavorful. If you are in the area, you may be better off going to Chipotle... or do it right and go further away from the Americana and hit TRUE local spots like El Tap or El Sauz... or food trucks... or even (and I hate to say it) at the Americana.
