I asked for a chicken burrito without onions, without lettuce, without tomatoes, without cilantro. After I paid, I noticed the receipt said: no onion, with rice, with beans, red salsa. I let the cashier know k had asked for the burrito with no onion, no tomatoes, no lettuce and no cilantro. The cashier stated the burrito didn't have any tomatoes or lettuce. First time trying this place out and tbh I was not liking my order. Won't be returning. I had the saudero taco - which is veeryyy small. And the crane asada nachos. Was not too impressed with the taste. I was so disappointed. The nachos chips didn't taste fresh and it was like fake cheese. So blah. I did not like it. They didn't even include thóse pickles radish or peppers. My boo had a quesadilla and a burrito. He said the burrito was spicy but he didn't order anything of spice in it. The carne asada tacos are great, but be aware that the tacos here are small because they're only $1 each. They're the perfect size for babies. For an adult, you probably want to order 6 of them for a normal sized meal. I would not recommend ordering tacos with chicken. Their chicken comes in a jalapeño wet sauce. The tacos are wrapped in foil and so the wet sauce (and being wrapped in foil) makes the tortillas soggy to the point where they will deteriorate in your hand resulting in a wet, drippy mess. A fork is definitely needed. The horchata are good and not overly sweet. The service is terrible. We've been to this location twice and both times they've messed up our order. Be careful and check your order before leaving. They will forget to give you your entire order. They will give you the wrong tacos. They will put salsa on tacos when you don't want it, and put salsa on tacos when you didn't want it. We didn't even have large or difficult orders. There is just a serious lack of competency in the kitchen. read more

COVID-19 Takeout Warning There is NO point in calling in an order! I had a large order and I wanted to avoid having to wait around inside the restaurant especially during COVID-19. So I called my order ahead. I asked how long it would be, they said 15 minutes. Ok great! So I timed my route and everything so I could get there exactly on time, pay, pick up my order, and get out of there. But nope! When I arrived, I was literally the only customer there. They confirmed it was me that ordered ahead. Then I paid and proceeded to wait almost 30 minutes for my order. THEY START MAKING YOUR ORDER AFTER YOU PAY IN THE STORE! What even is the point of taking phone orders then?! Why do they not tell you this over the phone!? Not only that, as I was waiting more and more customers came in. I counted 3 customer groups that came in after me leave with their food before my order was ready. I mean, if you're going to waste my time in this way at least prepare the orders in the order of when the customers came in! The food is amazing! but if you get unlucky and come here when it's busy, be ready for a frustrating experience. Lines are long, slow, and you'll see a lot of people waiting at tables for food. I'm sitting inside this King Taco now for almost 60 minutes, still have not had my number called and there are quite a few people who were in front of me still waiting. I can hear customers complaining that the tables haven't been cleaned. Owners of King Taco, please please update the way these places are run. Switch to build to order, and avoid this double wait times. This is not an efficient system at all, and the food is so good, but at this moment, I'm wondering how loyal I can actually stay. Also, when I order extra meat on my burrito, sometimes it comes out amazing, sometimes it's skimpy and it feels like I wasted my money. Consistency would be much appreciated. This king taco has bad customer service. We ordered some tamales and they said they were sold out. The manager stated that they usually say that they are sold out because the tamales are frozen and take 1 1/2 hours to heat up and they couldn't sell them unless it was by the dozen. I ended up placing an order for my family and my self. I ordered a chimichanga and while I was eating it I chewed on a piece to toothpick and ended up hurting my tooth. As I continued to eat, I chewed on another piece of toothpick and hurt my gum. My husband told the manager and the manager stated that people in the kitchen are responsible to check that there is no toothpicks before serving, he also stated that he will talk to the people in the kitchen and that was basically all he can do. Awful service and wait time. Had forgotten to post months ago and let it go until a second incident was done to my boss and our lunches. Back in July for the Glendale Cruise Night, stopped in for 4 skimpy soggy tacos and agua de melon to-go. Took 40 min to get my drink and another 10 for my tacos. Place wasn't full, and there was 3 other ppl ahead of me waiting for their food to-go as well. Apparently a friend of the cashier/ food handler came in and placed a big order with his friends.They proceeded to make his food first and stood in the food area telling his worker friends what to add to his food, like cheese, cream, guacamole, things he hadn't payed extra for. Kept carrying platefulls back to his table and coming back to ask for extra this, more of that. Then says thanks to his worker friends and fist bumps them before going to his table. There was at least 4 or 5 front end employees. Why did they all need to cater to these moochers and not hand food out to customers who had ordered way before they arrived? When they finally gave me my order, didn't ask me if I wanted sauce, no napkins anywhere. What a disorganized, awful and selective service this place provides. I know this post is long but honestly if you're going to spend your money for tacos in Glendale, go elsewhere where they appreciate your business, try El Sauz, Taco Azteca, Tacos El Trebol outside Vons on Loz Feliz. I feel bad only giving 3 stars. The east Los Angeles location is pretty good, way better than this place.. but I still don't understand the hype. King taco is only good at 2 am after drinking. Case and point.. The picture includes how I received my chicken quasadilla. I hadn't taken a bit yet so this is pretty close to how I actually received the meal. They should wrap in aluminum (just like they do the burritos) so it stays composed... this was a nightmare to eat. Additionally, the cheese wasn't even all the way melted and the tortilla as you can see looks pretty plain. The tortilla should have some color to it.. cheese should be melted.. and my hands shouldn't be SOPPING WET after eating a quasadilla. Where else do you order a quasadilla and you have puddles of liquid on your plate after? This was luke warm, messy, and pretty bland. If it wasn't for their worker Flor this business would not thrive. The people distributing the food are angry and rude. FLOR is the only person that handles the food and customers with attention and care. She's quick and easy going and handles customers with nothing but kindness and exceptional service. Hopefully her coworkers learn something from her or hopefully they can get new staff that works just as well. King Taco has been one of those go to places when you can't decide on what to eat. I've always been a fan since college days because of their infamous spicy red salsa. I remember when I first tried (weak tolerance to spice back then) I cringed at the burn but now it's just the right kick. I always go for a mixture of carne asada and al pastor tacos or sopes. Sometimes the carne asada is a bit dry but the pastor seems to be the most consistent in delivering the juicy flavor. This location is huge compared to their other locations with plenty of seating and a free 90 min parking structure just north of the restaurant itself. I agree with the others who say King Taco #29 sucks compared to the others in ELA/Cypress park. I've given this place three chances and have been equally disappointed each time. The burrito de asada is always 80% rice. The flavor of the asada and pastor is as sub-par. Idk if the owner of this franchise has instructed the line cooks to skimp on the portions or use more rice in burritos to cut costs, but this location is giving King Taco a bad name. Staff is friendly and hospitable, the one star is for the ownership/manager who has chosen quantity over quality. Never coming to King Taco #29 again. None of the workers here speak any English. It took 20 minutes to order because the cashier did not understand what we wanted even though we said it in plain ENGLISH and she still messed up the order. We said 1 asada sopes and she gave 6 and charged for 6. Even the survey on the receipt is in Spanish. The cashier also gave an attitude when we did not understand what she was saying and respectfully told her we do not speak Spanish. I understand this is a Mexican food establishment, but the number 1 spoken language in the area they serve in is English, so I would suggest hiring English speaking workers to better service the public.
