My friend and I went to CicLAmini yesterday and much to her surprise, there was a King Taco on the route! This was our first time at this location and pretty much no complaints like the other one we usually go to. Fair prices, good tacos, clean restaurant. Pretty much sums up the location if you want to stop reading. King Taco offers rotisserie chicken from Friday to Sunday, so this was perfect for me since I'm staying away from carbs. I ordered a half size which came with a side of rice, beans, and 2 corn tortillas (the medium sized ones). Crispy flavorful skin, but extremely dry breast.. That's chicken breast no matter what though. I did take a small bite of rice just to try it and it was standard/good. Nothing special, nothing bad either. Beans were alright, but I'm not a big on beans. My friend ordered 4 tacos as well. She inhaled them, so I'm guessing they were good! I had a bite of some suadero and it was definitely tasty. Asada Taco's best of the best. In this day and age when prices are slightly rising and everything is changing, the taste of the tacos is one of the best. The unique hot sauce taste and flavor are completely different from other tacos. Sope costs twice as much as tacos, but today it tasted and looked terrible and there was no cabbage. My favorite taco spot in k town that isn't a taco truck! One of the many things I love about King Taco is that it no matter which one you go to it feels familiar and delicious! This location does a great job of replicating all those good feelings. The ambiance and service is always top notch! Even when there are long lines, your order will come out relatively quickly. The food itself is amazing! I always get their nachos with chicken with tinga! I don't know what that means, just try it! It's delicious sauce stuff! Their steak and al pastor are legit good! This particular King Taco is next to my old elementary school. First, the cashier seemed to be in a bad mood. She wasn't very welcoming. Then, the food. The pork tamale was dry and salty, the carne asada dry and flavorless. You can get cilantro or onions on their own because they are mixed together so if you dislike either, tough luck. No limes are available for the dry meat. Want napkins or utensils? You'll have to ask for them and be given an attitude for daring to ask. Ugh, what a disappointment. read more

I went Friday night to order 2 CARNE ASADA burritos & 2tacos and I expected to receive just that because that is the exact order I gave the young lady who helped me. Instead i received a vegetarian burrito with only RICE and EXTRA beans. The most ironic thing about the order is both of my burrito I expected to receive I asked for NO beans. My thoughts were to sample my favorite Al Pastor ( and some new finds) at every taquearía, taco stand, taco truck and restaurant I encountered as I could. First up was King Taco. Located in Pico Union, this restaurant has a bright roomy interior, a juke box, a security guard and long lines but it moves fast. Each taco was 2.45 which is how it should be and I say this because I've been to places charging as much as 6.50 per taco which is so unfair for street food. My friend prefers burritos and got a nice big one stuffed with chicken, rice and beans for like 8.00 while my three tacos came to about 7.60 with tax. The tacos were good. Meat was flavorful and included sautéed onions as well as cilantro and onion garnish but no pineapple. Not in the garnish or flavor profile. Salsa verde was tasty and spicy but came in the smallest container ever. read more

I was there on 03/13/2026 like around 10pm and there was barely 6 people. The burritos are overpriced for what they serve. They dont put any meat and lots of rice and beans.There burritos have greatly downgraded. This place has the ambiance and charm of a prison cafeteria. When we arrived at 3:30 pm on a Sunday, there was a long line of people waiting to place their order. We stood in line about 20 minutes to order, then another 20-30 minutes for our food. As mentioned in other reviews, they call out the order numbers in Spanish, so we were listening for a number that ended in "quatro." (I am supposed to be learning basic Spanish for a trip to Spain this Summer. I haven't gotten very far.) We split a Carne Asada Quesadilla, which was good. It had a bit of a sour taste to me, like it had sour cream on it or something--it didn't--but I just got over COVID, so my tastebuds might not be 100%. We ordered two tacos each of the chicken, Al pastor, carnitas, and carne asada, and ate the Al pastor and carnitas tacos there. The Al pastor tacos were good, but my carnitas taco had only one big chunk of tasteless pork and some onions and cilantro. No bueno. The salsa is good, but not plentiful, as many have mentioned. Boyfriend bought a container of red sauce for $6 that was about the size of a child's sippy cup. There is only one bathroom and you have to enter a key code if you aren't waiting in line. The bathroom was clean enough, but the toilet had flushing issues: sometimes it would flush, sometimes not. Honestly, the food is just average in my opinion. You can get better tacos, especially carnitas, at hundreds of places all over LA. My favorite food truck loads up the carnitas tacos with wonderful shredded meat; I missed those so much today. I really did not like this place, but boyfriend loves it, for some reason. It is in a very sketchy area, hence the need for a security guard. We parked on the street as the tiny parking lot was full, and as we were driving, a half-naked woman who appeared to be high on drugs wandered out into the street in front of our car. Lovely. The tacos are as simple as they get; seasoned meat (lime and salt?), diced onions and cilantro inside 2 small corn tortillas. Tacos are $2.09 each now and no sign of special meats like sweetbreads from the past. I got the Al pastor and asada. The asada was particularly bland and dry, like the meat had been boiled. Their red salsa is the best, and of course their carne asada tacos and burrito was super tasty. It was just a little disappointing because they seem to be slimping on the salsa a little bit. I wish they would bottle their salsa, or offer to sell it in a large cup. I would definitely buy that. Instead, they will sell the small individual salsa cups for a dollar. Also, I ordered their carne loaded asada nachos and to go. When i got home, there was just cheese and carne asada. There was no onions l, cilantro, jalapenos or shredded cheese.
