Had to try Chinese style food in Kihei. It's pretty good , just a tad bit oily on the char siu plate and the beef chow funn. Also the egg roll was probably not homemade. The lady was nice . They spoke Mandarin as well. Had nice music in the background. Very casual outdoor seating. I think we will try the other food items next time. It had a lot of vacationers coming to place orders and also some locals as well. Food was good! Highlight was the loco moco for us. Big portions for a good price; we split two dishes with the three of us. Mixed plate which has chicken katsu, loco moco with egg, pork and mac salad. And a roast duck plate. The roast duck was a little on the drier side but still enjoyed the flavor. Immediately 1 minute after sitting down we were greeted, and our order was taken within 3 minutes of us getting there. Huge portion, low price, and alright taste. We stayed around S Kihei so hung out in the area quite a lot and King's was one of the few restaurants that actually opened later. Their foods were mostly below $15 with a variety of options. It was not the best tasting, but at the same time, not bad. The portion was shockingly large lol. Chao Fun was a lot, a little more on a blander side. A solid option is Tonkatsu (can't go wrong with that) which comes with rice and macaroni salad. The couple selling was very efficient and nice. They are a few outdoor settings. All in all, I would not say add King's to your list, but maybe a choice if you have nothing to eat late at night read more

We came here because Paia Fish Market had an enormous line and ONLY white people eating inside. Kings seemed to cater to more local types. The plate we ordered though was not that great. We got the shrimp and kalbi combo and the shrimp was dry and kalbi was hella thin and on the tougher side. The fried garlic sitting next to the shrimp was delish though, as was the rice and mac salad. If you're thinking of getting bbq from a dive I would recommend doing more research. read more

Don't even bother with place. Order the crispy wontons only find that they gave me gau gee. Took one bite and spit it out. The meat was all mushy and tasted like crap. Woke up sick the next morning and had to go urgent care cause had a severe rash all over my back stomach and legs. Dr said it was food poisoning and they probably use MSG. Do yourself a favor and don't go here. Update: called the place and the lady was a flat out rude bit*h. Called to let them know what happened and that the urgent care cost $300. Her response was I don't care. My workers eat and they no get sick. So sorry but get lost. Told her I'm contacting the health department. Her response was sorry don't care FU. In addition while my son and I were waiting on our order we watched one work cleaning up the outside trash cans and recycling then walk back into the kitchen and proceed to cook without washing their hands and one worker sitting in the back peeling what looked like onions over a trash can with no gloves and watched reach in there cause he would drop them and pull them out. Mistakenly came here thinking this was a western BBQ joint (which is just around the corner) This location is conveniently located across the street from the park and is an easy walk up. There are several other restaurants close by as well. We ordered some typical dishes and the fare was as expected. The Korean short ribs were shorter than usual. They are usually served having three bones. But this establishment was serving them shorter with only two bone lengths. Meaning the expectation fell short versus the cost. The taste was a Kalbi flavored rib. However, I felt there wasn't a pear flavor presence as much as there should be with Kalbi. I may be spoiled in that I marinade my Kalbi at home for at least 24 hours. So flavor really pops. Also I live in the Bay Area, CA where high taste foods are very accessible and expected. The Chicken tasted good and we felt a good quality and quantity. The teriyaki flavor was good and it was well cooked. I think the skin was still on it which added to the yummi-ness. The Beef tasted good. The quantity could have been slightly more but it was fine. I think it was oven cooked versus over a fire which is my preference. It is more cost effective to use the oven tho. I love this place. Growing up on chinese take out, a place like this is nostalgic and would be a place i'd eat at at least once a week. The best part about this place is that it's a Hawaiian/Chinese fusion restaurant. The value for your dollar here is unmatched and you'll know it as soon as you are handed your food. The portions are big and will satisfy most appetites. My favorite part is every entree has two scoops of rice and one scoop of mac salad. Yep...mac salad has entered the chat. Having been here several times over several trips to Maui, my favorites is their Kung Pao Chicken and walnut shrimp. I've tried or seen almost everything on their menu when I came here with a large group and our orders spanned most of their menu. I ordered their best so called house fried rice and it was literally the worst fried rice I've had ($14.34 + tip). Food here is authentic and tasty. While the place is a dump, they are timely in producing meals even when busy. Did I mention the picnic table out front for dining?! It's dirty and frequently occupied. We do takeout here, and like it as that alone. Eat your meals elsewhere, pickup is at the door, you don't have to go inside but can see it's also dumpy-looking in there. The takeaway containers are compostable and soak-thru in time so you won't be able to save leftovers in them. Large portions here. read more

We came here on a weekend evening and were served very quickly. I ordered the mini garlic chicken plate and my partner ordered the mini short ribs plate. Food was solid and cooked well. It was fresh and made to order. The garlic chicken had a solid garlic chicken flavor but the only thing it was missing was some veggies. The short ribs were also solid with all the right flavors but the meat was a little hard because it was cooked longer but it was still good. The mini plates were portioned well and the food came out fresh and warm. The seating is mainly picnic style tables and there are at least 5-7 tables but the place has no windows or walls so there were the typical Hawaii bugs around. We still enjoyed our food and appreciate that it seems to be run by a local family who are patient and helpful with their service. Their menu is huge and the prices are very reasonable. We also got the walnut shrimp which was ok (I would not order again) and the seafood platter which was fried shrimp, scallops (I think only 2 scallops) and fish. It was yummy.
