Man oh man, fabulous! You are in for a treat here. I've only ordered the jerk chicken and it is full of flavor. It has a kick for those who don't do spice well. My partner tried it (his family is Jamaican) and agreed how delicious it was. The portion size is decent. I feel a bit bias because I'm pregnant and always want more chicken. Make sure to order your patties and coco bread! They are quick too. You can expect your meal to be ready in about ten- fifteen minutes if that! The vibes are right and we will definitely be back (already have gone back to back weekends).

This place is absolutely amazing. I tried the Curry Chicken and a little bit if Oxtail with a Tropical Rhythms juice and I was floored by how incredible every single thing was. The curry chicken is tender and flavorful. This is a picture of the "small" portion. This is easily two meals for me. It's the best chicken dish I've had in longer than I can remember. The oxtail just falls off the bone and melts in your mouth. Braised to perfection, seasoned so well I'm probably going to dream about it tonight. The veggies and rice and plantains: Holy crap. I don't even like rice and I am going to clean my plate (eventually after getting through the leftovers. Seriously, the portions are huge!) Finally, the owner is such a kind, funny, awesome dude! And he makes a damn fine punch! Don't sleep on this place, you HAVE to try it

Best Jamaican food I have ever had in my life. I'll be back many times. If you ever open up a brick and mortar restaurant that would be amazing!

Why haven't you ate here yet is the real question. The food is on point!! Everything is homemade and you can tell. Never had a chicken patty before...let's just say I had to buy another one before I pulled off. Will probably be back every weekend cause why not?!

It's our first time to try this place. It smells delicious. I had the small jerk chicken. It was delicious!! Ask for the hot pepper sauce from Jamaica... it really adds to the flavor!

Pretty good serving for the price. The plantains were done well, but the jerk chicken wasn't as fall off the bone tender as I wished. I also wasn't a huge fan of the jerk chicken seasoning. It was more on the spicier side than flavorful side.

Located in a very shady food truck park. The food was superb and priced very well. I had the curried goat and it was amazing. Also loved the plantains and Jamaican soda. Perfect spot with lots of shade too.

It was my first time trying Jamaican food and oh my goodness it was delicious! I ordered the large portion of the Jerk Chicken meal. It is so flavorful and has a nice kick to it without it being overwhelming. It came with rice and peas, fried plantains and steamed veggies (cabbage, carrot, etc.) I definitely would order from here again. The man helping me called me sweetheart which made me feel special

I've been looking for good Jamaican chicken for the longest & I've tried 2 other places in Austin but this is my new favorite! I found it by a quick search and saw how close it was to me and decided to stop by and try it after reading some reviews. The owner was wonderful and the food here is amazing! The jerk chicken was falling off the bone, the plantains were sweet and yummy, and the rice & peas were the best! I will definitely be coming here regularly now! Highly recommend!

I was so happy to see a new food truck opening near our neighborhood! I tried the jerk chicken meal and it was delicious. The chicken was so flavorful, tender and moist. The food came out piping hot and tasted fresh. The owners are super nice, I wasn't sure if the jerk chicken would be too spicy for my two year old daughter and they gave me a sample to try before ordering. My daughter loved it too and kept asking for more. Looking forward to trying other items on the menu!

I ended up ordering: Ceviche: I loved the ceviche! There were small chunks of dragonfruit in it, and the taro chips were perfectly crispy to go with the ceviche. Wild Boar Pepper Pot: Very rich, deep and flavorful tender boar, it just broke apart without the need f a knife. A bit on the heavy side, so I wish I had ordered a light vegetable to balance it out. Roti: the roti was perfect to go with the wild boar. I scooped up the tender boar with it, and also wiped the plate clean of the sauce. Coca-Cola: I was a little hungover so this was needed!

We thoroughly enjoyed the plantains, roti and fish. I did not expect the pepperpot to be sweet and more of a Chinese 5 spice flavour. I personally found it too sweet. We also ordered the flan de queso and rum raisin ice cream. We found the ice cream disappointing... the ice cream felt like a soft serve just topped with raisins and rum. My mum has always loved this flavour and she did not enjoy it too much. I personally love the tart lime and passionfruit flavour of the flan but the flan itself was so rich I felt I was eating a Philly cheese block but I could drink the syrup that was in the bowl

From speaking with Tony Jr. today, they also have a restaurant in Pflugerville. I ordered jerk chicken, which fell off the bones and came with cabbage, rice and peas and plantain. I have traveled to Jamaica a couple of times, this Jamaican food was the real deal. The jerk chicken was a bit spicey but not set your tongue on fire spicey. The rice and peas along with the cabbage was perfectly seasoned. The standout for me was the sweet plantain, spoken like a plantain connoisseur. The plantain was sweet on the inside and slightly charred on the outside...perfect combination. The only improvement would have been for me to get a side of plantain. My food was delivered fast and hot. Tony Jr. was super personable and friendly. There is seating in the center of the food truck park. You hear tunes being played in the background. The food truck park is at the core of East Austin in a semi-residential area. Street parking is available for diners. I look forward to trying curry goat and oxtails and more.

I went for a regular oxtail plate with gungo rice and plantains. Overall I liked it! The oxtail was tender and delicious, the sauce had a nice mix of smoke, sweetness, and a tiny bit of heat. For a regular (as opposed to their large) size plate it felt like a good amount of oxtail I thought based on the description the gungo rice would have a more prominent coconut taste but it was pretty typical Jamaican peas and rice. The star of the plate was the oxtail and the sides don't really factor into my review unless it really stands out in one direction or the other Overall I'd definitely recommend giving them a try and will absolutely be back here to try more of their menu

We decided to eat at Bikkle, close to the University of Texas at Austin on Guadalupe Street. Bikkle is known for its authentic Jamaican cuisine such as jerk chicken, oxtails (hard to find anywhere anymore) and curry goat. Between the four of us, we ordered jerk chicken, curry goat, and curry chicken. We all went for red beans and rice with cabbage. All dishes came with plantain, which is one of my favorites. Having been to Jamaica a couple of times, I can report out that this food is authentic! The flavors were swirls of goodness in every bite. The food was also warm when served. We also ordered jerk chicken egg rolls. Just think about that concept for a minute. The jerk chicken egg rolls were exceptionally good. The highlight for me was the curry goat. First, you do not find goats on many menus. The curry goat was tender and oh so flavorful. Some pieces had associated fat. All in all, everyone was happy with their meals. During our dinner, only one person was serving customers. She was super friendly and personable. I must think she was overworked as the stream of customers came in. Now for the décor...if you walked in and looked only at the counter, you would have thought it was a "to go" restaurant only as many "to go" containers were stacked high on the counter. Only one other couple sat down and ate in the restaurants and most folks were picking up their food to go. Even the people eating inside the restaurant were served in "to go" containers. The inside is minimalist with no ornate furnishings and yellow walls, projecting a Caribbean feel. Recommend adding a bit more Jamaican artifacts such palm trees, Jamaican flag, surfboard, etc. It would be a great spot for students, friend meet ups and a causal date night... Bikkle Jamaican Restaurant it was great and represented authentic Jamaican food well! We definitely will be returning.

I was visiting a friend in Austin and we were about to go out on the town and decided we wanted to stop and get some food. While the kitchen definitely knows how to bring the flavor, the rest of the experience was less than exceptional. When we walked in, I asked the staff for their local favorites. I expected them to say jerk chicken, but they immediately suggested the oxtail. It felt a little bit like they were trying to clear out the fridge, but we decided to be adventurous and ordered both the oxtail and the chicken anyway. With two sodas, the total came out to about $50. The counter help seemed not overly enthusiastic about us being there, but we drove a distance to get here. The first thing we noticed was the lighting--or lack thereof. It was so darkly lit inside that it felt a bit gloomy, almost like they were trying to save on the electric bill. When our food arrived in plastic boxes, the presentation was a bit of a mystery. It looked messy and "muddy" on the plate, to the point where I didn't even snap a photo. You definitely have to trust the process here because it doesn't look like a gourmet presentation. The food does taste good. Once we closed our eyes and dove in, the kitchen totally redeemed itself. The flavors were surprisingly authentic and very close to what I love about Jamaican cooking. The meat was super tender and full of flavor, the rice was nicely seasoned, and the fried plantains were a sweet, and delicious. Tony's has a ton of potential because the chef clearly has skills. BUT, for $50, I do wish the restaurant had a bit more energy, brighter lights, and prettier plating. Personally, I feel as though their prices are a little steep for what you get. If you don't mind a super casual, dark atmosphere and messy presentation, the tasty seasoning makes it worth a try.
